The present invention relates to a drive for a tracked vehicle with an internal combustion engine as the drive motor, a gearbox with branches for driving two chain wheels and a steering gear hydraulically driven by the drive motor with superimposed gears for influencing the two sprocket speeds, the steering gear comprising a high-pressure accumulator and means for its Charging to feed the steering gear and / or to support the drive motor in terms of power.
The present invention represents a further development of the drive described in the main patent. This is characterized in that the means for charging the high-pressure accumulator comprise a pump that can be used as a motor in order to at least partially supply the accumulated energy directly to the gearbox.
An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention will then be explained using a figure. The same parts of the main patent and the following description are designated the same. The figure shows a variant of a hydraulically driven steering gear according to FIG. 2 of the main patent with a superposition gear and a gearbox.
In the figure, the individual assemblies are shown schematically in their basic structure. The steering gear 3 hydraulically driven by the drive motor 1 has a hydraulic pump 15, a switchover valve 17 and a hydraulic motor 16. The hydraulic pump 15, which runs as a motor with the reverse flow of pressure medium from the accumulator 14, conveys pressure oil which, depending on the position of the switching valve 17, is pumped into the hydraulic motor 16 for steering assistance or into the high-pressure accumulator 14.
In the case of delivery in the hydraulic motor 16, its speed is adjusted according to the delivery rate of the hydraulic pump 15 and the applied torque. Since the hydraulic motor 16 is directly coupled to the superimposed shafts 11 and 12, their speed is dependent on the delivery rate of the hydraulic pump 15 and the applied torque.
The delivery rate of the hydraulic pump 15, in conjunction with the speeds of the intermediate shafts 4 and 5, causes the vehicle to be steered as a result of counter-rotation by means of a reverse gear 10 of the shafts 11 and 12.
In order for the car to move, the gearbox 2 must drive the ring gears 18 of the superposition gears 6 and 7 via the intermediate shafts 4 and 5. With zero delivery of the hydraulic pump 15 or with the switching valve 17 in such a way that no pressure oil can get into the hydraulic motor 16, the hydraulic motor 16 with the superimposed shafts 11 and 12 stands still, so the sun gears 19 of the superimposed gears 6 and 7 drive their webs 20 therefore the sprockets 8 and 9 according to the number of teeth of the transmission gears 6 and 7 at the same speed: The carriage drives straight ahead.
In order to be prepared for a steering movement, the switching valve 17 must be set for delivery to the hydraulic motor 16 and thus for the shafts 11 and 12 to rotate in opposite directions.
If the hydraulic pump 15 now feeds into the hydraulic motor 16, the latter rotates the superimposed shafts 11 and 12 in opposite directions. The sun gears 19 of the superposition gears 6 and 7 rotate in opposite directions and increase or decrease the speeds incoming from the intermediate shafts 4 and 5 accordingly, so that the sprockets 8 and 9 rotate at different speeds: The car travels a curve.
If the changeover valve 17 is set entirely to convey the pressurized oil into the high-pressure accumulator 14, then the steering gear 3 is at a standstill and the car travels straight ahead.
Normally, the high-pressure accumulator 14 is now charged immediately after the engine has been started but the car is still at a standstill. The usual overpressure and bypass valves, which shut off the delivery to the high-pressure accumulator 14 as soon as it is fully charged, are not shown.
If the switching valve 17 is now placed exclusively in the hydraulic motor 16 to discharge the high-pressure accumulator 14, a steering aid in the sense described is produced.
If, on the other hand, the accumulator 14 is discharged exclusively via the pump 15, which is connected as a motor, additional drive power is provided for straight travel via the gearbox 2. The vehicle is additionally accelerated via the movement originating from the drive motor 1 by the additional power output by the high-pressure accumulator 14 . However, by appropriately setting the switching valve 17, it is possible to use the discharge of the high-pressure accumulator 14 both to amplify a steering movement and at the same time to accelerate the vehicle.
Since a very considerable amount of energy can be stored in such a high-pressure accumulator, depending on the storage volume and pressure, it is readily possible to at least double the power of the drive motor 1 for a few seconds. The ability of the vehicle to accelerate can thereby be brought to at least the level that would be possible if the rated power of the drive motor 1 was available in the steady state. In addition, the output of steering power can also be increased beyond the usual level.
In this design, which is somewhat simpler in design due to the lack of an additional gear, as described in the main patent, the switching valve 17 serves to switch the high-pressure accumulator 14 exclusively to either the pump 15 which can be used as a motor when increased power is required , and thus to use the full energy for accelerated straight-ahead travel or to let this energy act as an additional steering aid via the motor 16. By appropriately setting this switching valve 17, it is also possible to feed part of the accumulated energy to the pump 15 running as a motor and the rest to the hydraulic motor 16 in order to both accelerate straight-ahead travel and increase steering power.
Despite the reversing gear, this version is simpler in structure than that described in the main patent.
