Vehicle wheel The invention relates to a vehicle wheel with a solid tire made of rubber or rubber-like materials.
It is known that industrial floor conveyors, in particular forklift trucks, are generally equipped with pneumatic tires, especially when they are also to be used on uneven roads. However, such equipment of the vehicles mentioned, which are used in most cases in commercial operations, has the disadvantage that the pneumatic tires can be destroyed prematurely, especially when the vehicle is used on roadways on which there are sharp-edged bodies. This is e.g.
B. the case when the said vehicles are to be operated in mechanical workshops; Here it cannot be avoided that the roadways are littered with swarf or similar sharp edges that have objects. There is also a risk of destruction in the glass processing industry, because here, too, cuts can occur from broken glass.
The invention is based on the knowledge that in the aforementioned applications it is often appropriate to use solid tires, that is to say tires that do not have a tire cavity under excess pressure. Normally, however, solid tires are not set so soft that a spring characteristic can be achieved as can be achieved with pneumatic tires. In addition, it is not possible to convert the aforementioned vehicles from pneumatic tires to solid rubber tires, as this requires changing the wheel center.
On the basis of the invention, a vehicle wheel is to be created in which the aforementioned disadvantages are eliminated and, accordingly, a soft suspension and a resistant, in particular cut-resistant tires are made possible.
According to the invention, the solid tire is arranged on a tire rim, the foot of this solid tire is also adapted to the outer contour of the tire rim and the spring characteristic of the solid tire essentially corresponds to that of a pneumatic tire with the same or approximately the same load capacity.
If a vehicle with pneumatic tires is now supplied by the manufacturer, it can either be operated with a pneumatic tire or, under the special conditions mentioned above, with a solid tire that does not differ or practically does not differ in terms of its load capacity and spring characteristic from the pneumatic tire provided .
The invention is explained below with reference to the undersigned voltage, in which an embodiment is shown.
The figure shows a tenlschnmtt through a. Wheel for a forklift.
The wheel has a rim 1 with lateral horns 2. It is divided or may have other known devices that facilitate the application of the elastic tire. Rims in accordance with DIN 7825 are preferably used.
A solid rubber tire is mounted on the rim 1 and consists essentially of three layers 3, 4 and 5 vulcanized together on top of one another. The layer 3 lying on the inner circumference of the solid tire forms the tire base, which preferably consists of tough rubber and is reinforced by wire bundle rings 3 '. The layer 4 essentially forms the cushion or spring body; the outer layer 5 is the tread 5 that comes into contact with the roadway and is possibly profiled.
This is provided on both edges with obliquely inwardly angled flanges 6 so that not only the tread 7 located on the outer circumference of the tire, but also most of the tire sidewalls 8 are protected against mechanical and / or chemical influences. For this reason, a suitable cut and abrasion-resistant rubber is selected for the layer 5.
The tire base formed by the inner layer 3 is adapted to the outer contour of the rim 1. The solid tire is therefore firmly and securely stored on the rim 1 intended for pneumatic tires. In addition, the cross-sections for layers 4 and 5 are chosen so and the properties of these layers form the materials so selected that the solid tire under the radial load has a spring rate that practically corresponds to that of a pneumatic tire with the same load capacity.
The rim 1 can thus optionally serve to accommodate a pneumatic tire or a solid tire. In each case, a soft deflection is ensured. In addition, however, when a solid tire is used, it is also ensured that cutting injuries or other mechanical influences do not lead to the tires becoming temporarily unusable. The vehicle wheel is therefore particularly suitable for vehicles that are to be used in the glass and sheet metal processing industry.
The layer 5 should preferably have a Shore hardness of 65 to 72, whereas the layer 4 underneath it should have a hardness of approximately 55 to 68 Shore. The shift is supposed to continue. characterized by great wear resistance and layer 4 by elasticity. The foot 3 is advantageously designed so that its hardness is about 80 to 98 Shore.
