Die Erfindung betrifft eine Obermatratze mit Schaumstoffkern, insbesondere für Kinderbetten, wobei der Schaumstoffkern gemäss mindestens einer zur Liegefläche praktisch parallelen Ebene unterteilt ist und die übereinanderliegenden Schaumstoffkernteile einerseits von einer gemeinsamen Aussenhülle sowie einer flüssigkeitsabsorbierenden Innenhülle umgeben sind, anderseits innerhalb der Aussenhülle zwecks separater Waschbarkeit lose übereinander liegen und durch quer zu deren Längsachse lose eingeschobene Versteifungselemente versteift sind. Man half sich bisher durch das Auflegen von Gummitüchern, unterbindet aber damit die so notwendige Durchlüftung der Matratze im oberen Liegeflächenbereich. Ist es doch eine heute allgemeine anerkannte Forderung, den Menschen möglichst allseitig von Luft zu umgeben und dessen Hautatmung dadurch anzuregen.
