Connection fitting for fittings, for example of sanitary installation systems The invention relates to a connection fitting for fittings, for example of sanitary installation systems.
It is known, for example, in water pipe installations, the fittings, such as mixer taps and. Like. To connect with the intermediary of tubular intermediate pieces with a wall outlet attached in or on the installation wall. The inlet opening of each intermediate piece is screwed into the wall outlet, which can be designed as a wall disk, fitting or similar connecting element, and the outlet opening of each intermediate piece is connected to a connection piece of the fitting by means of a union nut.
By arranging such spacers, if a fitting has several connections, for example a cold water and a hot water connection, inaccuracies in the arrangement of the wall outlets fastened in or on the installation wall can be compensated for, especially if the spacers used are designed so that their outlet opening is arranged eccentrically to the inlet opening.
By turning these spacers, it is possible to carry out an exact installation of the fittings even if the distance between the wall panes or the like deviates slightly from the target value.
Another source of error when connecting fittings to wall outlets occurs if these wall outlets are either not arranged parallel to the outer surface of the installation wall or if the wall disks or fittings do not have straight threads. If such wall panes or similar fittings are mounted with a single connection, these fittings are not perpendicular to the wall and this results in an unsightly appearance.
If, however, fittings with several connection points are to be connected to wall disks that are not arranged parallel to the outer surface of the wall or that have a thread that is not straight cut, when connecting the wall disks screwed into this wall and due to the incorrect arrangement or design of these wall disks Non-parallel intermediate pieces on the connection pieces of the fittings, which run parallel, create tensions in the individual components which, for example, can lead to the formation of hairline cracks and thus to an early destruction of the fittings or the connection pieces.
The present invention seeks to avoid these disadvantages and consists in the fact that both the end face of the outlet opening of the intermediate piece and the surface of the connecting piece opposite this end face have the shape of a spherical section, the radius of curvature of the spherical section of the connecting piece being at least as large as the radius of curvature of the spherical segment of the intermediate. Piece.
Because both the end face of the outlet opening of the intermediate piece and the corresponding surface of the connecting piece are shaped like a spherical section, it is possible to close the connecting piece and with it the fitting on all sides by a certain angular amount with respect to the intermediate piece Pivot, so that even if the intermediate pieces do not protrude perpendicularly from the outer surface of the installation wall due to incorrect arrangement or design of the wall panels, a perpendicular position of the fitting can be set to this outer surface.
Above all, however, with the design of the connection fitting according to the invention, it is possible to connect a fitting having a plurality of connection pieces to non-parallel intermediate pieces without undesired stresses occurring in the work pieces.
The radius of curvature of the spherical section of the connecting piece is expediently the same as the radius of curvature of the spherical section of the intermediate piece and the centers of the radii of curvature of both spherical sections are arranged on the axis of symmetry of the connecting piece. In such an arrangement there is not only a line contact, but a surface contact between the end face of the intermediate piece and the corresponding surface of the connecting piece, whereby the seal is improved.
A further improvement in the seal and the connection between the intermediate piece and the connection piece can be achieved in that the surface of the union nut resting on the end face of the intermediate piece is also shaped like a spherical segment,
wherein the radius of curvature of this spherical section is preferably larger than the radius of curvature of the end face of the intermediate piece and the radius of curvature of the surface of the connecting piece opposite this end face.
It is also advantageous if the connecting piece is designed as a part that can be screwed into the fitting and on which the union nut is supported. Connection fittings formed in this way can be exchanged in a simple manner, so that it is possible to use the same fittings for previously customary connection fittings and, if necessary, to provide a connection fitting according to the invention simply by exchanging the connection piece, union nut and intermediate piece. with which the advantages explained above can be achieved.
A sealing ring can be inserted between the end face of the intermediate piece and the face of the connecting piece opposite this end face. When arranging such a sealing ring, it is not necessary to grind the spherical sections of the connecting piece and the intermediate piece, but the spherical sections can be produced by turning, whereby the manufacturing process can be made cheaper.
The invention is illustrated schematically in the drawing using an exemplary embodiment. Fig. 1 shows a mixer tap for hot and cold water connection with connection fittings designed according to the invention, partly in section. FIG. 2 shows an intermediate piece in section, FIG. 3 shows a connection piece in section, and FIG. 4 shows a union nut in section.
In Fig. 1, a conventional mixer tap 1 is shown as it is generally used ver in water pipe installations. The connection to the wall disks, not shown, arranged in the installation wall, he follows via intermediate pieces 2 and screwed into the mixer 1 connecting pieces 3, which are verbun with the intermediate pieces 2 by means of a union nut 4 the.
The inlet opening 5 of the intermediate pieces 2 is arranged eccentrically to the outlet opening 6 so that the distance between the center line of the inlet openings can be adapted to the distance from the disks arranged in the installation wall.
In order to be able to fix the fitting on the intermediate pieces 2 properly and without tension even with wall disks that are not arranged parallel to the surface of the installation wall or have not straight cut threads, both the end face 7 of the outlet opening 6 of the intermediate pieces 2 are The surface 8 of the connecting piece 2 opposite this end face 7 is also designed in the form of a spherical segment.
The radius of curvature r1 of the end face 7 and the radius of curvature r2 of the surface 8 of the connecting piece 2 opposite this end surface 7 are equal, so that when the fitting is installed, the centers of the radii of curvature, which are arranged on the axis of symmetry 9 of the connecting piece 3, coincide.
The surface 10 of the union nut 4, which rests on the end surface 7 of the intermediate piece 2, is also shaped like a spherical segment, but the radius of curvature r3 of this surface 10 is slightly larger than the radii of curvature r1 and r2.
This dimensioning of the radii of curvature of the individual spherical sections results in surface contact between the intermediate piece 2 and the connecting piece 3, so that a good seal between the end face 7 and the face 8 is ensured even when these faces are designed as spherical faces. This seal can be further improved if a sealing ring 11, for example made of polytetrafluoroethylene, is inserted between the surfaces 7 and 8.
The union nut 4 is supported on a shoulder 12 of the connection piece 3 and can be exchanged together with this connection piece, so that it is possible to exchange a connection set, in which the surfaces 7 and 8 are flat, for a connection set designed according to the invention.
