The present invention relates to the field of secured electromagnets, intended to equip more particularly locks. These equip, for example, cash dispensers. They generally comprise an electric control device combined with a mechanical or electrical opening device. More precisely, the movement of the bolt can be controlled either mechanically or electrically. To ensure safe operation, to prevent fraudulent opening of the lock, it is locked by a part controlled by an electromagnet which receives orders from the electrical control device. A solution of this type is described, for example, in EP 0 992 643, in the name of MR Electronic.
It has the advantage of only allowing the opening of the lock by having both a key and a code.
However, it was found that, by the application of a suitable shock, it was possible to mechanically move this part, thus releasing the bolt.
To avoid this problem, it has been proposed to associate this piece against a piece which, during an impact, moves in the same direction as the main part, thus avoiding the transient release of the bolt. Such a solution involves delicate and expensive sizing.
The present invention aims to overcome this disadvantage. It relates to an electromagnet comprising a fixed armature, a movable armature and a coil. According to the invention, the mobile armature is arranged to perform successive or simultaneous movements of translation and rotation under the effect of the magnetic field generated by an electric current pulse in the coil.
In a first embodiment, the movable armature comprises first and second parts respectively and successively movable in rotation and in translation under the effect of an electric current pulse in the coil. Advantageously, the second part comprises two parts each rotating about an axis, the center of gravity of each of these parts being close to its axis of rotation. The sensitivity to possible shocks can thus be further reduced.
In a second embodiment, the movable armature comprises a pivotally mounted piece and sliding with reference to the fixed armature. The electromagnet further comprises a retaining member arranged so that said piece can slide after turning.
The present invention also relates to a lock comprising an electronic control circuit, a bolt for locking and unlocking access to a confined space, and an electromagnet as defined above. According to the invention, the lock comprises a retaining member arranged so as to prevent movement of the bolt as long as a current pulse, generated by said circuit, does not travel through the coil.
This retaining member may consist of a portion of the movable armature of the electromagnet.
The invention will be better understood on reading the description which follows, given by way of example and with reference to the drawing in which:
<tb> figs. 1 and 2 <sep> respectively represent an electromagnet and a lock provided with such an electromagnet, corresponding to a first embodiment of the invention; and
<tb> figs. 3 and 4 <sep> respectively represent an electromagnet and a lock provided with such an electromagnet, corresponding to a second embodiment of the invention.
The electromagnet of FIG. 1 comprises a frame not shown in the drawing, a fixed armature 10, a mobile armature 12, and a coil 14. The fixed armature 10 has a first portion 16 engaged in the coil 14 and forming a fixed core and a second portion 18 surrounding partially the coil.
The movable armature 12 comprises a part 20 and two levers 24 and 26. The part 20 is slidably mounted on the frame and comprises a portion 20a partially engaged in the coil 14 and constituting a plunger core, and first and second cylindrical portions 20b and 20c, the portion 20b being adjacent to the portion 20a, and the portions 20b and 20c being separated by a groove 20d. A coil spring 28 is supported on the one hand against the frame, on the other hand against the portion 20b, tending to maintain the piece 20 outside the coil 14. A stop 29, part of the frame, held axially the room 20.
The two levers 24 and 26 are pivotally mounted on the frame. Each of the levers comprises an arm a in the middle portion of which are arranged pivoting means, a pole shoe b adjacent to the portion 18 of the fixed armature 10, and a finger c. Springs 30 and 32 respectively cooperate with the levers 24 and 26 so as to bring the fingers 24c and 26c in the groove 20d. Each of the levers 24 and 26 is dimensioned so that its center of gravity is substantially on its pivot axis.
In the absence of current in the coil 14, the spring 28 tends to push the piece 20 outwardly, while the springs 30 and 32 respectively rotate the levers 24 and 26 so that their fingers 24c and 26c are engaged in the throat 20d.
As soon as an electric current flows through the coil 14, it generates a magnetic field. Parts of magnetic material are then subjected to forces tending to minimize the reluctance of the magnetic circuit they constitute. In the electromagnet which has just been described, this means that the pole shoes 24b and 26b are close to the part 18, tilting the levers 24 and 26. The fingers 24c and 26c are then released from the groove 20d. In addition, the core 20c tends to penetrate deeper into the coil 14.
As soon as the current is cut, the spring 28 brings the piece 20 outwards and the springs 30 and 32 tilt the levers 24 and 26 in the opposite direction, bringing the fingers 24c and 26c in the groove 20d.
