Domaine technique

Technical area
The present invention relates to a mechanism for transmitting rotational movements between two parts offset from a time-setting rod in a wristwatch.
State of the art
[0002] The usual wristwatches include a watch case protecting a movement that is equipped with a time-setting rod. The stem passes through a bearing through the box and its end is provided with a crown. The same rod is also frequently used for winding movement and other functions.
The position of the crown on the outside of the watch is determined by the position of the movement in the box. It happens however that the stem is offset from the median plane of the watch, and very close to the bottom of the watch. This disadvantage occurs especially when the movement is separated and away from the dial by an auxiliary module or a complication. A crown too close to the bottom of the watch may however hurt the wearer and is unsatisfactory from an aesthetic point of view.
So there is known in the prior art several devices for shifting the crown relative to the time setting rod of the movement.
CH691 632 describes a watch with a winding stem and time setting consists of two parts offset and connected in rotation by means of two gears. This mechanism has the disadvantage of reversing the direction of rotation of the crown, forcing users to turn the crown in the opposite direction to the usual direction. Moreover, this mechanism requires a large volume between the movement and the watch case.
[0006] DE593 654 describes a pocket watch with a winding and time-setting rod in two offset parts, the second part being rotated by gear trains. This mechanism also requires a large volume and causes a reversal of the direction of rotation.
[0007] EP1 560 082 discloses a winding and / or time-setting rod connected kinematically by pinions meshing with each other. In this example, the mechanism is used to bring the crown closer to the bottom, instead of moving it away from it.
[0008] EP108 412 discloses a winding and / or time-setting rod in several parts in order to move the apparent end of the stem away from the bottom of the watch. The two parts of the rod are interconnected by gears meshing with each other. This mechanism uses sprockets and sprockets rotating about two perpendicular axes, which is primarily useful for quartz movements, but requires a place rarely available in a mechanical watch.
[0009] CH415 474 discloses a winding stem in two parts, one carried by the movement and the other by the box and inclined relative to the axis of the box.
EP1 134 628 discloses a crown rod in two offset parts, and a mechanism for transmitting axial and rotary movements between the two parts of the rod. This mechanism comprises a movable assembly movable axially. Each part of the rod is connected to a pinion, the two pinions being kinematically connected by a return (or an odd number of references) allowing them to rotate in the same direction. These additional references can only be used if space permits, ie if the distance between the axis of the two rods is sufficient or if the return can be shifted.
EP1 748 330 discloses a watch winding stem and time setting two offset parts having a first rotating shaft and sliding between two winding or setting positions and a second rotating rod parallel to the first one. A sliding pinion is moved between the winding and setting positions under the action of a pull mechanism actuated by the sliding of the first rod. In a variant the second rod is slidable and fixed to the sliding pinion. This mechanism is fixed on the movement stage and can not be easily adapted to an existing movement.
CH697 015 describes a watch having a basic movement provided with a first winding rod and / or time setting and an auxiliary module provided with a second winding rod and / or setting the hour. The two rods are actuable by a single crown.
US6 247 841 discloses a pushbutton for a watch case, acting on an articulated lever for returning the force in a direction not parallel to the axis of the pusher.
Brief summary of the invention
An object of the present invention is to provide a new mechanism for shifting the crown relative to the time setting rod.
Advantageously, this mechanism must be compact, impact resistant, simple to manufacture and assemble, and have a limited number of parts. It preferably allows the crown to rotate in the same direction as the time setting rod, and should not produce undesirable gearing.
Furthermore, an object of the invention is to provide a mechanism for raising the crown rod that can be used in a watch without requiring imperative change of movement.
According to the invention, these objects are achieved in particular by means of a mechanism for transmitting rotational movements between two offset parts of a time-setting rod for a wristwatch, each of the parts of the rod being equipped with a pinion with external teeth, in which a wheel provided with an internal toothing meshes with the two gears.
The rotation of the pinion connected to the ring gear is thus transmitted to the pinion linked to the movement through an internal gear wheel. The two gears and the wheel all turn in the same direction. This solution is very compact, easy to assemble and also adapted to gears very close to each other and to small shifts between the axis of the gears.
The internal gear wheel can advantageously rotate in a cage closed at least partially by flanges; this cage determines the positioning of the gears and the wheel relative to each other. Advantageously, the cage is displaceable parallel to the axis of the rod, in order to transmit the axial displacements of the crown to the portion of stem connected to the movement.
Brief description of the figures
Examples of implementation of the invention are indicated in the description illustrated by the appended figures in which:
FIG. 1 illustrates a perspective view of a cut watch to show the mechanism of the invention.
