1351723 Fire resistant frames and joints TIMBER RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION 4 May 1971 [5 Feb 1970] 5599/70 Addition to 1220404 Headings E1J E1R and E1W A strip of fire resistant material 13 has an intumescent coating 14 on its surface and a groove 15 along at least one edge thereof which accommodates a flexible sealing strip 16 or a panel edge or a key member. The seal is positioned on a door 11 and the fixed frame has a groove containing intumescent material 10. In Fig. 2 key member (21) joins adjacent panels. In Fig. 4 (not shown) the edges of fire resistant panels (21, 24) are received in grooves. (For Figures see next page)
