Particularly preferably, R1 and / or R2 are a radical of the formula -alkylene-NR4-Z in which Z is the same as above and R4 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, preferably with at most 4 carbon atoms.
The groups R1 and R2 generally contain no more than 18 carbon atoms.
The azo dyes according to the invention are obtained by coupling a diazonium compound of an amine with a coupling component, at least one of the components, preferably the coupling component, having to contain a fiber-reactive group Z.
The above-mentioned diazo components of the formula D-NH2 can be used as diazo components without a fiber-reactive group Z.
Suitable coupling components which contain a fiber-reactive group Z are obtained by reacting one of the following components with an acid halide of the formula Z-Hal: 3-amino-N, N-bis-ss, ss-acetoxyethyl aniline, 3-amino-N , N- bis-ss, 2-cyanoethyl-aniline, 3-amino-N, N-bis-methyl-aniline, N, -aminopropyl-N-ethyl-aniline, 3-amino-N, N-bis-ethyl- aniline.
The diazotization of the diazo components mentioned can be carried out by methods known per se, for. B. with the help of mineral acid and sodium nitrite or z. B. with a solution of nitrosylsulfuric acid in concentrated sulfuric acid.
The coupling can also be carried out in a manner known per se, e.g. B. in neutral to acidic agents, optionally in the presence of sodium acetate or similar, the coupling rate influencing buffer substances or catalysts, such as. B. dimethylformamide, pyridine, respectively. its salts.
The coupling is also advantageously carried out by combining the components in a mixing nozzle. This is to be understood as a device in which the liquids to be mixed are combined with one another in a relatively small space, with at least one liquid being passed through a nozzle, preferably under increased pressure. The mixing nozzle can, for example, be constructed and work according to the principle of the water jet pump, whereby the supply of one liquid in the mixing nozzle corresponds to the water supply in the water jet pump and the supply of the other liquid to the mixing nozzle corresponds to the connection in the vessel to be evacuated of the water jet pump, this latter supply of liquid can also take place under increased pressure.
However, other suitable devices can also be used for rapid, possibly continuous mixing in a small space.
The new water-insoluble dyes, their mixtures with one another and their mixtures with other azo dyes are ideally suited for dyeing and printing leather, wool, silk, cotton, regenerated cellulose and, above all, synthetic fibers, such as acrylic or acrylonitrile fibers, polyacrylonitrile fibers and mixed polymers Acrylonitrile and other vinyl compounds, such as acrylic esters, acrylamides, vinyl pyridine, vinyl chloride or vinylidene chloride, copolymers of dicyanoethylene and vinyl acetate, as well as acrylonitrile block copolymers, fibers made of polyurethanes, base-modified polyolefins such as polypropylene, cellulose acetate and 2'k acetate and especially fibers from polyamides, such as nylon-6, nylon-6,6 or nylon-12 and from aromatic polyesters,
such as those made from terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol or 1,4-dimethylcyclohexane, and copolymers made from terephthalic and isophthalic acid and ethylene glycol.
For dyeing in aqueous liquors, the water-insoluble dyes are expediently used in finely divided form and dyed with the addition of dispersants, such as sulphite cellulose waste liquor or synthetic detergents, or a combination of different wetting and dispersing agents. As a rule, it is useful to convert the dyes to be used into a dye preparation which contains a dispersing agent and finely divided dye in such a form that a fine dispersion is formed when the dye preparations are diluted with water. Such dye preparations can in a known manner, for. B. by grinding the dye in dry or wet form with or without the addition of dispersants during the grinding process.
The new dyes dye hydroxyl, amino and / or amide-containing fibers, especially polyamide fibers, from weakly alkaline, neutral or weakly acidic baths, e.g. B. from acetic acid bath. A particular advantage of the new dyes is that they dye nylon fibers satisfactorily in a very wide pH range, from acidic to alkaline pH values. This also applies to wool.
The dyeings and prints obtained on polyamide fibers and wool with these dyes have excellent wet fastness properties, in particular good light; Wash, sweat, milled and water fastness.
In order to achieve strong dyeings on polyethylene terephthalate fibers, it has proven to be expedient to add a swelling agent to the dye bath or to carry out the dyeing process under pressure at temperatures above 100.degree. C., for example at 120.degree. Suitable swelling agents are aromatic carboxylic acids such as salicylic acid, phenols such as o- or p-oxydiphenyl, aromatic halogen compounds such as o-dichlorobenzene or diphenyl.
To heat-set the dye, the padded polyester fabric, expediently after previous drying, for. B. in a warm air stream to temperatures of over 100 "C, for example between 180 to 210" C, heated.
The dyeings obtained according to the present process can be subjected to an aftertreatment, for example by heating with an aqueous solution of an ion-free detergent.
Instead of by impregnation, the specified dyes can also be applied by printing according to the present process. For this purpose one uses z. B. a printing ink which contains the finely dispersed dye in addition to the auxiliaries customary in printing, such as wetting agents and thickeners.
The present process gives strong dyeings and prints with good fastness properties.