FIG. 2 illustrates a perspective view of a mechanical watch movement for a wristwatch, equipped with a mechanism according to the invention.
FIG. 3 illustrates a perspective view of a mechanism according to the invention.
Example (s) of embodiment of the invention
The watch case of FIG. 1comporte a middle, an ice 11, and a bottom. The reference 20 designates the dial. A movement 2 is maintained inside the middle part by a casing ring or by other conventional means. The movement 2 may comprise an additional module superimposed over a basic movement, or complications occupying a large thickness. In the illustrated example, the movement causes a display of the hour by means of needles and twelve mobile rotating on the hour turn.
The time setting rod of the movement 21 allows to put the movement 2 at the time, and possibly to go up in the case of a barrel movement. The position of this rod is however away from the dial, and close to the bottom of the watch, because of additional modules or complications mentioned. A position of the crown 3 as close to the bottom of the watch would however be unattractive and uncomfortable, so that the watch has a mechanism for raising the crown.
The ring 3 is mounted, for example screwed on a crown rod 31 which follows its axial and rotary movements. The crown rod 31 is also referred to as the time setting stem portion in this text.
The crown rod 31 can slide axially and pivot about its own axis in a bearing 34 connected to the rod 31 and movable in a tube 32 which passes through the watch case. Two annular seals 36 seal. The ring 35 makes it possible to adjust the longitudinal position of the crown 3.
The raising mechanism of the ring is arranged in the watch case, between the movement 2 and the middle part 1. This mechanism does not require any imperative modification to the movement 2, apart from mounting a pinion 210 on the portion of the time setting rod 21 coming out of the movement. It is however possible within the scope of the invention to modify the movement, for example its plate, to free space for the mechanism and to guide the latter.
The end of the crown rod 31 inside the box is equipped with another pinion 310. The two gears 210, 310 are not meshed with each other, but mesh each with the internal toothing 40 of a circular wheel 4, as can be seen in particular in FIG. 3. In an advantageous embodiment, the two gears 210 and 310 have the same number of teeth, which allows to put the watch on time and reassemble it by turning the crown 3 at the speed provided by the manufacturer of movement. Reductions using gears of unequal diameters can, however, also be made.
The axial rotations of the first portion of the time setting rod are thus transmitted to the second portion 21 of the time setting rod through the wheel 4; these three elements always turn in the same direction. The wheel 4 is devoid of central axis and is guided solely by its periphery in contact with the cage 5 and / or with portions of the middle part 1 and / or movement. Other elements guiding the wheel by its periphery, for example an outer bearing, rollers, etc. can be used.
In an advantageous embodiment, the width of the wheel 4 is greater than that of the gears 210, 310. This arrangement allows to arrange the two gears 210, 310 in two different planes, and to prevent them do not touch each other even if the distance between the axes of the rods 21, 31 is smaller than the diameter of the gears.
The wheel 4 rotates inside a cage (or jumper) 5 which guides it. Two screws 50 make it possible to guide the cage while limiting its fretting as it moves parallel to the longitudinal axis of the rod. These screws also allow the cage to be removed during assembly or disassembly. The cage may consist of one or more parts, and completely surround the wheel, or only a portion of its periphery. In the example shown, the cage 5 surrounds the wheel 4 only on an angular portion of 120 [deg.] Approximately; internal portions of the middle part and / or external portions of the movement, for example of the plate, are also used to position and guide the wheel 4.
The cage further comprises two flanges 51 and 52, a flange being disposed on each side of the wheel 4 with just enough clearance to allow the wheel to rotate between the two flanges. The outer flange 51 is provided with a through hole 510, for example in the form of notch, for the outer shaft portion 31. In the same way, the inner flange 52 is provided with a through hole 520, for example in the form of notch, for the time setting rod portion 21. The position of the two gears 210, 310 is thus determined by the position of these holes or notches 510, 520. The use of notches instead of holes makes it easier to mount the mechanism.
In the illustrated example, the two flanges 51, 52 cover only a limited portion of the side faces of the wheel 4. The flanges are integral and form a single piece with the bottom of the cage 5. Flanges of larger sizes, or removable flanges, can also be used.
The axial movements of the ring are transmitted to the inner shaft portion 21 through the cage 5 and flanges 51, 52. When the ring 3 is pulled outward, the pinion 310 pushes the flange outwardly 51, driving the rod portion 21 through the cage 5 and the inner flange 52. By pushing the crown 3, it also pushes the outer flange 51 through the range 311 on the portion of rod 31. This displacement of the outer flange 31 is directly transmitted to the end of the rod portion 21.