Such an electromagnet is advantageously used to control a lock as shown in FIG. 2.
This lock comprises, in addition to the previously described electromagnet, a control circuit 34 connected to the coil 14, and a bolt 36 which can be controlled manually or by means of an electric control, by well known means of the skilled person. The bolt 36 is arranged in such a way that the piece 20 prevents its movement when it is in the rest position, illustrated in FIG. 2.
As the coil 14 is not traversed by a current, the part 20 is held axially by the stop 29 and the fingers 24c and 26c. Accordingly, even by applying a force in the direction of the axis of the coil 14, for example by applying a shock to the lock, the part 20 can not be moved and, consequently, the bolt 36 either.
The application of a current in the coil 14 generates a magnetic field, as explained above, which first causes the tilting of the levers 24 and 26, then the dive of the piece 20 in the coil 14, which frees the space next to the bolt 36.
Thus, thanks to the fact that the electromagnet comprises a movable armature arranged to perform successive movements of rotation and translation under the effect of a pulse in the coil, it is possible to prevent inadvertent opening lock by the application of a shock.
It will be noted that the fact that the levers 24 and 26 are arranged symmetrically with respect to the movable armature 12 and that their centers of gravity are substantially on their axis of rotation further enhances the safety of the assembly.
The electromagnet shown in FIG. 3, seen from side 3a, from above in 3bet from below in 3ccorte also a fixed armature 10, a movable armature 12 and a coil 14, and a coil spring 28 and a stop 29.
In this electromagnet, the fixed armature 10 is U-shaped, the coil 14 is located between the branches of the U, while the free ends form polar shoe 10b and 10c.
The movable armature 12 is pivotally mounted and sliding on the frame. It comprises a portion 12a, disposed between the pole shoes and having a cylinder shape provided with two plates, a portion 12b partially engaged in the coil 14 and forming a plunger, and a portion 12c of rectangular section.
The spring 28 tends to push the movable armature 12 towards the outside of the coil 14, bearing against the stop 29.
The frame carries a locking member 38 comprising a rectangular opening having a slightly larger section than the portion 12c and arranged to cooperate with it, and a spring 40 bearing against a flat face of the portion 12a, tending to maintain the movable armature 12 in a position such that the opening of the member 38 is angularly offset relative to the portion 12c.
A current applied in the coil 14 has the effect of generating a magnetic field driven by the parts of soft magnetic material, the latter tending to be oriented so as to minimize the reluctance of the magnetic circuit. In this case the portion 12a will tend to rotate, aligning between the two polar openings, and the portion 12b to enter the coil 14. This penetration is possible only after the movable armature 12 has rotated, its portion 12a being aligned between the pole shoes 10b and 10c and the portion 12c aligned with the opening of the locking member 38.
Such an electromagnet is intended to equip a lock such as that shown in FIG. 4. It also comprises a control circuit 34 and a bolt 36. The latter is controlled by mechanical or electromechanical means, well known to those skilled in the art. The bolt 36 is arranged so that, in the absence of current in the coil 14, the movable armature 12 prevents its movement. The bolt 36 can not be moved, even when trying to move the movable armature 12 by applying a shock. Indeed, the latter can have an axial displacement, releasing the bolt, after turning.
By passing a current in the coil 14, the result is a magnetic field inducing a torque on the movable armature 12, which rotates as explained above, the portion 12c being aligned with reference to the opening of the member 38, and an axial force, which causes the portion 12c to enter the opening of the member 38. In this way, the movable armature 12 is set back from the bolt 36 which can then be moved.
As soon as the current is interrupted, and the bolt is put back in place, the movable armature 12 locks the bolt 36, which can be moved only if an electric current flows through the coil 14.
Thus, thanks to the particular configuration of the electromagnet described with reference to FIG. 3, it is possible to realize a lock providing the guarantee that it can not be violated by releasing the bolt under the effect of a shock.
It is clear that the electromagnets and locks described have a schematic nature and that the skilled person will implement the necessary means to allow the pivoting and sliding of the constituent parts of the electromagnets. He will also choose materials that provide both magnetic and mechanical functions.
It is also obvious that the parts of the movable armatures 12 may be only partially made of soft magnetic materials.
In both embodiments, the bolt 36 is blocked directly by the movable armature 12. It is obvious that it could also be indirectly, a complementary piece that can be interposed. However, care should be taken that this part can not be moved unexpectedly under the effect of a shock.
In both embodiments, the movable armature is positioned by a spring. It is obvious for the skilled person to ensure this positioning by other means, for example magnetic.
