Natrium-3dodecylaminopropionat, Natrium-3- dodecylaminopropansul- fonat, 3-(M,M-lDimetlhyl-N- he::adecylamino)- propan-1-sulfo nat oder iFettsäureamidoallsyl-N,M- dirlethyl2cetobetaill, wobei die Fettsäure 8 bis 18 C-Atome und der Alkylrest 3 C-Atome enthält.

The present invention relates to a new detergent and cleaning agent which contains at least one surfactant and, as a further component, a special copolymer of α-hydroxiacrylic acid and acrylic acid or a water-soluble salt of this copolymer.
The copolymers in question, or their salts, act as builders in the detergents and cleaning agents according to the invention.
It is known that the cleaning power of surfactants, both soaps and synthetic detergents, in washing and cleaning agents is increased by adding certain water-thinning products. Such cleaning enhancers are referred to as builders. Detergents and cleaning agents containing builders are more effective and yet cheaper than the corresponding builder-free formulations.
In supplements to the nonionic surfactant component of a detergent formulation, which only disperses and / or peptizes hydrophobic soil such as soot and fat particles, a detergent must also contain a component that is suitable for removing hydrophilic soil.
This is the task of the builder or framework substances.
In the absence of such a genist, the dirt incrustation detached from the fabric during the washing process is only partially absorbed by the washing liquor, so that the dirt particles are deposited on the laundry and no satisfactory washing effect is achieved.
The mechanism and details of the builder's action are not yet fully understood. There are several processes that play a role in the function of the builder, such as the stabilization of pigment dirt suspensions, the emulsification of dirt particles, the influence of the surface and interface properties of aqueous surfactant solutions, the solubilization of water-insoluble components of the cleaning liquor, the petition of dirt agglomerates, the Neutralization of acidic substances and the inactivation of minerals in the washing liquor.
In order to obtain information about the performance and suitability of individual products as builders, it is advisable to examine not only their binding capacity for Ca ions and their ability to form stable dispersions, but also their behavior and their degree of effectiveness in the washing or cleaning process. This ensures that all factors involved in the builder effect are taken into account qualitatively and quantitatively.
Conventional builders are the water-soluble alkali salts of mineral acids such as alkali carbonates, borates, phosphates, polyphosphates, bicarbonates and silicates.
Of the numerous products proposed as builders, the linear condensed alkali metal phosphates, in particular sodium tripolyphosphate, are used almost exclusively in the usual detergents and cleaning agents. The detergent and cleaning agent's content of these builders is up to about 50% by weight.
As a result of the considerable increase in the consumption of detergents and cleaning agents containing phosphates, both in households and in industry, the content of these phosphates in natural waters has also increased. In the discussion about the causes of increasing water eutrophication, water-soluble nitrate and phosphate salts have recently been given the property of promoting the growth of certain algae species under certain conditions and thus contributing to the eutrophication of water.
Even if it is not yet possible to make a clear noise about the proportion of phosphate-containing detergents and cleaning agents in water reutrophication at the moment, it still seems worthwhile to develop potential nitrogen- and phosphorus-free substitutes for the structural substances previously used in detergent formulations.
It is already known to use nitrogen- and phosphorus-free builders in detergent formulations. For example, starch derivatives such as dicarboxyl and carboxymethyl starch or polymeric carboxylic acids such as polymaleic acid and polyitaconic acid, as well as their copolymers with unsaturated carboxylic acids, olefins or short-chain unsaturated aliphatic ethers or alcohols have been used as such. Furthermore, the structural substances proposed were ozy- diacetic acid, oxydisuccinic acid, cyclocarboxylic acid, such as benzene penta- or tetracarboxylic acid, esters of polyethylene glycol and adipic acid, maleic acid containing sulfonate groups, and esters of ethylene glycol and tri- or tetracarboxylic acids.
Finally, it is known from German Offenlegungsschrift 2,136,672 and 2,161,727 and from the publication by P. Berth, G. Jakobi and E. Schmadel in Chemiker-Zeitung 95 (1971), pages 548-553, poly-a-hydr - to use oxiacrylic acid or polyacrylic acid or their alkali salts as builders for detergents and cleaning agents.
The abovementioned substances have not proven to be satisfactory builder substances in every respect, since these substances do not have the builder properties explained at the outset to a sufficient extent and therefore do not give satisfactory washing results. In addition, there is also a lack of economical processes for the production of these compounds.
