End signal device for railway trains The invention relates to a end signal device for railway trains which has a feed valve which is connected to a compressed air line leading through the train and a signaling device and is monitored by a pneumatic actuating device. Such signal devices are known.
The end wagons of almost all railroad trains are provided with a plug-on tail lamp, which is replaced by a colored pane during the day, in accordance with regulations. The presence of this signal at station stops and crossings confirms that the train composition has been carried intact to the end. In many cases, the locomotive driver or the station staff is informed about the presence of the train tail by whistling signals. When passing through, the tail lamp or window is observed by the station staff alone.
The purpose of the invention is to design the known end-of-train signaling device in such a way that it enables the output of a signal when the train passes from driving to standstill or from standstill to driving, so that the various whistle signals to be given by train personnel are superfluous. This is particularly desirable when it is necessary to drive without train escorts in order to save personnel.
According to the invention, the closing signal device has a mass responsive to shaking movements that occur when the train is in motion, which when responding actuates an auxiliary valve that influences the loading of the pneumatic actuating device with compressed air in such a way that when the transition is made Train from at least one of two operating states formed by standstill and driving to the other, the activation of the signal device is prepared at least least.
It can be expedient to design the signaling device in such a way that the signal is emitted automatically when the train passes from running to standstill. In addition, it may be desirable to send a signal when the train changes from standstill to running in order to inform the locomotive driver about the completeness of the train when it leaves a station.
In those cases where it is sufficient to signal the transition from driving to standstill, it may also be useful to only prepare the signaling by the device and, on the other hand, to make the execution of the signal dependent on the making of a brake.
In the drawings, exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown schematically with the train stopped and the lines filled. 1 shows a first embodiment, FIG. 2 shows a second embodiment, FIG. 3 shows a third embodiment, FIG. 4 shows an embodiment with a pneumatically controlled signal-emitting transmitter.
5 shows a tail signal device controlled by a liquid switch, FIG. 6 shows the combination of a tail signal device with a tail light.
In the exemplary embodiments, as FIG. 6 shows, the tail signal device is accommodated in a housing 109 which is combined with the tail lamp 108. A compressed air line 80 leading through the train is provided with a shut-off valve 81 and a coupling hose 82. The closing signal device has a hose 84 which is connected on a line 12 to a fastening piece 85. The hose 84 can be connected to the coupling hose 82 via a coupling 83.
According to FIG. 1, the line 12 verse with a throttle 11 leads compressed air into a pressure chamber 13 of an auxiliary valve 6, in which a spring 14 presses a valve plate 15 against its seat 16. A mass 23 consisting of a solid body is displaceably guided in a recess of the housing and is pressed by a spring 22 against a stop 24 in a rest position. It is carried by a hollow plunger 19 which is slidably guided in a guide 21. The mass 23 and the spring 22 are selected so that their natural frequency is of the order of magnitude of 10 sec -1.
The plunger 19 penetrates through a sealing Füh tion 18 in a chamber 17 of the auxiliary valve 6, against the valve plate 15 it can be in sealing contact. A spring 14 loads the valve disk 15 on a valve seat 16 fixed to the housing. The bore of the plunger 19 is provided with a ventilation bore 20, whereby the chamber 17 can be connected to the outside air. A line 25 to which a time container 26 is closed, the venting time of which is about 20 sec. Be carries, connects the chamber 17 with a piston chamber 28 of a control member 7. A piston 29 which is movable in the chamber 28 and cams 47 separates the sen Space from a space 30 provided with an outlet 32 and is loaded by a spring 31 in the direction of the rest position shown in FIG. 1.
A valve stem 37 is provided with a pawl device 9, in which a pawl 33 rotatable about the axis 34 is held against a stop 36 by means of a spring 35. The valve stem 37 slides in a sealing guide 38 in order to control the feed valve 8. The valve disk 41, which is fastened to the plunger 37 and is loaded by a spring 43, separates a chamber 39 connected to a horn 46 in the feed valve 8 from a chamber 42 connected to the main air line via a line 44.
The mode of operation results from the structure described. In the embodiment according to FIG. 1, the main air line 80 is filled to the normal operating pressure before the train departs. The valve plate 15 is pressed by the spring 14 onto the seat 16 and the time container 26 remains vented through the hollow plunger 19 and its vent hole 20. As a result, the control piston 29 is in its outermost position on the right. If the train starts moving, the spring-loaded mass 23 begins to vibrate under the movement vibrations, so that the plunger 19 lifts the valve disk 15 intermittently from the seat 16. Compressed air flows through the throttle 11, the cross section of which is significantly larger than that of the outlet 20.
