Stranding machine for cables The present invention relates to a stranding machine for stranding pairs or fours of a cable.
During the stranding process of pairs or fours, the conductors or the pairs are guided through a stranding head and various capacitance and inductance inequalities occur, e.g. B. from side to side, from phantom to side, from side to earth or from phantom to earth. Such inequalities usually occur with uneven insulation and with uneven tension of the conductors or the conductor pairs in the stranding machine. However, other causes are also possible.
To date, innumerable arrangements have been proposed to eliminate such irregularities by moving the stranding head. A well-known method is to let the stranding head rotate a little faster or a little slower than the pair or the foursome. Another method is to periodically move the stranding head back and forth, along the axis of the pair or quad, so that the stranding point is moved back and forth.
Another method is to move the stranding head along a curve in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the pair or quad.
However, none of these arrangements has given entirely satisfactory results and it is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a method by which satisfactory results can be obtained in all cases.
A feature of the present invention is that the stranding head is rotated alternately to the left and to the right with respect to the pair or the quad.
The pair or the four is thereby subjected to an alternating left and right rotation of the stranding head and because of the different tangential friction of the various conductors, the irregularities are alternately plus or minus. This causes minor irregularities such. B. from side to side, phantom to side, side against earth or phantom against earth.
Exemplary embodiments of the invention will now be explained in more detail using the drawing, for example. Therein shows: FIG. 1 schematically a star quad stranding machine with rotating unwinding drum and stationary winding drum; and FIG. 2 schematically shows a star-quad stranding machine with a rotating winding device and a stationary unwinding device.
In both figures there are four conductors 1 which pass through individual bores in a sheet 2 from supply reels (not shown). The four conductors then pass a stranding head 3 and the completed four is then wound onto a take-up reel 5.
Fig. 1 shows that the unwinding device has the ply plate 2, which rotates with a speed W Drehgeschwindig. The quad consequently also rotates at the rotational speed W, and the stranding head should therefore rotate alternately left and right with reference to this rotational speed.
The rotation speed W2 of the stranding head is therefore alternately W2 = Wi -h- W3 and W2 = W1 - W.1. The values W3 and W.4 can e.g. B. be chosen so that both are equal to W. In this case the stranding head rotates once at twice the speed and in the same direction as the unwinding device and the other time it does not rotate.
Any suitable drive means 6 can be used to rotate the stranding head 3. Similar drive means can be used to make the unwinding device rotate together with the ply plate.
In FIG. 2 it is indicated that the winding device rotates at the rotational speed W 1. In this case the quad and the ply plate will not rotate, i.e. H.
the four conductors 1 always enter the stranding head in the same position and are only twisted by the stranding head, so that in this case the stranding head has to rotate alternately to the left and to the right, based on the standstill. The rotation speed W2 of the stranding head is therefore alternately W2 = W3 and W2 = W4, i.e. H.
W2 = W4. The values W3 and W4 can be selected so that both values are equal to W1. In this case, the stranding head would alternately rotate at the same speed and in the same direction as the winding device or at the same speed but with the opposite direction of rotation as the winding device.
It should be noted that the above-mentioned values W3 and W4 can of course be selected to be different from each other and from W1.
The device was described above in connection with the stranding of star fours, but it is understood that this could also be used in connection with pairs or other fours. The rotation of the stranding head does not cause the pairs or fours to untwist.
The device could also be used for stranding machines that use both a rotating Ruf winder and a rotating unwinder. The period of time during which a clockwise or counterclockwise rotation takes place could also be changed.