It has now surprisingly been found that certain copolymers of α-hydroxiacrylic acid and acrylic acid, or their water-soluble salts, which are defined in more detail below, can be used with great advantage as components in detergents and cleaning agents, in particular as builders. These products have a significantly better ability to sequester polyvalent metal ions than, for example, polyhydronzacrylic acid or polyacrylic acid or their alkali or ammonium salts.
The present invention therefore provides a detergent which is characterized in that it contains at least one surfactant and, as a further component, a copolymer of α-hydroacrylic acid and acrylic acid with an acrylic acid content of 9 to 85 mol% or a water-soluble salt of this copolymer contains, the copolymer in the form of a 1% by weight solution of the copolymer in aqueous 2 normal sodium hydroxide solution at a temperature of 20 ° C. having a relative viscosity in the range from 0.05 to 1.0.
Copolymers or salts thereof which have an acrylic acid content of 16 to 50 mol% and in which the relative viscosity of the copolymer in a 1 percent by weight solution in 2 normal sodium hydroxide is particularly preferred in the washing and cleaning agents according to the invention. solution can be found at a temperature of 200 C in the range from 0.1 to 0.8.
The surfactant contained in the washing and cleaning agents according to the invention can be an anion-active surfactant, a cation-active surfactant, a zwitterionic surfactant, an ampholytic surfactant and / or a non-ionic surfactant.
As already mentioned above, the inventive washing and cleaning agents contain the copolymers mentioned or their water-soluble salts, preferably as builders or builders, the water-soluble salts, in particular the alkali metal salts and ammonium salts of the copolymers, generally being even better for this purpose are suitable as the copolymer itself.
The inventive 68SCh- and Reiniprigsmi {S can contain the copolymers or their salts in an amount of 10 to 90 wt.%, Based on the total weight of the detergent or cleaning agent, in particular in an amount of 20 to 60 wt. %, based on the total weight of the detergent or cleaning agent.
In addition to the copolymers or their salts and the surfactant, the detergents and cleaning agents according to the invention can also contain at least one further component, for example substances that improve soil-carrying capacity, foam regulators, whiteners and / or proteolytic enzymes.
The lime capacity of the copolymers contained in the detergents and cleaning agents according to the invention is considerably higher than that which can be expected stoichiometrically
Amount. This means that the copolymers, or their water-soluble salts, produce an unexpected synergistic effect. This result is all the more astonishing since, according to P. Berth, G. Jakobi and E. Schmadel, Chemiker Zeitung 95 (1971), pages 548-553, it is known that the lime-carrying capacity of polyacrylic acid corresponds almost exactly to the stoichiometric ratio. As a result of the partial use of cheap acrylic acid for the production of the copolymer, its production costs are significantly reduced in comparison with poly-α-hydroxiacrylic acid.
This is very advantageous because, as mentioned above, the detergents and cleaning agents according to the invention preferably contain fairly large amounts of the copolymers or their salts.
In addition to the copolymers or their water-soluble salts, the detergents and cleaning agents according to the invention can also contain conventional builders, such as, for example, alkali metal polyphosphates.
Anionic or nonionic surfactants are preferred as the surfactant in the detergents and cleaning agents according to the invention.
Examples of anionic surfactants that can be used are the water-soluble salts of higher fatty acids or resin acids, such as sodium or potash soaps of hardened or unhardened coconut, palm kernel or rapeseed oil, and of tallow and corresponding mixtures thereof.
The following may also be mentioned: higher alkyl-substituted, mononuclear, aromatic sulfonates, such as alkylbenzenesulfonates with 9 to 14 carbon atoms in the alkyl radical, alkyltoluenesulfonates, alkylxylene sulfonates, alkylphenolsulfonates or alkylnaphthalene sulfonates and sulfated aliphatic alcohols, alcohol ethers such as sodium adecylsulfate or aluminum laurate - To understand lauryl sulfate, sodium or potassium oleyl sulfate, and the sodium or potassium salts of lauryl sulfate ethoxylated with about 2 to 6 moles of ethylene oxide and the like.
Compounds which have an organic hydrophobic group and a hydrophilic residue are generally referred to as nonionic surfactants for detergents and cleaning agents. Examples of such nonionic surfactants are the condensation products of alkylphenols with ethylene oxide or
of higher fatty alcohols with ethylene oxide, furthermore the condensation products of poly (ethylene oxide) with ethylene oxide or propylene oxide, and the condensation products of ethylene oxide with the reaction product of ethylene diamine and propylene oxide. Long-chain tertiary amine oxides also belong to the above-mentioned compounds.
