Abstract

Prepn. of a photographic matrix comprises applying a subbing layer consisting of a 0.75-2.5% soln. of a mixture of 70-45% vinyl copolymer and 30-55% gelatin hardener in an org. solvent to a cellulose acetate support, and then applying to the subbing layer a dispersion of acid gelatin in one or more org. solvents so that some of the gelatin hardener migrates from the subbing layer to the acid gelatin layer to produce a concn. of hardener within the gelatin layer which decreases across the gelatin layer from the subbing layer. Dye transfer printing, particularly of motion picture films. Excellent adhesion of the photosensitive emulsion to the cellulose acetate support during processing.
