The invention relates to a joint seal, in particular of a channel, in which at least one end face of one component is designed for tight contact with a corresponding end face of an adjacent component.
Components of sewers or tunnels are usually sealed against each other by socket or tongue and groove connections and axially braced against each other with separate means.
The invention is based on the object of creating an improved joint seal which at the same time enables prestressing to be generated in the structural element or adjacent structural elements and allows assembly in the event of confusing installation, such as floating into the subsoil.
To solve this problem, a joint seal according to the invention provides that an expansion element is arranged between the end faces, which forms a closed cavity that can be pressed with a pressurized filler so that the end faces of the adjacent components are pushed apart.
The expansion element is preferably a closed hollow ring made of plastic or rubber with a rectangular cross section, the radial dimensions of which are adapted to the cross-sectional shape of the component. The ring can either be fixed to the end face of the component by at least one lug embedded in concrete or by inserting at least one lobe into a groove or by gluing. The ring is expediently closed by a prepared connecting piece with an inserted filling and venting nozzle.
The expansion element is e.g. can also be subdivided, so that different chambers are created which, on the one hand, enable differentiated pretensioning and, on the other hand, prevent the entire ring from leaking.
A use of the joint seal according to the invention comes into consideration particularly when creating a channel with several similar components in order to pretension and seal the components against each other by fixing at least two components of the channel and by pressing out the cavities formed by the expansion elements in the expansion element with the pressure to effect standing filler. If there are several elements, all joints are expediently pressed out at the same time. It is also possible, depending on the requirements, to change the tensioned filler under pressure.
Alternatively, the outermost components of the arrangement can be fixed with respect to the surroundings, or the fixing can be achieved by connecting components that are adjacent in the arrangement by means of tensioning strands guided along the outside of the components. The tensioning strands are only tensioned by pressing out the cavities formed by the expansion elements.
The joint can be refilled at any time from the inside of the duct through a nozzle and therefore re-tensioned.
The invention and advantageous details of the invention are explained in more detail below with reference to schematic drawings of exemplary embodiments.
Show it:
Fig. 1 is a perspective partial view of a component,
FIG. 2 shows an enlarged partial view as in FIG. 1, but cut open in the direction of the arrows III-III in FIG. 1,
3 shows a section along the line III-III, but with a corresponding counterpart of a component in contact with the end face of the component is additionally shown,
4 shows a schematic view of a pipeline constructed from structural elements,
5 is a partial section showing the bracing of two adjacent components in a row of such components,
6 shows an element for connecting the expansion element to form a closed ring,
7 shows a section similar to FIG. 3 through another embodiment of an expansion element, and
FIG. 8 shows a section similar to FIG. 3 with a modification.
The component 9 according to FIG. 1 is an octagonal tubular body. An expansion element 1 made of an expandable plastic is attached to the end wall of this tubular body.
The expansion element 1 consists of a tube which is approximately rectangular in cross section. The hose list is provided with at least one tab 2, which is used for fastening and sealing. The tab 2 is preferably set in concrete. As a result, the expansion element is fixed to the component. The tab 2 'is inserted into a groove 3 of an adjacent component 8 filled with a permanently plastic compound 4, such as cement. The flap 2 'still seals the joint, even if there is a large number of components and a gaping joint.
By pressing out the cavity 14 of the tube 1 with a filler, the radial walls 5 lean against the end faces 6, 7 of the components 8, 9, thereby sealing and transferring the pressure to the components 9, 8.
These are thus compressed, which previously could only be achieved by complex bracing with steel ropes and cables. The concrete can be used more cheaply in this way, and the building elements are free of cracks.
In the case of expected component settlements, the hose 1 is preferably filled with liquid or gaseous filler. The hose adapts itself automatically to changes in the joint by expanding or squeezing the expansion element or by shifting the filler. The filler can also be an agent that hardens after pressing, such as a hardening plastic or mortar. The expansion element can also be pressed out with an expandable filler.
In the event of different stresses over the circumference to be expected during operation, the hose is divided in the circumferential sense at 10 (FIG. 1).
Are components e.g. With their ends placed on piles, a greater pressure can be generated in the angle area 12 of the tube on the lower part 11 of the component, which is heavily stressed by bending tension, than in the rest of the tube part, which has a favorable effect on the stress from the component loading.