Finally, the following compounds are to be included in the series of products with nanopholytic or zwitterionic character that are suitable as surfactant components of the 2ssh and cleaning agents according to the invention: Derivatives of aliphatic, secondary and tertiary amines or quaternary ammonium compounds with 8 to 18 carbon atoms and a hydrophilic group in the aliphatic residue , such as
Sodium 3dodecylaminopropionate, sodium 3-dodecylaminopropanesulfonate, 3- (M, M-l-dimethyl-N- he :: adecylamino) -propane-1-sulfonate or i-fatty acid amidoallsyl-N, M-dirlethyl2cetobetaill, where the fatty acid is 8 to 18 C atoms and the alkyl radical contains 3 C atoms.
Other additives that can also be part of the detergents and cleaning agents according to the invention are, for example, the alkali or ammonium salts of sulfuric acid, silicic acid, carbonic acid, boric acid, alkylene, hydroxy alkylene or aminoalkylene phosphonic acid, as well as bleaching agents, stabilizers for peroxide compounds and water-soluble organic complexing agents . In detail, the last-mentioned groups of compounds include sodium perborate mono- or tetrahydrate, alkali salts of peroximono- or disulfuric acid, peroxohydrates or ortho-, pyro- and polyphosphates, water-insoluble precipitated magnesium silicate, and the alkali salts of iminodiacetic acid, nitrilotriacetic acid and ethylenediamine.
Substances that increase the dirt-carrying capacity of washing liquors, such as carboxymethyl cellulose, polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinylpyrolidone or are suitable as foam regulators, such as mono- and dialkyl phosphoric acid esters with 1620 carbon atoms in the alkyl radical, as well as whiteners, disinfectants and / or proteolytic enzymes can be additional components of the washing and Be detergent.
The builders according to the invention and the detergents and cleaning agents containing them can be described as technically progressive since they prevent or delay the precipitation of calcium ions in the washing liquor to a considerable extent and also form stable dispersions with both hydrophilic and hydrophobic dirt particles.
Another advantage can be seen in the fact that these structural substances do not contain any phosphorus or nitrogen and thus do not favor the de-trophisation of natural waters. The lime-carrying capacity of the copolymers in the detergents and cleaning agents according to the invention surprisingly exceeds the stoichiometrically calculable value by more than double, while in the case of polyacrylic acid or its sodium salt the value of the stoichiometrically calculable lime-carrying capacity almost corresponds to the actual value. The proportions of poly-α-hydroxiacrylic acid are somewhat more favorable than those of polyacrylic acid, although there is also a striking difference compared with the builder according to the invention.
The invention is to be explained in more detail by the following examples, examples 16 describing the preparation of the structural substances according to the invention, while examples 7 and 8 explain the effectiveness of the structural substances with regard to the lime-carrying capacity or in a washing test in the presence of further detergent components.

213 g (2 mol) of α-chloroacrylic acid were dissolved in 7.5 1 Essovarsol (!) In a polymerization vessel and heated to 80 ° C. After adding 3.5 g of benzoyl peroxide, 720 g (10 mol) of acrylic acid were obtained within 3 In addition, four times 1.5 g of benzoyl peroxide were added at intervals of 1 hour each time. After a reaction time of 8 hours, the polymer was filtered off, washed with low-boiling petroleum ether and dried.

For hydrolysis, 80 g of the copolymer were boiled in 11 water for 3 hours. The solution was then evaporated to dryness. The yield of hydrolyzate was 69 g. The viscosity of a 1 percent strength by weight solution of the polymer in 2N aqueous NaOH at 20 ° C. was 0.55.
Example 7
The lime-carrying capacity (KTV) of the hydrolysis products prepared according to Examples 1-6 was determined by titration of an aqueous, sodium carbonate-containing solution which contained 0.2% by weight of the hydrolysis product and was adjusted to a pH of 10, with an aqueous 0, 05 normal calcium acetate solution until permanent cloudiness occurs. The measure of the lime-bearing capacity expresses how many milligrams of calcium ions are kept in solution by 1 g of the hydrolysis product.
The stoichiometric lime-bearing capacity of the hydrolysis products can be calculated using the following formula:
EMI3.1
<tb> atomic weight <SEP> approx
<tb> KTV <SEP> = <SEP> # <SEP> 1000 <SEP> = <SEP> 20 <SEP> 000 <SEP> # <SEP> mg <SEP> #
<tb> <SEP> 2xÄ <SEP> Ä <SEP> g
<tb> where Ä means the equivalent weight of the hydrolysis product. The latter was determined by Scidimetic titration.
In Table 2 below, the values obtained for the lime-carrying capacity of the products according to the invention are compared with the corresponding values for polyacrylic acid or poly- <x -hydroxiacrylic acid.
