The present invention relates to a timepiece comprising a central mobile performing a turn in x hours, x being an integer greater than 1, and bearing x rotating satellite mobiles arranged at regular intervals on a circle centered on the axis of the central mobile and bearing the hour digits, distributed on the satellites at the rate of 12 / x or 24 / x digits by satellite, a scale graduated in minutes extending over a circular arc of 360 / x centered on the central mobile axis, and at least one fixed finger driving in turn said satellites a fraction of a turn each turn of the central mobile,
the assembly being arranged so that the hour digits move successively in front of the minute scale.
Such a piece is known from document CH-677 575 which describes a wristwatch in which the central mobile is constituted by a wheel on which are rotated satellites provided with disks bearing hour digits and driven by a rotation angle determined at each turn of the central wheel by a fixed finger. These satellites are indexed in their angular position between each drive by jumpers carried by said central wheel and cooperating with stars of these satellites.
The main disadvantage of this timepiece lies in the fact of the use of jumpers for maintaining the satellites.
Indeed, if the support force of the jumpers is low, the satellites can be deindexed by shocks to the watch. But if the support force of the jumpers is large, to avoid such de-indexing under the effect of shocks, the driving force of the satellites to move from one position to the next is large, which requires an over-sizing motor movement and therefore an increase in congestion or an unacceptable decrease in the power reserve of the movement.
The present invention aims to allow the realization of a timepiece of the type described above which is devoid of jumpers to obviate the aforementioned drawbacks.
The present invention relates to a timepiece comprising a central wheel performing a turn in x hours, x being an integer greater than 1,
and carrying x rotating satellites arranged at regular intervals on a circle centered on the axis of the central wheel and bearing the hour digits, distributed on the satellites at the rate of 12 / x or 24 / x digits by satellite, a minute graduation extending over an arc of 360 / x centered on the axis of the central wheel and at least one fixed member driving the satellites in turn a fraction of a revolution at each turn of the central wheel,
the assembly being arranged such that the hour digits move successively opposite the minute graduation and which is distinguished by the features listed in claim 1.
Other features of the invention are listed in the dependent claims.
The accompanying drawing illustrates schematically and by way of example an embodiment of the invention.
<tb> Fig. 1 <sep> is a view of the dial of the timepiece.
<tb> Fig. 2 <sep> is a view of the timepiece, part of the dial having been removed.
<tb> Fig. 3 <sep> is a partial view of the central wheel, its rotation drive and the rotation drive mechanism of the satellites carried by this central wheel.
<tb> Fig. 4 <sep> is a section along the line A-A of FIG. 3.
The timepiece, in particular a wristwatch or pocket watch, illustrated comprises a central wheel 1 comprising a hub connected to a crown of the hours by arms. This central wheel 1 is driven by a reduction wheel 2, 3 of the clockwork movement meshing with a crown gear 4 integral with the central wheel 1 due to a complete turn in three hours.
This central wheel 1 is pivoted concentrically to a dial formed of an upper portion 5 and a lower portion 6, the latter having a minute graduation 7 extending over a circular arc of about 120.
The ring of hours 1a of the central wheel 1 carries three satellites rotated about axes 8 distributed regularly at intervals of 120 deg. on this crown of hours 1a. Each satellite has a 9 hour reference integral with a four-pointed star 10 each branch of which carries a time indicator 11 in the form of a number representing one hour.
Each star 10 carries four time indicators, the first bearing the numbers 1, 4, 7 and 10, the second the numbers 2, 5, 8 and 11 and the third the numbers 3, 6, 9 and 12.
In operation a time indicator 11 emerges from under the upper dial 5 and moves next to the minute scale 7 carried by the lower dial 6. As the central wheel 1 performs a turn in three hours, each indicator 11 hour moves in one hour next to the graduation 7 minutes occupying a 120 degree arc. on the lower dial 6.
The invention relates more particularly to the indexing mechanism of the satellites 9, 10 during the rotation of the central wheel 1. This indexing mechanism comprises a fixed cam 12 concentric with the central wheel 1 having at least one finger , here in the illustrated example two fingers 13.
This fixed cam 12 has a circular periphery 14 except in the vicinity of the fingers 13 where it has notches 15 on each side of the fingers 13. This fixed cam 12 cooperates with three Maltese Crosses 16 each pivoted on an arm of the central wheel 1 s extending along a radius of this central wheel 1 passing through a pivot point 8 of a satellite 9, 10.
Each Maltese Cross 16 has four grooves 17 separated by portions 18 in the form of a circular arc cooperating with the periphery 14 of the fixed cam. The grooves 17 cooperate with the fingers 13 of the fixed cam 12 and cause each pass of one of these fingers an indexing of 90 deg. Crosses of Malta 16.
Each Maltese Cross 16 is secured to an intermediate referral 19 engaged with the reference 9 hours corresponding.
The ratio of the number of teeth of the references of the hours 9 and the intermediate references 19 is such that for an indexing of 90 deg. the corresponding satellite 9, 10 carries out a rotation of 45. Thus for a complete revolution of the central wheel 1 each satellite 9, 10 is indexed by two steps since there are two fingers 13 to the fixed cam 12, that is to say 90 degrees. causing the replacement of a time indicator 11 by the following.
With this mechanism for driving and indexing the satellites 9, 10 by the fixed cam 12, the Maltese Cross 16 and the references 9, 19, the indexing is effortless since it involves of an entanglement of the fingers 13 and the Maltese Crosses 16.
In addition, between two indexings, the satellites 9, 10 are rigorously and positively maintained in their angular position with respect to the central wheel 1 by the interaction of the Maltese Crosses 16 and the periphery 14 and the fixed cam 12. The satellites can not be deindexed by shocks to the timepiece.
Many variants of the mechanism are possible while applying the same principle, in particular we can double the number of satellites 9, 10 to display the hours of 1 to 24, it is necessary that the central wheel performs a turn in six hours.
It is also possible to modify the number of satellites 9, 10 and to modify accordingly the number of time indicators 11 carried by each satellite 9, 10.
It is also possible to modify the number of fingers 13 of the fixed cam, thereby modifying the ratios of the number of teeth of the references 9 and 19 provided that for each turn of the central wheel 1 each satellite 9, 10 is indexed an angle corresponding to the passage of a time indicator 11 to the next.
In variants, the stars 10 of the satellites could be replaced by disks bearing the time indicators 11.
The entire mechanism may be integrated in a watch movement or be designed as an additional module mounted on a plate to be placed on a watch movement.
