Abstract

The power transmission pulley such as a rope or belt pulley, made of plastics material, has an elongated hub which extends some way beyond each face (4) for improved contact and alignment, and has one of the hub extensions (10) split at one position for locking onto a drive shaft. Two collars (6) are mounted one each side of the split, so that a securing bolt can be inserted and a locking nut fitted. When the nut is tightened, the hub grips the shift due to the resilience resulting from the split. In an alternative design, the split hub does not incorporate the collars for the screw, but instead the hub is flanged to retain a locking collar or ring, such as a hose clip.
