REVENDICATIONS

CLAIMS
1. Feeder with automatic feeding for the breeding of animals in batteries, in particular of pigs, characterized in that it comprises a feeding device constituted by a roller intended to be rotated by the muzzle of the animal itself and a hopper containing the food.
2. Feeder according to claim 1, characterized in that the hopper which contains the food comprises an upper part in the form of an inverted prism trunk and a lower part in the form of a prism trunk opening downwards.
3. Feeder comprising several sections and a tooth roller according to any one of claims 1 or 2, characterized in that it comprises a rod disposed in each of the sections and over the entire height of the hopper, and which cooperates with its end with the teeth of the roller, a rod which is moved forward and backward due to the rotation of the teeth of the roller and which ensures the destruction of any arches formed by the food coming down.
The present invention relates to an automatic feed feeder for breeding animals, especially pigs.
The new pig farming technique provides for series stalls raised above the ground and each provided with a feeder, the latter also being arranged in series and supplied by a single hopper containing the feed.
The feeders of known type are provided with a hopper in the form of an inverted truncated cone arranged in line with the feeders and having at its lower part, in line with the various positions of the feeder, a narrow slot.
However, it is noted that the food often forms a vault and does not descend into the manger, which requires continuous monitoring on the part of the breeders who intervene when this phenomenon occurs, and this phenomenon occurs frequently.
We tried to remedy this drawback by widening the section of the slot but, in this case, we cause another drawback, namely there is an overfilling of the feeder, which results in a significant waste of food, because the animal's instinct pushes him to rummage with his snout in the trough.
The object of the present invention is to provide an improved feeder avoiding the two drawbacks mentioned above.
According to the invention, this object is achieved by a manger, characterized in that it comprises a feeding device constituted by a roller intended to be rotated by the muzzle of the animal itself and a hopper containing Food.
The invention will be better understood on reading the description given below of an embodiment, presented by way of nonlimiting example, with reference to the attached drawing in which the single figure represents a perspective view and partial section of the feeder which highlights the important details of it.
Referring to the single figure, the feeder according to the invention is of elongated shape with multiple stations and on the other hand forms the front closure wall of the series of stalls.
This feeder essentially comprises a sheet metal element 1 which forms the upper part of the hopper and the bottom, or rear part, of the feeder, and a front part 2 situated at a certain distance from this first element, which descends into the feeder up to 'a few centimeters from the base of it.
This structure constitutes the hopper which contains the food 3.
This hopper has an upper part in the form of an inverted pyramid trunk combined with a lower part in the form of a pyramid trunk with downward opening, this in order to obtain both a gravimetric thrust of the food on the base which is not excessive and a tendency to rupture any vaults that may be formed by food.
The different feeders are separated by partitions which do not extend to the base of the feeder, so that the food from a feeder can pass into the neighboring feeder either naturally or because they have been pushed by the pork snout.
Said partition walls 4 are provided with a flange provided with a hole 6 used for fixing toothed rollers at the rate of one roller for each feeder section, the rollers being independent of each other, with one section preferably in the shape of a star 7 and being arranged in such a way that they occupy most of the space between the lower side of the front part of the hopper 2 and the bottom of the manger.
It can therefore be seen that the food cannot enter the feeder if the toothed roller 7 is not rotated counterclockwise, an action which alone supplies the feeder in question with food.
To facilitate the fall of the product and avoid the formation of arches, in particular when using food added with molasses, it is possible to install in the hopper rods 9 mounted oscillating at their upper end on crosspieces 8 and whose lower end, which is cut in a bevel, is arranged in the hopper, one for each section of the feeder, so as to cooperate, under the action of a spring 10, through their lower end, with the teeth of the toothed roller 7, so that, during the rotation of the roller intended to ensure the supply of food, there is simultaneously obtained a forward and backward movement of said rod which makes it possible to destroy any arches which are would be formed in food.
In addition, each station of the feeder can be provided with a semi-circular sector 11 which prevents the fall of food outside the feeder under the effect of violent tremors given by the snout of the animal when it eats.
The operation of the device is as follows: the hopper-silo being full of food, the animals wishing to consume the food of which they smell the smell near the roller make this roller turn by acting with their snout on the teeth of said roller and supply thus the feeder and feed on said food.
If, by chance, these animals, interested in the phenomenon (fall of the food as a function of the rotation of the roller) insist on continuing the operation when the food has reached a height such that it covers the roller, they are brought to lose interest in the operation, because it is impossible that the food can be supplied in overabundance and reach a height such that they overflow from the manger following the violent transverse movements of the snout of the animal.
Through the free space left at the bottom between the separating walls of the feeding stations and the bottom of the feeder, part of the food from one section of the feeder can be transferred to the next section where an animal is found more lazy or more lazy to spin the feed roller.