As a result, the time container 26 fills up, and through its pressure it displaces the control piston 29 in the extreme position on the left. In this movement, the cams 47 have no effect on the plunger 37, since the pawl 33 gives way against the force of the spring 35. If the train comes to a standstill, the opening impulses caused by the mass 23 on the valve disk 15 cease, and the spring 22 guides the mass 23 with its plunger 19 back into the extreme position on the right. As a result, the venting process of the time container 26 begins through the hollow plunger 19 and its vent hole 20, so that the control piston 29 finally moves to the right again under the pressure of the spring 31.
In this case, the valve stem 37 and thus the valve plate 41 is lifted by the cams 47, since the pawl 33 can no longer evade during the piston movement to the right. The compressed air can now flow to the signal device 46 in order to generate a signal there. In the second example, according to FIG. 2, a pressure regulator valve 50 is provided in the branch 62 connecting the main air line 80 with the chamber 42 of the feed valve 8. A branch line 49 leads from the line 12 to a pressure chamber 56 which is delimited on one side by a piston 58 and on the other side by a wall 55. A tappet 63, which is guided in a sliding and sealing manner in the wall 55, is firmly connected to the valve disk 52 and to the piston 58.
Due to the pressure in the chamber 56, the piston 58 compresses a regulator spring 59, which is located in a space 60 connected to the outside air. By adjusting the regulator spring 59, the response pressure of the pressure regulator valve 50 can be set to a predetermined value.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 2, when the main air line 80 is filled when the train is at a standstill, the pressure regulator valve 50 is counteracted when a pressure is reached which is approximately 0.5 kg / cm2 below the normal main air line pressure of 5 kg / cm2 Action of the regulator spring 59 closed. The consequence of this is that the air passage to the feed valve 8 is only released again when the locomotive driver has braked, ie. H. when the main air line pressure has been reduced so much that the regulator spring 59 is able to overcome the pressure on the piston 58 in order to lift the valve disc 52 from the seat. A signal can only be given if braking was carried out before the train stopped.
In a third example, according to FIG. 3, the pressure regulating valve 50 is inserted between a throttle 64, a line 65 fed by the main air line 80 and the auxiliary valve, which is designed only as an outlet valve 68. A tappet 67 fastened to the mass 23 acts through the movements of the mass on the valve disk 15 loaded with the spring 14, which blocks the pressure chamber 13 on the valve seat 16 fed by the line 66 from the outside air. A line 69 connects the pressure chamber 13 of the outlet valve 68 with a pressure chamber 71 of a control unit 70, which partially replaces the control organ 7 described in the first two examples with the feed valve 8. The pressure of the chamber 71 acts on a piston 73 loaded with a spring 75, which can move in a space 74 connected to the air from the outside.
A plunger 37 fastened to the piston 73 penetrates through a sealing guide of a wall 77 into the chamber 39, which is connected to the signaling device 46. The valve disk 41 fixedly attached to the plunger 37 separates the chamber 39 and 42 from one another at its seat 40. The chamber 42 is connected to a storage container 86 and through the line 78 via a throttle 79 to the feeding main air line 80. In the embodiment according to FIG. 3, the main air line 80, ie. H. before the addition drives, the pressure regulator valve 50 is opened and the auxiliary valve 68 is closed. The pressure chamber 71 is therefore filled from the main air line 80 and lifts the piston 73 against the action of the spring 75, which lifts the valve disk 41 off the seat 40 with its plunger 37.
However, no signal is generated because the compressed air flowing to the signal device 46 is fed via the throttle 79, the cross section of which is very small. When the pressure of 4.5 kg / cm = is reached in the main air line 80, the piston 58 presses the pressure regulator valve 50 against the regulator spring 59 into its closing position. When the train starts, the mass 23 is again under the influence of the shaking movements and, as previously described, opens the auxiliary valve 68 through its vibrations. The pressure chamber 71 of the feed valve is depressurized and the valve is activated the spring 75 closed.
The reservoir 86 is filled through the throttle 79 to the pressure of the main air line. If a service brake is now carried out without the train coming to a standstill, the pressure control valve 50 will open, but there is insufficient pressure on the piston 73 of the feed valve 70 to lift the valve disk 41 from the seat 40, since the outlet cross-section of the Auxiliary valve 68 is significantly larger than the passage cross-section of Dorssel 64. The auxiliary valve 68 remains closed only when the train is stopped; - If braking occurs at the same time, sufficient pressure is created in the pressure chamber 71 of the feed valve 70 to move the piston 73 against the existing spring action.
The plunger 37 lifts the valve disk 41 from its seat and compressed air flows from the reservoir 86 to the signaling device 46 in order to generate a signal.
