Gewebereste, entfernen.

The invention relates to a device for suctioning off knitted and fabric residues on a sewing machine with an edge trimmer. It is already known to suck off fabric residues from sewing machines and other textile machines. This is usually done by suction fans that are connected to suction lines with the interposition of filters.
The extracted material residues then have to be removed from the filters, which causes production to be interrupted. In addition, the ability to regulate the suction air flow is limited.
The invention aims to eliminate this disadvantage and to create a suction device in which the end of the suction tube can be guided into an open container, which can then be emptied or replaced during operation and which is also easier to regulate.
The invention consists in that the mouth of a suction pipe is arranged in the area of the presser foot, and that the mouth of a compressed air line is inserted into the mouth of the suction pipe to generate the suction air flow by ejector effect.
It is already known to direct a stream of air in front of the presser foot of a sewing machine through a nozzle connected to a compressed air source. However, this is done for a completely different purpose, namely to part the hair when sewing fur-like material to create an invisible seam.
An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing. It shows schematically part of a four-needle down arm sewing machine with a suction device according to the invention.
In the area of the presser foot 2 of a four-needle machine 1. which is used in a known manner with a knife 3 for trimming the edges along the seams of knitted fabrics, e.g.
in the manufacture of tights, is equipped, there is the mouth of a suction tube 4, of which only a short piece is shown. A flexible hose is expediently connected to the pipe 4 and is guided into an open container for the suctioned off knitted fabric residues. The end 5a of a compressed air line 5, which is bent by about 1800 and which runs parallel to the end of the suction tube 4, is inserted into the mouth of the suction tube 4, which is useful for reasons of space, since the needle holder 6 with the four needles 7 is not shown Cover plates is covered. The compressed air line 5 is, as indicated schematically, via a throttle valve 8 to a compressed air source 9, e.g. a compressed air line connected.
By introducing compressed air into the suction tube 4, a suction air flow is generated by ejector effect, which sucks off the cut off knitted fabric residues and conveys them into the collecting container. The suction effect can be regulated over a wide range by means of the throttle valve 8. It has proven to be expedient to use a suction pipe 4 with an inside diameter of about 18 mm and a compressed air line 5 with an inside diameter of about 3 mm.
Of course, other substances, e.g. Remove tissue remnants.
