Abstract

1446857 Thermally insulating doors MOORE PLASTICS CO Ltd 22 Nov 1973 [23 Aug 1972] 39353/72 Heading E1J A thermally insulating sliding door suitable for cold storage rooms comprises a frame made up of channel section members 3, 4 and 5 and a member 6 and insulating panels 7 which are tongued and grooved and sealed together. The frame members are made of glass fibre reinforced plastics and are bolted together so that they can be detached to replace the panels which are made of foamed polyurethane 8 in a glass fibre reinforced plastics skin 9. Removable heating wires are disposed in neoprene guides 17, 19 and 21 along the edges of members 3 and 6 and along the face near the edges of members 4 and 5. Member 3 has a U-shaped rubber sealing strip 23 anchored in undercut grooves 22 and, in the case of automatically closing doors, a pneumatic sensor element 25 for a cut-out device.
