il comporte trois gavettes montées sur un barillet, des moyens de commande étant prévus pour le mouvement relatif et la position de chaque gavette: il peut être prévu pour chaque gavette un doigt d'indexage commandé par vérin et monté sur le barillet, le doigt permettant de positionner et de maintenir la gavette selon une position relative déterminée par rapport au barillet par coopération avec des ouvertures ménagées sur la face arrière de la gavette;
-- le poste de cerclage comporte une alimentation de lien en bande du type à galet, et des moyens de guidage de la bande pour un mouvement de contournement d'une section de la couronne, ces moyens comprennent, par exemple, deux têtes de cerclage autonomes, d'une part, et une portion latérale du moyeu de chaque gavette, d'autre part, les têtes et la portion formant un trajet de guidage continu à l'injection du lien:
--- le poste d'éjection comporte des moyens automatiques de dégagement de la couronne indépendants pour chaque gavette, pouvant commander a la fois le rabattement des bras de la

The prntiste incntioii concerns a necking process
forms flexible tubes, coming in particular from an extru line
if we.
Current crowning techniques are essentially manual: an operator triggers the rotation of a winding gavage, after having hooked the tube. simultaneously with the restarting of the extrusion line: when the desired length is reached, the extrusion line is stopped for the time of shearing, laying of links and ejection of the crown. In addition to their manual nature, such techniques have the disadvantage of having to periodically stop the extrusion line.
It has been proposed to use two gavettes, a working gavette and a waiting gavette, so as not to interrupt the extrusion line: the change of gavette, always carried out manually, was inconvenient, and in any case prohibited high speeds of unwinding of the tube at the outlet of the extruder.
The subject of the present invention is a method of crowning a flexible tube coming from an extrusion line or a large capacity storage reel, method allowing the fully automatic crowning of tubes traveling continuously with speeds capable of reach 20 to 40 mum depending on the category of tubes concerned.
The automatic crowning method according to the invention for flexible tubes is characterized in that it comprises a phase of winding the tube on a gavette ending in shearing of the tube, a phase of strapping by links of the crown. obtained, and a phase of ejection of the crown from the gavette, the gavette being automatically moved in front of three successive positions corresponding to each of the phases
The method can also include at least one of the following characteristics:
the gavette is moved from the station corresponding to the winding to the station corresponding to the strapping shortly before the end of the winding phase, so that after shearing, the end of the tube coming from the extrusion line can be immediately guided towards a other gavette available,
after ejection of the crown from the corresponding gavette, the gavette is moved in front of the station corresponding to the winding phase,
the three phases of winding, strapping and ejection relate to three gavettes mounted on barrel, the automatic displacement of the barrel allowing the successive displacement of each gavette in front of the corresponding station, so that said process is continuous and does not require interruption the scrolling of the tube.
The invention also relates to a device for implementing the aforementioned method, which is characterized in that it comprises at least one gavette having a hub formed by sectors for the winding of the tube and lateral arms which can be folded down at the time of crown ejection, and three tixed winding stations respectively. strapping and ejection.
The device can. in addition, include at least one of the following characteristics:
it includes three gavettes mounted on a barrel, control means being provided for the relative movement and the position of each gavette: there can be provided for each gavette an indexing finger controlled by jack and mounted on the barrel, the finger allowing positioning and maintaining the gavette according to a relative position determined relative to the barrel by cooperation with openings made on the rear face of the gavette;
- The strapping station includes a band link feed of the roller type, and means for guiding the band for a movement of bypassing a section of the crown, these means comprise, for example, two strapping heads autonomous, on the one hand, and a lateral portion of the hub of each gavette, on the other hand, the heads and the portion forming a continuous guide path upon injection of the link:
--- the ejection station includes automatic means of disengaging the independent crown for each gavette, capable of controlling both the folding of the arms of the
gavette, and a reduction in the diameter of the hub in the direction of ejection of the crown by tilting of the sectors forming the hub; these means comprise for example a rack of cylindrical type substantially coaxial with the hub of the gavette, cooperating with the toothed portion of a cam provided on each arm of the gavette, the sectors forming the hub resting on said cam for tilting of said said sectors at the ejection station.
The advantages and characteristics of the invention will appear more clearly in the description which follows, given by way of illustration but in no way limiting, with reference to the figures of the appended drawing where:
fig. I is a schematic overview of a device according to the invention comprising three gavettes mounted on a barrel,
- figs. 2a and 2b schematically illustrate in section the phase of strapping the crown as it is implemented at the fixed strapping station.
ia fig. 3 is an axial section of a gavette illustrating more particularly the means for ejecting the crown from the gavette.
The term gavette designates a kind of coil comprising a portion acting as a hub and on which a tube can be wound, and means arranged laterally on either side of the hub ensuring the maintenance of the winding layers; these means are generally retractable at least on one side of the hub to allow the release of the finished crown.
As has been said above, the method is remarkable in that it comprises a phase of winding the tube on a gavette ending in shearing of the tube to the length obtained, and a phase of ejection of the crown. out of the gavette, the gavette being automatically moved in front of three successive positions corresponding to each of the phases.
There are certainly several ways of implementing such a process: nevertheless, the requirements of manufacturing at a mass production rate, that is to say for tube exit speeds from the extruder which can reach 20 to 40 mimi, require a continuous process, so as to avoid repetitive interruption of the extrusion line.
