REVENDICATIONS

CLAIMS
1. Anti-theft device for two-wheeled vehicles, comprising a padlock constituted by a body provided with a lock and by a part having the shape of an elongated U, the two branches of which engage at their ends in corresponding housings of the body of the padlock, the body and U-shaped part of the padlock being, in this relative position, made integral with one another by the closing of the lock, characterized in that it comprises a support intended to be fixed to remains on the frame of a vehicle, this support being traversed right through by at least one passage in which one of the branches of the U-shaped part of the padlock can slide between a locking position and an unlocking position,
means being provided to allow this part to be retracted when it is in its unlocked position.
2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that said means are constituted by the fact that said U-shaped part is in several parts hinged together.
3. Device according to claim I, characterized in that said means are constituted by the fact that said U-shaped part is rotatably mounted on an axis around which it can pivot when it is in its unlocked position.
The present invention relates to an anti-theft device for two-wheeled vehicles such as mopeds, mopeds, scooters, motorcycles. This anti-theft device comprises a padlock constituted by a body provided with a lock and by a part having the shape of an elongated U, the two branches of which engage at their ends in corresponding housings of the body of the padlock, the body and the U-shaped part of the padlock being, in this relative position, made integral with one another by closing the lock.
Several anti-theft devices are known comprising a padlock of this type which is engaged astride a part of the vehicle frame, for example on a tube or on one of the forks, passing through a wheel which is blocked by closing the lock.
Unfortunately, these devices have the disadvantage that the padlock does not have an assigned locking position so that it is often locally in contact with the frame or chassis of the vehicle, which, over time, damages the paintwork. or the varnish covering these parts of the vehicle.
The anti-theft device according to the present invention eliminates this drawback.
To this end, this device is characterized in that it comprises a support intended to be fixed permanently to the frame or the chassis of the vehicle, at a suitable location, this support being traversed right through by at least one passage. in which one of the branches of the U-shaped part of the padlock can slide between a locked position and an unlocked position, means being provided to allow this part to be retracted when it is in its unlocked position.
The attached drawing shows schematically and by way of example two embodiments of the subject of the invention.
Figure 1 is a front view of the first embodiment mounted on the rear fork of a moped, in the locked position.
Figure 2 is a sectional view through the line II-II in Figure 1.
Figure 3 is a view similar to Figure 2, the device being unlocked.
Figure 4 is a front view of the second embodiment, mounted on the rear fork of a moped, in the locked position.
FIG. 5 is a sectional view through the line V-V of FIG. 4.
Figure 6 is a view similar to Figure 5, the device being unlocked.
The device shown in Figures 1 to 3 comprises, on the one hand, a padlock 10 consisting of a body 1 1 with a lock and by a locking member 12 having the shape of an elongated U whose branches 13 are intended to be introduced by their ends into blind holes 14 in the body 11 and blocked in these holes by closing the lock by means of a key 15.
The device further comprises a support 16 comprising two cylindrical passages 17 of diameter corresponding to those of the branches 13.
The body 11 and the support 16 are mounted respectively on the two arms of the rear fork T of the vehicle, by means of fixing plates 18 and 19 and screws not visible in the drawing, so that the holes 14 and the passages 17, with the same diameters, are aligned coaxially perpendicular to the corresponding wheel.
The branches 13 are engaged in the passages 17 and the member 12 can thus slide freely in the support 16.
The movement of this member 12 is limited in both directions so as to define two extreme positions, a locking position and an unlocking position.
These two positions are determined respectively by the lock 20 of the padlock 11 and by a ball lock 21 cooperating with a stop 25. So that the member 13 does not protrude laterally when it is in its unlocked position, it has two articulations 22 which allow its central part 23 to be folded down against a clip 24.
The device shown in Figures 4 to 6 comprises a padlock 30, of the same type as the padlock 11, in which the locking member 31 is in one piece.
In this embodiment, the body 32 of the padlock 11 is not fixed to the frame of the vehicle.
This device further comprises a support 33 having in plan a raised portion in the shape of a T, fixed to one of the arms T of the rear fork by means of a plate 34 and screws not visible in the drawing.
The central part, of reduced width, of this support 33 is crossed by a transverse axis 35, its widest part and the axis 35 by coaxial and aligned holes 36 and 37, of the same diameters, in which the branches can slide 38 of the locking member 31 of the padlock 30.
The movement of this member 31 is limited in both directions so as to define two extreme positions, a locking position and an unlocking position.
These two positions are determined respectively by the toric part 38 of the member 31 and by a lock not visible in the drawing.
When the member 31 is in its unlocking position, the ends of its branches 38 are no longer engaged in the holes 37.
Under these conditions, it is possible to pivot the member 31 with the axis 35 down to a vertical position for which it is retracted.
One of the main advantages of the two devices is that, when they are locked or unlocked, the padlock occupies a position in which none of its parts is in contact with the frame or the chassis of the vehicle.
In addition, when it is unlocked, the locking member can be retracted so that it does not disturb the driver of the vehicle and does not create a danger by projecting.
It will be noted that the second embodiment has an important additional advantage, that of using a commercial padlock without it being necessary to make any modification to it.
The invention is obviously not limited to the two embodiments shown and described above. In particular, the support could only comprise a single passage for one or the other of the branches of the locking member.