Table 2 Product Ä Lime-bearing capacity theoretically effective According to Example 1 81.4 246 310 According to Example 2 82.9 241 409 According to Example 3 82.8 242 425 According to Example 4 81.5 245 464 According to Example 5 84.5 237 684 According to Example 6 74.7 268 507 poly-acrylic acid 72.3 277 274 poly-α-hydroxy-82.5 242 265 acrylic acid
Table 2 shows the superiority of the products according to the invention over the comparison products with regard to the lime-carrying capacity, in that the first-mentioned products keep far more Ca ++ ions in solution than the constituents.
The poly-o: -hydroxiacrylic acid shown in Table 2 as a comparative product was prepared as follows: a) A mixture of 100 g of a-chloroacrylic acid, 400 ml of benzene and 1 g of benzoyl peroxide under a nitrogen atmosphere was poured into a round bottom flask equipped with a stirrer and reflux condenser for 3 hours Boiling heated. The precipitated polymer was separated off and dried at 40 ° C. in vacuo. The yield of poly-α-chloroacrylic acid was 100% of theory.
b) An aqueous solution of poly-α-chloroacrylic acid saturated at 309 ° C. was prepared and this solution was heated to boiling for 2 hours. The precipitated hydrolyzate was washed free of chlorine and dried at 60 ° C. in a vacuum. The yield of poly-α-hydroxy-acrylic acid was 77 g or 100% of theory. The hydrolyzate had a molecular weight of 2800 and a lime binding capacity of 265 mg Ca / g.
c) The sodium salt was obtained by neutralizing 25 g of the poly-a-hydroxiacrylic acid with 25 g of a 50% sodium hydroxide solution and evaporating the water.
Example 8
The detergency of washing liquors with a constant concentration of known detergent components, but with different amounts of builder A or B or C according to the invention, was determined on the basis of washing tests, and the results obtained are shown in FIG. Builders A, B and C are to be understood as meaning the sodium salts of the hydrolysis products prepared according to Examples 1, 3 and 6. For comparison, similar washing tests were carried out using the known builders D and E and the values obtained for the washing power were also shown in FIG. 1 in the form of curves. Builder D is to be understood as meaning the sodium salt of a polyacrylic acid, the 40 percent by weight aqueous solution of which has a viscosity of 1900 centipoise at 25 ° C.
Builder E relates to the sodium salt of poly-α-hydroxide acrylic acid, the preparation of which has been described above.
The washing tests were carried out with standard cotton fabric with Kefelder soiling in a Launder-O-meter at a washing liquor temperature of 95 "C. Standard fabrics with Krefeld soiling are in the book by Kurt Lindner Tenside, Textilhilfsmittel -Waschrohstoffe, Wissenschaftl. Verlagsgesellschaft Suttgart ( 1964), Volume II, page 1837.
The washing water had a German hardness of 20 "and a pH of 10. The washing time was 30 minutes and the liquor ratio, characterized by the ratio of (kg) laundry to (liter) washing liquor, 1:50 in the presence of 10 steel balls.
After the prescribed washing time had elapsed, the standard cotton fabric was rinsed once hot and once cold with water of the same hardness and then measured the degree of whiteness in an Elrepho reflectance photometer from Zeiss using the R 53 filter. The detergency was determined by the difference method, which results from the following equation: where% WK = WGg-% WGb% WK =% detergency% WG =% whiteness of the washed
Fabric% WGb =% white content of the unwashed
Substance.

To carry out the washing tests, a washing liquor with the following composition was used: 0.45 g / l dodecylbenzenesulfonate 0.15 g / l ethoxylated tallow fatty alcohol
11 moles of ethylene oxide per mole of alcohol 0.15 g / l hardened tallow soap 0.15 g / l magnesium silicate 0.15 g / l sodium silicate
1.25 g / l sodium perborne tetrahydrate 0.45 g / l sodium sulfate
0.05 g / L Tylose
0.2-2 g / l builder A, B, C, D or E ad 1000 ml water.
The washing power achieved with the individual wash liquors is demon striert by the curves of curves A to E, with curves A, B and C the results of
Washing experiments with the builders according to the invention, A,
B and C and curves D and E represent the results of washing tests with known builders D and E.
This shows that, for example, with a builder amount of 1.8 g / l wash liquor with the builders A, B and
C a detergency of 35.5% or 34.6 or 34.4% is achieved, while the builders under the same conditions
D nd E only give a washing power of 32.6% and 33.0%, respectively. These results also show the technical superiority of the builders according to the invention over the known builders in the standard washing test.