For this purpose, it is preferable to provide at least two gavettes which can move in front of three successive fixed stations: thus, a gavette (on which the flexible tube is wound) is moved from the station corresponding to the winding to the station corresponding to the strapping shortly before the end of the winding phase, so that after shearing, the end of the tube coming from the extrusion line can be immediately guided towards an empty waiting gavette, the waiting gavette being placed in front of the station corresponding to the winding phase after ejection of the crown it supports.
According to a particular and preferred variant, the implementation of which "has to be determined in the light of the drawing, the three phases of the process (winding, strapping and ejection) relate to three gavettes mounted on a barrel. The automatic displacement of the barrel allowing the displacement successive of each feeder in front of the corresponding fixed station.
In fig. 1, the device comprises three gavettes 1, 2, 3 mounted on a barrel 4, and placed in front of three fixed positions for winding, strapping and ejection respectively; the barrel 4 rotates in a substantially vertical plane, it being understood that a horizontal plane could as well have been chosen. Each shuttle, the particular embodiment of which will be described in more detail with the aid of FIG. 3, has a hub 5 formed of sectors, for the winding, and four lateral arms 6 which can be folded down to allow the crown to be ejected.
The operation of the device will now be described in detail. The flexible tube 7, coming continuously from an extrusion line (not shown) and passing through a conventional counting 8 and drawing 9 system, enters a guide element 10 pivotally mounted on a carriage i I and the tilting is controlled by a jack 12. At the start of the winding phase, the gavette I is angularly positioned, so that a hooking slot receives the end of the tube exiting from the guide element 10 itself in position attachment (actuator 12 powered).
Upon detection of the attachment of the tube, for example by means of a photoelectric cell, the gavette is rotated, and the valve 12 is exhausted so that the guide element 10 can gradually tilt as the winding. The carriage It moves on rods 13 in a back and forth movement for the purpose of cutting the tube on the gavette.
Shortly before arriving at the desired length, the barrel 4 is rotated about a third of a turn in the direction of the arrow 14.
so that the gavette I is in front of the strapping station 15 which will be decent later, and that the waiting gavette (gazette 3 in fig. I after ejection of the crown) is in front of the winding station in the hooking position . A shears 16, mounted on the carriage II, then cuts the tube, and the jack 12 is supplied for the tilting of the windlass element 10 in the hooking position towards the waiting gavel, without stopping the line d 'extrusion.
The winding is completed with the assistance of a pressure casing 17, and of a winding tin control member 18 such as a photoelectric cell; a pressing arm 19 is advantageously provided with each gavette for holding the rolled up tube. The finished crown, and still mounted on the corresponding gavette, then undergoes a strapping phase by a plurality of links (see description below for FIGS. 2a and 2h), and finally, after a new rotation of the barrel, a phase ejection from the gavette, the lateral arms of which are then folded down (see description below for fig. 3).
Such an arrangement is highly profitable, since the three fixed stations are active at the same time, the least of implementation used for each phase of the process being able moreover to support high rates.
In fig. 2a and 2b, the gavette I is in front of the strapping station.
The gavette is positioned relative to the strapping station by an indexing finger 20 controlled by a jack and mounted on the banllet (see fig. 3), said finger making it possible to position and maintain said gavette according to a relative position determined with respect to said barrel by cooperation with openings 71 mènaeèes on the rear face 22 of said gavette.
The strapping station comprises a supply of link eii band 23 stored on a reel 24, the supply being effected by driving rollers 25. The strapping station comprises means for guiding the band for a movement of bypassing a crown section. Here, such means have been illustrated in the form of two independent strapping heads 26, 27, on the one hand, and of a lateral return portion 28 dc each hub 5, on the other hand. In fig. 2a, the strapping station is in the standby position where the strapping heads are spaced from one another.
In the working position (fig. 'B), the gavette is indexed by means of the finger 20, and the strapping heads 26, 27 are brought together and disposed against the deflection portion' S, of a bricklayer that the assembly forms a path continuous guidance for the link. The connection of the link is carried out at 29, for example using a heat seal for a strip of plastic.
There may be provision for a pose of several links (four for example), in which case the strapping heads are moved back. the gavette is turned by a certain angle, and the process is repeated. It goes without saying that the scale is approximate for FIGS. 7a and 2b which remain a schematic illustration of the means used, and that the link is in practice closer to the crown (with or without tightening).
The ejection station includes automatic means of disengaging the independent crown for each pallet.
In the illustrated embodiment, the release means are specific to each gavette and to the barrel, but are only actuated during the ejection phase.
In fig. 3, the means shown control both the folding of the arms 6 of the gavette and a reduction in the diameter of the hub in the direction of ejection of the crown by tilting of sectors 30 forming said hub, so as to facilitate the release of the crown. The ejection can be carried out by means of two ejection arms 31 (see fig. 1), and / or cylinder (not shown), or even manually. The release means advantageously comprise a rack of cylindrical type 32 substantially coaxial with the hub of the gavette, cooperating with the toothed portion of a cam 33 provided for each arm of said gavette, the sectors 30 resting on said cam for a tilting at the ejection station.
In the same figure, the finger indexing device 20 controlled by the rod of a jack 34, and the power supply for opening and closing (respectively 35, 36) of the light rack-jack jack with the double passage connector 37, have been illustrated in more detail.
As a safety measure, the opening of the gavette could be delayed and controlled manually, to allow the manual installation of the links in the event of an incident at the strapping station; the time available to the operator would nevertheless be limited to the maximum of the duration of the winding phase, so as not to stop the extrusion line.
