Abstract

The noise insulating door has a double panel arrangement and includes a steel frame(1) with a groove(2). A conventional magnetic seal is arranged into this groove and on the inner timber or chipboard panel(5, 6). The door panel assembly(4-11) has an outer chipboard or timber panel(4) and the inner chipboard or timber panel(5). These panels are covered on both sides with a thin layer(6) of PVC film or veneer. The vertical edges of the panels are covered with a plastic strip(7). The inner and outer panels are covered near the edge with a flexible foam plastics layer(8). High noise insulating values are achieved with this relatively thin door arrangement.
