Insecticidal food poison effect Cotton plants and potato plants were sprayed with a 0.05% aqueous active substance emulsion (obtained from a 10% emulsifiable concentrate).
After the covering had dried on, the cotton plants were populated with Disdercus fasciatus nymphs and the potato plants with Colorado beetle larvae (Leptinotarsa decemlineata). The experiment was carried out at 24 C and 60% relative humidity.
In the above test, the compounds according to Examples 1 to 4 showed a good insecticidal feed poison action against Disdercus fasciatus and Leptinotarsa decemlineata.
Example 6
Systemic insecticidal effect
To determine the systemic effect, rooted bean plants (Vicia faba) were placed in a 0.01% strength aqueous active ingredient solution (obtained from a 10% strength emulsifiable concentrate). After 24 hours, aphids (Aphis fabae) were placed on the above-ground parts of the plant. The animals are protected from contact and gas effects by a special device. The experiment was carried out at 24 C and 70% relative humidity.
In the above test, the compounds according to Examples 1 to 4 showed a good systemic insecticidal action against Aphis fabae.
Example 7
Acaricidal effect a) Effect on mites (Tetranychus urticae)
To test the acaricidal effect, bean leaves which had been infected by adalte, dormant stages and eggs of the red spider mite (Tetranychus urticae) were treated with a 0.05% aqueous emulsion of the substance to be tested (prepared from a 25% emulsifiable concentrate). The experiment was evaluated after 6 days.
Strains of the red spider mite that are resistant to phosphoric acid esters are used as test animals.
b) Effect on ticks (Boophilus microplus) and their stages of development
For the following experiment, 10 adult, mature ticks were immersed for 3 minutes in aqueous active substance emulsions (for concentrations see 2nd column).
The ticks were then kept at 27 ° C. and 80% relative humidity. On the 5th, 10th. On the 15th and 15th days, the oviposition was determined.
The compounds according to Examples 1 to 4 tested according to tests a and b given above showed good activity against Tetranychus urticae and Boophilus nnicroplus.
Example 8
Fungicidal action a) Action against Botrytis cinerea on Vivia faba
In Petri dishes, which have been lined with moistened filter paper, three fully developed, equally-sized leaves of Vicia faba were placed, which were prepared with a stock (0.05% active substance content) made from the active substance formulated as a 10% wettable powder Sprayer drip was sprayed. When the leaves were dry again, they were infected with a freshly prepared, standardized spore suspension of the fungus (concentration: 100,000 spores / ml) and kept in a humid atmosphere at 20 ° C. for 48 hours. After this time, they showed black, initially point-like spots that spread rapidly.
The number and size of the infection sites were used as a yardstick for assessing the effectiveness of the test substance.
b) Action against Erysiphe cichoracearum on Cucumis sativus
Young Cucumis sativus plants were sprayed with a 0.05% suspension of the active ingredient formulated as a wettable powder and after the spray coating had dried on with a spore suspension of the fungus.
After 8 days in the greenhouse at about 23 ° C., the degree of infestation (proportion of the leaf surface covered by the mycelium coating) on the infected, treated leaves was determined in comparison with untreated, infected controls.
c) Action against Uromyces appendiculates on Phaseolus vulgaris
Phaseolus vulgaris plants in the two-leaf stage were sprayed to runoff with a suspension of the substance formulated as a wettable powder (conc. 0.05% active substance). After the spray coating had dried on, the plants were infected with a fresh spore suspension of the bean grate and then kept for one day in a moist chamber, for 12 days in a greenhouse at 20-22 ° C.
The number and size of the rust pustules served as an evaluation standard for the effectiveness of the test substances.
d) Action against Phytophthora infestans
Solanum Lycopersicum
S. Lycopersicum plants of the same variety and in the same stage of development were treated with a broth containing 0.05% active ingredient (made from the active ingredient that had been worked up to a wettable powder). After the spray coating had dried on, the plants were sprayed to runoff with a zoospore suspension of Ph. Infestans.
They then remain in the greenhouse for 6 days at 18-20 ° C. and high humidity (95-100%) and after this time they show typical leaf spots. The tested substance is assessed on the basis of their number and size.
The compounds according to Examples 1 to 4 showed good fungicidal activity in the above tests a to d.
Example 9
Effect against soil nematodes
To test the action against soil nematodes, the active ingredients were added in the specified concentration to soil infected by root cell nematodes (Meloidogyne Avenaria) and mixed intimately. Tomato seedlings were planted immediately afterwards in the soil prepared in this way in test series A and tomatoes were sown in test series B after a residence time of 8 days.
To assess the nematocidal effect, the galls present on the roots were counted 28 days after the plants or after the sowing.
In this test, the active ingredients according to Examples 1 to 4 showed a good action against Meloidogyne Avenaria.