When building elements are driven by pressing them into the ground, the expansion elements are expediently divided into four sections over the entire circumference; This makes it possible to correct the direction of advance by applying different pressure in the individual chambers.
The expansion element is formed on the narrow sides 15 of the approximately square cross-section with greater wall thickness and / or provided with a suitable insert 16, because it is more stressed on the narrow sides when the joint opens up than on the radial walls where the hose is attached the end faces of the components is supported. The component 8 is therefore preferably designed with a recess 17 in which the hose 1 is also supported on the narrow sides and is guided when it is pressed out.
The expansion element is preferably joined together with at least one connecting piece 23 to form a closed ring (FIG. 6). The connecting piece, which is expediently coated on the outside at 26 with the same material as the expansion element, is a sheet metal part into which at least one ventilation nozzle (24) and one filler neck 25 are welded. The vent and filler necks are separated from one another by a partition 28, so that the hose 1 can be filled clockwise as seen in FIG. 6. The coating 26 and the expansion element can be connected along seams 27 by suitable measures such as welding.
The axial expansion of the expansion elements during pressing can be used to pretension several straight components or components lying one behind the other with a curve. An example of this is shown in FIG. The components are arranged in a row according to FIG. 4, the separating joints being indicated by cross lines in the row. In the arrangement according to Fig. 4 the outermost structural elements 18, 19 of the row are facing the environment, e.g. in the ground, fixed, as indicated by the two arrowheads 20, 21. When the expansion elements are pressed out with the filling agent under pressure, the intermediate elements 22 are supported against one another and against the fixed components 18, 19 on the outside, so that the individual components are compressed and thus a pretensioning is achieved.
Alternatively, in the embodiment according to FIG. 5, adjacent components 30, 31 are braced by means of tensioning strands 32, 33. The tensioning strands are received in longitudinal channels 34, 35 attached to the outside of the structural elements and are each concreted in one structural element and in the other structural element in the longitudinal channel, e.g. by concreting, held. The tensioning strands are not tensioned until the expansion elements 1 located between the two components 30, 31 are pressed out with the pressurized filler.
The expansion element shown in FIG. 7 consists of a ring 103 with a U-shaped cross section.
The radial area 104 of this ring, or the U-web as seen in FIG. 7, forms an outer wall. The axial areas or U-legs 105, 106 are in the end of the component
100 set in concrete. The axial areas 105 and 106 are connected to the radial area 104 of the ring 103 via beads 107,
108 connected, of which the radial area is axially folded back in the manner of a rolling diaphragm. The beads rest on the beveled side walls of an annular recess 112 in the end face 113 of a counterpart 114, preferably of a similar component. A closed cavity 115 is formed between the radial region 104 of the expansion element 103 that forms the outer wall and the end wall 102.
This cavity is via a e.g. The supply line guided through the joint between the two end walls 102, 113 can be poured by means of a pressurized, curable filler such as mortar or plastic. When the cavity 115 is filled, the radial area bulges
104 and, as shown in broken lines at 104 'in FIG. 7, rests against the bottom of the recess 112 under pressure.
This creates a seal between the end walls
102, 103 causes. In addition, the components 100 and 114 are pressed apart and thereby prestressed.
The embodiment according to FIG. 8 largely corresponds to that of FIG. 3. Identical or functionally identical parts are therefore provided with the same reference numerals in FIG. 8 as in FIG. 3 and are not described again.
The difference is that instead of filling the groove 3 and a tab 2 'with putty, a double wedge 200 thickening towards its end is arranged on the radial wall 5, e.g. is cast in that its one wedge half 201 is held in the component and its other wedge half 202 protrudes away from it against the hose 1. If the hose 1 is pressed out, it turns over the wedge half 202, so that a form-fitting holder for the hose is also created on the construction element 8.
The components described can also be used with confusing installation, e.g. by floating in, assemble and pretension without any problems.
The elements are washed into the subsoil one after the other and then prestressed.
The joint seal described is particularly advantageous in a sewer made of similar components.
Non-curable fillers, such as oil, water or non-curable plastic, can also be used.
