Some machines for packaging products in stretch film are laterally equipped with a horizontal and motorized conveyor on which are arranged in a single file the products to be packaged, usually placed on trays and oriented by one side as much as possible parallel to the direction of travel. of the conveyor, to which optoelectronic barriers are associated to record the significant dimensions of the product, the length, the width and the height, in order then to automatically adapt to these the dimensions of the packaging film.
The product which reaches the terminal part of the conveyor is then moved by a pusher animated with a horizontal, rectilinear and alternating movement, perpendicular to the conveyor, which causes this product to move on sliding surfaces so that, by reaction, it is placed in abutment against the pusher, even if at the time of gripping it was slightly inclined, and which transfers the product in a correctly centered position on the service grid of the elevator of the packaging machine, from which the elevator , at the appropriate phase, will rise to lift the product against a segment of previously stretched film placed above which, by suitable devices, will then be brought into intimate contact with the product, with overlapping of the edges on the bottom of the tray. conditioning.
The return stroke of the pusher has a negative influence on the operating speed of the actual packaging machines, since the return must be completed before a new product reaches the terminal part of the feed conveyor. One of the objects of the invention is to avoid this drawback in a machine according to the preamble of claim 1 by means of a construction defined in the characteristic part of claim 1.
This objective as well as other objects and the characteristics of the invention will become more evident from the following description of a preferred embodiment of the invention, illustrated by way of example, without limitation, by the figures of the two attached design drawings, in which: FIG. 1 is a plan view from above and with parts in section of the pusher, taken up in the context of the machine in which it operates; fig. 2 shows details taken along the line of section II-II of FIG. 1; fig. 3 and 4 show the pusher in side elevation, with parts in section and respectively during the outward and return stroke.
In fig. 1, is indicated by T the composite product supply conveyor P usually placed on trays, actuated by the corresponding motor M and which advances the products in the direction indicated by the arrow F. In accordance with the invention, the terminal part of the conveyor T is supported in overhang and does not include support devices below, all predictably and achievable by the techniques of art. Laterally and in the same plane as the terminal part of the transporter T is provided a transit plane A and then the elevator service grid E which is separated from the plane A by an opening S of appropriate size (see below).
In accordance with the invention, immediately downstream of the conveyor T and in the direction orthogonal with respect thereto, there is provided a horizontal actuator for alternating rectilinear displacement 1, arranged in a bridge between the parts T and E and of the type shown for example in fig. 4, comprising a guide body 101 in which a carriage 201 moves longitudinally which, by its nut 301, possibly with a ball track, cooperates with a screw 401 disposed longitudinally in the body and connected at one end to a positive motorization and to double direction of rotation 2, with motor with electronic speed and phase regulation, since the stroke of the pusher varies according to the dimensions of the product which must always be centered on the grid E of the elevator.
The body 101 of the actuator comprises at least one longitudinal slot 3 through which the carriage 201 is visible and which, according to the invention, faces upwards. On this carriage is fixed a support 4 turned upwards and comprising a fork 104 on which pivots on a horizontal axis 5 and orthogonal to the actuator, the end of a main lever 6 oriented in the direction of the return stroke of the actuator, which, seen from the side, is slightly curved upwards and which supports at its end and overhangs a horizontal comb 7, the teeth of which are oriented upwards, orthogonally with respect to to the actuator 1, which forms the pusher responsible for transferring the products P from the transporter T to the grid E.
The lever 6 is biased upwards by a spring 9 attached to the support 4 and to a small arm 8 integral with the lever 6, oriented downward and which is held in abutment by this spring 9 against an adjustable stop 10, placed on the support 4. In this situation, the pusher 7 is held above the parts T, A and E described above, in a position useful for the transfer of the product from T to E.
According to the invention, the front part of the plane A which is turned towards the grid E, has a cut conformation and its recessed parts 11 are aligned with the teeth 107 of the pusher 7 described above (see below).
Figs. 1 and 4 show that, laterally with respect to the main lever 6 and integral with it, a secondary lever 106 is provided, comprising a roller 12 at its end. When the pusher 7 ends its active working stroke to transfer the product from the conveyor T to the grid E, passing through the intermediate plane A, the roller 12 slides on the upper edge of a rail having the function of a linear cam , arranged laterally relative to the path of the pusher and articulated with the initial end, close to the conveyor T, on a pivot 14 parallel to the pusher and supported by a vertical support 15 fixed on the external flank of the body 101 of the actuator 1 and placed on the side of the cam 13 which is opposite to that engaged by the lever 106, so as not to interfere with the latter.
The cam 13 has a length such that it is abandoned by the roller 12 when the pusher has transferred the product to the grid E, whatever the dimensions of the product. A little before the end part of the cam 13, see also fig. 2, there is provided a lateral support 16 similar to that described above, also turned upwards and provided with a vertical buttonhole 17 of appropriate dimensions, traversed by a pivot 18 secured to the cam 13 and which, at its end protruding from the buttonhole, is connected to a tension spring 19 fixed to the top of the support 16, which keeps the cam 13 raised in the position indicated by a solid line in FIG. 3, the pivot 18 being substantially pressed against the upper end of the buttonhole 17.
Preferably, provision is made for this support of the pivot with the buttonhole to be made attenuated in order to avoid noise and wear problems, a pivot 20 which operates in beating against an elastomer damper 21 fixed on a lateral appendage 116 of the support 16, being provided for this purpose on the external flank of the cam 13.
The final end 113 of the cam 13 is appropriately shortened and when this cam is raised at rest, the end 113 is at a level appropriately higher than that of the roller 12 of the secondary lever 106 in the rest position.
The operation of the device thus designed is simple and obvious When the actuator 1 brings the pusher 7 during the active stroke for the transfer of the product P from the transporter T to the grid E, the pusher is in the high position described above and can push product P, as shown in fig. 3. In this figure, the lever 106 is represented by a solid line in the rest position and is represented by a dashed line at the successive positions K1, K2, K3 of its active stroke.
When the roller 12 succeeds in cooperating with the end part of the cam 13, as indicated from position K2, since the primary lever 6 cannot oscillate upward for the cooperation of the parts 8 and 10, the roller 12 determines by reaction a lowering of the cam 13, represented by the dashed line in FIG. 3, with oscillation of this cam around the pivot 14, contrary to the action of the spring 19 and, when the roller 12 leaves the cam 13 and the pusher reaches the end of its active stroke, as indicated in position K3 , under the action of the spring 19, the cam 13 returns to the high rest position.
Fig. 4 indicates this condition and shows the secondary lever 106 with the roller 12 and the pusher 7 in the active end-of-travel position of this pusher 7 and represents by a dashed line this secondary lever and the pusher in successive positions K4, K5, K6 , K7 of the return stroke of this pusher.
In these figures it is obvious that when the actuator 1 carries the pusher in the return stroke, the roller 12 manages to cooperate with the lower part of the final end 113 of the cam 13 and is forced to follow the lower edge of this cam, which has a progressively lowered profile 213, under the effect of which, as the succession of positions K4 and K5 shows, the secondary lever 106 oscillates downwards and the pusher 7 is brought below the plane A and the conveyor T, crossing the empty space S which is located between this plane and the elevator service grid E.
When the pusher reaches the end of the return stroke, the roller 12 of the lever 106 leaves the lower edge of the cam 13, as shown by the succession of positions K6 and K7 and this same pusher moves to the raised position at the start. cycle.
