A tape for covering joints in constructional parts, comprises a tape of a thermoplastic resin or of an elastomer, one face of which is provided on two parallel edge zones (e.g. transverse) with a strip of a self-adhesive, the self-adhesive strip being protected before use by covering strips of readily removable material. The thermoplastic synthetic resin specified is polyisobutylene and the elastomer is butyl rubber, whilst the covering strips may be of siliconetreated paper or foil.
