<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

.Convenient sharpening device with rotary sharpening tool for the two cutting tools (wing knife and perforated disc) of mincers - meat.
The present invention relates to a convenient rotary sharpening tool apparatus for sharpening the two cutting tools (wing knife and perforated disc) of choppers. The invention consists in that, in order to give an exterior cutting surface perfectly united to the perforated disc, the apparatus has alongside a thin sharpening plate for sharpening the lateral cutting surface of the wing knives, and advantageously on the side. the same axis, a large cylinder for sharpening the perforated disc, which cylinder emerges by an adjustable amount, in the manner known per se, from the slot of a table mounted on springs.
The accompanying drawing represents an example of execution of the object of the invention.

Fig. 1 is a front view.
Fig. 2 is a broken plan view.
Fig. 3 is a section taken along line A-B of fig.l.
In the vertical walls 1 and 2 of a box-shaped support body with U section is mounted a shaft 3 on ball bearings 4. Between the walls 1 and 2 of the support body is fixed on the shaft. 9 a sharpening cylinder 5, while the projecting ends of the shaft carry, on one side, a rope pulley 6 and, on the other, a sharpening plate 7. In the upper part of the walls 1 and 2 bolts 8 are screwed on at the ends of the support body, on which a guide plate 9 resting on pressure springs 10 is vertically guided.
In the guide plate 9 is provided a recess 11 in which the cylinder to. sharpen penetrates through part of its periphery. The height at which the upper surface of the guide plate 9 lies relative to the top line of the sharpening cylinder 5 can be adjusted by means of the wing nuts 12 mounted on the threaded bolts 8 and the pressure springs 10 acting in the opposite direction.
The perforated disc is driven on the surface of the guide plate against the sharpening surface of the cylinder 5 in the same way as the planing body is driven on the table of wood planers against the tool-holder shaft .
In one of the walls, the wall 2 of the support body, there is, at a reinforced location 13, a threaded hole into which is screwed a threaded sleeve 15 closed at one of its ends. In this sleeve is housed a movable support rod 17 undergoing the pressure of a spring 16, which support rod has, at its end emerging from the sleeve 15 and from the support body, a bearing 18 and is guided in the sleeve 15 , by means of guide rods 20 arranged on its periphery and engaging in guide grooves 19 of the sleeve 15,
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
so as to be able to move longitudinally, but not to turn.
The displacement of the sleeve in the wall 2 is prevented by a lock nut 21 acting as a clamping ring and resting against the wall 2 of the support body. In the bearing 18 of the support rod 15 can rotate a knife holder 22 having at its upper end a tenon 23 which serves to receive the wing knife and therefore has a sectional shape corresponding to that of the hub of the wing knife.
In the front surface of the bearing 18, constructed in the form of a button 25, there is housed, in a channel, a stop pin 28 capable of moving under the pressure of a spring 27 and held by a spring. threaded plug 28; this stop pin engages, by its conical end, in appropriate recesses 29 provided in the journal of the knife holder 22 These recesses (notches) exist in a number equal to that of the arms of the knife and serve to hold the knife arm in the position required for sharpening relative to the sharpening plate. When the moment of rotation increases, the spring 27 gives way and allows the knife holder 22 to perform a partial rotation in its bearing until the stop pin 26 enters the following recess 29.
For sharpening, a winged knife 24 (see mixed lines) is mounted on the tenon 23 of the knife holder 22. When the stop pin has engaged in one of the notches, one arm of the knife is in the position necessary for sharpening and it is possible, by pushing the support rod 17 into the sleeve 15 against the pressure of the spring 16, to guide this knife arm by its cutting edge 30 along the turntable 7 The rods.1 and 3 show the knife holder 22 with the knife 23 in one of its extreme positions, the support rod 17 being fully inserted into the sleeve and the spring 16 being completely compressed.
The arrangement is usefully such that, due to the position of the knife relative to the sharpening plate, the cutting edge is immediately sharp at the con- tenable angle.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
In order to take into account the wear of the sharpening plate and of the knife, a threaded body is constructed as a guide body into which the sleeve 15 is screwed and arranged so that it can be moved and fixed in a speech guide 2