When using such a Vorratsbehäl age 86, which is replenished through a throttle bore from the main air line, the pressure drop in this line when the signal device 46 responds is reduced.
In a fourth example, according to FIG. 4, when the pressure regulator valve 50 is open, the compressed air is fed via the line 62 to the feed valve 8, and from there via a line 98 to a pressure switch 10. A piston 101 loaded by a spring 103 is connected to a contact piece of an electrical switch 88, the circuit of which contains a battery 105 and a wireless transmitter 89 which cooperates with a receiver (not shown) located in the locomotive.
Another difference compared to the previous examples is that a hollow valve stem 87 provided with a ventilation hole acts on the valve plate 41 of the feed valve 8. The plunger 87 is hen neither with a pawl nor with a piston: it rests on the side surface of the control piston 29 and is actuated directly by its cam 47.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 4, the pressure regulator valve 50 is open when filling the lines, and it only closes when there is a pressure of about 4.5 kg / cm2 in the pressure chamber 56 to counteract the action of the regulator spring 59 Move piston 58. When the train starts, the mass 23 starts to oscillate again and intermittently opens the auxiliary valve 6. The time container 26 fills up, as described in Examples 1 and 2, and the control piston 29 moves to its extreme left position . During this movement, the cams 47 press the valve stem 87, which thereby opens the feed valve 8. However, since the pressure regulator valve 50 is closed, no compressed air can reach the feed valve 8, so that it has no effect.
Only when braking and the transition to standstill, when the control piston 29 moves to its extreme right position, are both valves 8 and 50 connected in series open, and the compressed air flows to the pressure switch 10, causing the piston 101 to be pressurized the switch 88 closes against the action of the spring 103. The transmitter 89 now emits a signal which informs the locomotive driver about the presence of the train end by means of a receiver (not shown) in the railcar.
A fifth example, according to FIG. 5, shows a hollow plunger 119 which is provided with an armature 118 and penetrates into the auxiliary valve 6. This tappet 119 opens the valve 6 when the coil 117 is excited, the circuit 121 of which is closed from a battery 116 via a switch 115. This is controlled by a coil 114, the circuit of which is closed by a battery 111 via a mercury switch 110 containing a movable mercury mass 120.
A commercially available one is used as the mercury switch 110, in which a mercury mass 120 in an ampoule can touch two insulated contacts at the same time when the switch is shaken in order to establish contact. The con tacts are arranged at slightly different heights so that the contact by the mercury mass 120 remains interrupted in the idle state. Parallel to the coil 114 is a resistor 112 connected in series with a capacitor 113, the values of which are selected such that a drop-out delay of approximately 2 seconds at the switch 115 is achieved.
The piston chamber 56 of the pressure regulator valve 50 is connected via a line 97 to the main air line 80, as is also the case in the earlier example 4. A filling line 90 leading through the train is, as shown for the main air line 80 in FIG. 6, connected to the line 96 of the pressure regulator valve 50 leading to the chamber 51. Of course, the valve stem 72 which actuates the feed valve 8 does not need to be hollow, as was the case for the stem 87 in the 4th example, since the chamber 39 is vented via the signal device 46.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 5, the auxiliary valve 6 is controlled with a liquid mass instead of a solid. Due to the vibrations arising while driving, the mercury mass 120 moves in the mercury switch 110 and intermittently closes the circuit of the coil 114 and via this switch 115. The coil 117 then moves the plunger 119 to the left, as described in the preceding Examples the mass 23 did. The capacitor 113 and the resistor 112 are only used for drop-out delay. Of course, any known switch which is responsive to shaking movements could just as well be used in place of the mercury switch 110.
By supplying the Signalge device 46 with filling line air via the pressure regulator valve 50, the pressure drop in the main air line when a signal is emitted is avoided.
Of course, the mode of operation would not change if, instead of the main air line 80 in the first example, the filling line 90 of FIG. 5 fed the final signal device, or if instead of the displaceable mass 23 loaded by the spring 22, a pendulum on the auxiliary valve 6 would act. Instead of a horizontally oscillating mass, a vertically oscillating mass could also be used.
Also, of course, the use of the reservoir 86 is not limited to the third example, as well as the use of a transmitter 89 as a signaling device and the combined use of the pressures of the main air line and the oil line not only to the fourth and fifth example; the combination could just as well be used in the 3rd example.
The ratchetless valve tappet 87 according to FIGS. 4 and 5, which acts on the feed valve 8, can also be used in the first example if, in addition to every transition from travel to standstill, a signal is to be generated at every transition from standstill to travel.
