Abstract

A noise insulating double window has a caisson type frame bearing inner and outer windows via their own separate frames or casings, and on internal and external caisson edges, with inner and outer windows in a noise insulating arrangement with a bed of sound insulating material (8) on the inner caisson face between window frames, and with a caisson of four angle butted members (1-4) of aerated or foamed plastics. These latter members can be longitudinally profiled, are integrated, are of aerated P.V.C. and of 0.5 to 0.7 g/cu. cm. average apparent density. Resilient long life sealing beads and sound insulant properties are between the window frames and the caisson etc.