The new water-insoluble dyes can also be used for spin dyeing polyamides, polyesters and polyolefins. The polymer to be colored is expediently mixed in the form of powder, grains or chips, as a finished spinning solution or in the molten state with the dye, which is introduced in the dry state or in the form of a dispersion or solution in an optionally volatile solvent. After homogeneous distribution of the dye in the solution or melt of the polymer, the mixture is processed into fibers, yarns, monofilaments, films, etc. in a known manner by casting, pressing or extruding.

7-bromo-benziso-violet thiazole Example 3
2.3 parts of 3-chloro-amino-phenylmethylsulphone (90.5%) are diazotized at 20 to 25 parts by volume of 0.5N-nitrosylsulfuric acid, stirred for one hour and mixed with 20 parts by volume of a mixture of glacial acetic acid / propionic acid (6: 1) diluted.
This diazo solution is added dropwise at 0 to 5 to a solution of 3.1 parts of the amine (regulation IV) in 100 parts by volume of acetone. The coupling has ended after 3 hours. The dye of the formula
EMI19.2
is precipitated by adding sodium acetate solution, filtered off with suction, washed neutral and dried. An orange-red product is obtained which dyes nylon fibers in red shades.
Example 4
20.55 parts of 4-amino-3-chlorophenyl-methylsulfone are diazotized and coupled at 0 to 5 with 37.3 parts of IADifluorotriazinyl-f amino-7-oxynaphthalene in a weakly alkaline medium to form the monoazo dye
The dye of the formula which is insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents
EMI20.1
is isolated and dried in vacuo. It is a dark powder which dyes polyamide and wool fibers in bright scarlet shades with particularly good wet fastness properties. Example 5
10 parts of nylon 6,6 tricot fabric (Helanca) are placed in a dye bath at 30,
which in 400 parts by volume of water contains 8 parts of sodium bicarbonate and 2 parts of a 50% above aqueous dispersion of the dye obtained in Example 1 and has a pH of 7.9. It is heated to boiling temperature in the course of 45 minutes and then dyed at the boil for 75 minutes. The textile material is then rinsed well with water and dried. A brilliant yellowish red coloration with a high proportion of non-extractable dye is obtained.
Example 6
The procedure is as in Example 5, but instead of the sodium bicarbonate, 0.8 part of an adduct of 9 moles of ethylene oxide and 1 mole of nonylphenol is used, the pH of the dyebath being 7.0. A similarly brilliant coloration as in Example 6 is obtained.
Example 7
The procedure is as in Example 5, but 0.4 part of ammonium acetate is used instead of the sodium bicarbonate and, after 75 minutes, 0.1 part of the above-mentioned acetic acid is added. After the addition of acetic acid, the pH of the dyebath is 5.6. The textile material used is 10 parts of nylon 6 tricot fabric (Perlon). A similarly brilliant color as in Example 5 is obtained.
Example 8
The procedure is as in Example 5, but 10 parts of bleached wool tricot fabric are used as the textile material. A similarly brilliant color as in Example 5 is obtained.
If you then boil the fabric with an alkaline soap solution or a soda solution, you get particularly true colorations.
Example 9
In a dyebath which contains, in 400 parts of water, 0.8 parts of an adduct of 9 moles of ethylene oxide and 1 mole of nonylphenol and 2 parts of a 50% dispersion of the dye described in Example 1, dyeing is started at 30 in a high-temperature dyeing machine Parts of polyester tricot fabric (textured polyester fabric Crimplene). The pH of the liquor is 7.0.
The temperature is increased to 1200 in 15 minutes, with a pressure of about 2 atmospheres. The dyeing is carried out at 1200 for 45 minutes and then cooled to 650 in the course of 10 minutes. The textile material is then rinsed with cold water and dried. A brilliant, boil-fast and washable, but extractable orange color is obtained.
Example 10
The dyeing is carried out as in Example 9, but using a polyacrylonitrile high-bulk tricot fabric (high bulk Orlon> aTricot).
A brilliant, boil-fast and washable, but extractable orange color is obtained.
The dye dispersions used above are obtained by milling 20 parts of dye with 140 parts of water and 40 parts of sodium dinaphthylmethanedisulphonic acid.
Example 11
You go with 10 parts of nylon 6,6 tricot fabric (Helanca) at 30 in a dyebath, which in 400 parts by volume of water, 0.2 parts of 800 / above acetic acid and 2 parts of a 50 / aqueous dispersion of the Contains dye obtained according to Example 1 and has a pH of 4-5. It is heated to boiling temperature in the course of 45 minutes and then colored at the boil for 30 minutes. The pH is then adjusted to 12 by adding soda and the mixture is boiled for a further 30 minutes. The textile material is then rinsed well with water and dried. A brilliant yellowish red dyeing with a high proportion of non-extractable dye is obtained.
Example 12
One goes with 10 parts of nylon 6,6 tricot fabric (Helanca) at 30 in a dyebath, which in 400 parts by volume of water, 0.2 part of 800 / above acetic acid and 2 parts of a 50 / above aqueous dispersion of the Contains dye obtained according to Example 1 and has a pH of 4-5. In the course of 60 minutes, the mixture is heated to 70 ° C., kept at this temperature for 15 minutes, brought to the boil within 30 minutes and colored at the boil for 60 minutes.
The textile material is then rinsed well with water and dried. A brilliant yellowish red coloration with a high proportion of non-extractable dye is obtained.
