Fig. 2 einen Schnitt längs der Linie II-II in Fig. 1,
Fig. 4 einen Schnitt längs der Linie IV-IV in Fig. 3.
The present invention relates to a mortise lock according to the preamble of claim 1, a wall section to a lock housing according to the preamble of claim 11 and a lock housing according to the preamble of claim 14.
In the case of mortise mortise locks, the housing essentially consists of two half-shells connected to each other and a faceplate with the openings for the lock holder and the bolt.
Mortice door locks for doors hinged on the right or left differ in the position of the spring-loaded, wedge-shaped lock holder. In order not to have to keep two locks in stock corresponding to the right or left hinging of the door, mortise locks with a lock holder which can be inserted offset by its displacement axis by 180 ° have become known. Despite this improvement, a special lock housing with a corresponding key hole has to be made for the number locks for each of the numerous cross-sectional profiles of the key bit. This increases the cost of manufacturing and storing such locks. Another disadvantage is the loss of a key. If a replacement key with the same key bit is not available, the entire lock must be replaced.
An analogous situation arises if the locking device of the mortise lock is to be combined with a Chubb lock, a security lock (cylinder lock) or a toilet door lock. Depending on the desired lock type, the lock housing halves must have a differently shaped opening for installing the lock cylinder instead of the keyhole, which is matched to the selected lock type, but which (in contrast to the numeric locks) can be mirrored. After all, a special lock housing has to be manufactured for every lock type and kept in stock.
The object of the present invention is to propose a mortise lock, the type of which, depending on the requirement, can be determined or modified with little effort before or after installation in the door leaf.
According to the invention, this object is achieved by the characterizing features of claims 1, 10 and 14, respectively.
Thanks to the invention, all of the aforementioned types of locks, regardless of whether for left or right hinges, can be created with a single mortise lock that can be converted from left to right hinges, the housing of which has two aligned openings for attaching a cylinder lock or a locking cylinder.
The lock manufacturer and the carpenter therefore only have to manufacture or keep one type of lock housing in addition to a large number of interchangeable wall sections with different openings for their use as numeric locks, security locks or toilet locks, which is much more space-saving and cost-effective.
In addition, the type of lock (number lock, security lock, toilet lock) and, for number locks, the wall sections that determine the shape of the keyhole can be manufactured inexpensively as injection molded or pressed parts in metal or plastic.
The invention makes it possible at any time to attach the wall sections determining the type of lock to the corresponding housing wall or to replace existing wall sections there on the lock housing installed in the door leaf. With numeric locks, the shape of the keyhole or the access authorization to a lockable room can be changed at any time after installation in the door leaf. This is particularly useful if the key to a lock is lost or if the circle of authorized persons changes. Because the lock housing cannot be replaced in such cases, there is also no need for adjustment work or patching on the door leaf due to dimensional deviations in a new lock housing.
The invention is explained, for example, with the aid of the attached schematic drawing. Show it:
1 is a side view of a mortise lock with parts broken away,
2 shows a section along the line II-II in FIG. 1,
Fig. 3 is a side view of a mortise lock for the attachment of a lock cylinder, with parts broken away, and
4 shows a section along the line IV-IV in FIG. 3rd
Fig. 1 shows a mortise lock 1 suitable for left and right hinges with omitted lock holder, which is embedded in the front of a door leaf. In the part of the lock housing 2 shown, a bolt 3 and a bolt shaft 4 firmly connected to it are guided through a locking pin 5 fixed to the housing. If a key is inserted into the keyhole and turned, he first presses the tumbler 7, which is acted upon by a spring 6, with his beard, as a result of which the detent hook 8, which is firmly connected to the tumbler 7, comes out of the detent 9 on the top of the bolt shaft 4 is pushed out. The key bit then engages in the first catch 10 on the underside of the locking shaft 4.
By turning the key further, the bolt 3 is advanced until the catch hook 8 is pressed into the next catch 9 on the top of the bolt shaft 4. The lock is two-way (it could also be one-way), so that the closing process can be carried out twice and the bolt 3 can be pushed out even further. Below the locking shaft 4, an opening 13, 13 min is arranged in the opposite housing walls 11, 12, which openings are aligned and of which only one can be seen in FIG. 1.
A plate 14 is inserted on or in the openings 13, 13 min with a play-free fit. The two plates 14 are of identical design and are provided with an opening 15 forming the keyhole, which through its shape identifies the access authorization of a key. They each form a section of the housing wall 11, 12. The narrow side of the plate 14 is provided with a step which forms a flange-like edge 16 and a centering surface 17 which is shaped like the edge of the opening 13 or 13 min. The centering surface 17 of the plates 14 ensures that, on the one hand, they are positioned precisely and without play in the openings 13, 13 min and, on the other hand, exactly opposite one another. At the lower end of the plate 14, a screw 19 is inserted into a threaded bore 18 and its end is screwed into the threaded bore 18 of the opposite plate 14.
By tightening the screw 19, the two plates 14 are firmly clamped against one another or against the corresponding housing wall 11 or 12 and held immovably therein by positive locking.
By loosening the screw 19, the plates 14 can be removed or exchanged for others.
Instead of the screw 19, the plates 14 can also be individually screwed to the housing walls 11, 12 or fastened to them by a snap connection.
The example according to FIGS. 3 and 4 is constructed in principle in the same way. Identical or equivalent parts are labeled with the same reference numbers, so that a repeated description is omitted.
The opening 15 in the plate 14 is circular and, unlike that of the numeric lock, is not used to identify the access authorization. On the side facing the lock housing, the plate 14 is provided with a pivot bearing 20, in which the one end of a locking cam cylinder 21 is rotatably mounted. A locking cam 22 projects radially away from the latter and cooperates with the lower catch 10 on the locking shaft 4 instead of a key bit. The locking cam cylinder 21 is axially penetrated by a square hole 23, into which a square mandrel connected in a known manner to a security lock cylinder or an olive can be inserted. The pivoting path of the closing cam 22 is limited by stops 24 which are firmly connected to the plate 14.
However, it is also possible to design the stops, for example, as grub screws which can be screwed into the plate 14 and which are set according to the local conditions.
