Electrical equipment for filing The present invention relates to an electrical equipment for filing according to the claim of the main patent, that is to say that it comprises an elongated casing, forming a handle, enclosing an electric motor, and in which is mounted so as to be able to move longi tudinally a pad projecting out of the housing, the inner part of this pad being connected to said electric motor while its outer part carries a file, and by the fact that said motor is a current motor continuous at low voltage, in which the rotary movement of the shaft is transformed,
by mechanical means, in a reciprocating back-and-forth movement of said pad.
In one embodiment described by way of example of the main patent, said mechanical means are constituted by two angle gears, the first of which is mounted on the motor shaft, coinciding with the longitudinal axis of the 'apparatus, while the second angle pinion has an axis perpendicular to that of the apparatus.
The use of angle gears, one of which is mounted on an extension of the front part of the housing and the other in the rear part of said housing, requires precise adjustment of the point of engagement of the angle gears when that the two said parts fit together. Such an adjustment is long and expensive.
The object of the present invention is to remedy this drawback and the apparatus which is the subject thereof is characterized by the fact that said mechanical means are constituted by two pinions with straight teeth.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the electrical equipment to be filed which is the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is an elevation view thereof.
Figs. 2 and 3 are longitudinal sections through two perpendicular planes, on a larger scale. The filing apparatus shown comprises a housing in two parts, 25 and 26, made of plastic, for example polystyrene or other thermoplastic resin, of generally cylindrical shape, forming a handle, enclosing an electric motor 27, direct current. The front part 25 of the casing has an extension 25a (FIG. 3) on which is fixed a journal 28 perpendicular to the axis of the apparatus. A spur gear 29, consisting of a large diameter field toothed wheel, turns freely on the journal 28.
The motor 27, fitted without fixing screws in the rear part 26 of the housing, is held in place by means of a spring washer 30, one side of which comes to rest against the motor, while its outer part is clamped in the 'housing bore against which it braces.
The shaft 31 of the motor carries a spur gear 32, in this case a straight toothed wheel, of small diameter. meshing with the right pinion 29. @This last door, my tee eccentrically, a pin 33, the axis of which is parallel to that of the pinion.
The front part 25 of the housing is pierced with a longitudinal step, the rectangular section of which corresponds to that of a shoe 34 slidably engaged in this passage. The latter has, on its two opposite faces furthest from one another, two grooves 35 in which balls 36 can roll freely, housed in recesses 37 made in the shoe 34. These two grooves have a semi-circular profile. circular, so as to guide the balls 36, and to keep the pad 34 in position, with a minimum of play.
The inner end of the shoe 34 has a transverse notch 38 (fig. 2) in which the pin 33 of the pinion 29 is freely engaged. This pin 33 being eccentric, it is obvious that, when the electric motor 27 rotates, the movement eccentric rotary of this pin produces a longitudinal back and forth movement of the pad 34.
The outer end of the pad 34 has a size 39 in which the working tool is engaged, in this case a nail file 40 consisting of a support, of metal or plastic, in which crystals are encrusted. more or less fine abrasive powder, the action of which is exerted in all directions. A small metal file can also be used with this apparatus and would find use with jewelers, craftsmen and persons performing delicate work in mechanics or electronics, for example.
As can be seen in fig. 2 and 3 in particular, the supply current is brought to the motor 27 by an electric horn 41. A self-lubricating bearing 42 is mounted coaxial with the longitudinal axis of the apparatus and allows the wise passage of the rod of a rotary tool, such as a milling cutter or a grinding wheel, engaged in the slot of a sleeve 43 driven on the posterior end of the shaft 31.
The speed of the reciprocating movement of the tool 40 is a function of the ratio of the diameters of the two straight toothed pinions 29 and 32. By increasing this ratio, more power is obtained and a lower number of bone cillations. per second. The use of straight toothed pinions 29 and 32 makes it possible to fit the parts 25 and 26 of the casing without having to take into account the exact point of engagement, as is the case with angle pinions.
