Watertight shaped watch case We know different types of shaped watch cases made up of a bottom-cap which fits into a caseband-bezel and tightens, with or without the interposition of a sealing package. , the rim of the ice.
These parts are often fixed to one another by the hooking of a projection from the back in a corresponding housing of the middle-bezel. This arrangement does not make it possible to guarantee a good seal of the seal between the glass and the base-cap because the slightest deformation of one of the constituents reduces the pressure supplied by the action of the projection in its housing.
Attempts have been made to remedy this drawback by replacing the protrusion of the bottom-cap by bolts, generally four in number, housed in recesses in the bottom and the ends of which cooperate with corresponding openings made in the middle part. These bolts are subjected to the action of springs and are shaped and arranged with respect to the openings so as to constantly compress the base against the glass and this with a predetermined pressure.
Small changes in the dimensions of the components, such as the sagging of a plastic sealing package, excessively reduce the pressure exerted by the bottom on the seal and thus destroy the seal of the part.
A watch case is also known in which the bottom-cap is pressed against the sealing package, the rim of the crystal and a shoulder of the bezel, by an annular spring of circular section housed in a peripheral groove at the bottom and coming to engage in a housing of the middle part. The spring rests on an inclined face of this housing and tends to slide on this face in order to compensate for the variations in the dimensions of the constituents and to attempt to guarantee a lasting seal.
The too small section of the spring and the too low pressure it exerts on the inclined face, however, do not guarantee absolute tightness over time.
Finally, in another known construction, one or more springs are housed in a groove made along the periphery of the bottom and are attached thereto by one of their ends or their middle part. The free ends of the springs have a projection of triangular section cooperating with a corresponding recess formed in the middle part and the section of which is also triangular. It is thus sought to transform the radial action of the spring into an axial action tending to cause the back to penetrate the caseband.
However, since the protrusion of the springs rotates around the point of attachment thereof, the contact surfaces are almost never parallel for normal manufacturing tolerances, so that the action of the springs in the recesses of the spring. middle part is asymmetrical and that, far from reacting to slight deformations of the case or of the sealing packages, the moving parts of this construction frequently seize up.
In addition, these springs working in bending and having to develop a considerable force so that the axial component is sufficient to guarantee the tightness of the box, their section is relatively high, which considerably increases the thickness of the bottom wall and therefore there the external diameter of the box, an increase which is generally inadmissible.
The present invention relates to a shaped waterproof watch case comprising a base-cap fitting into a bezel middle part and sealingly tightening against a bearing surface of the latter the rim of a crystal, this caseback having at least one latch subjected - to the action of a spring working in compression in the direction of action of the latch which engages in a corresponding opening of the caseband to secure these two parts, said red worm and said opening being shaped and arranged in so as to axially compress the back against the caseband by a predetermined amount.
This box is characterized by the fact that one of the two elements, lock and opening, has an inclined surface cooperating with an edge of the other element, and by the fact that this edge is constantly parallel to said inclined surface of the another element, or to the plane tangent to said surface and conducted perpendicularly to the direction of action of the lock, so as to make it possible to catch up with any deformation without significantly reducing the pressure of the back against the caseband.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, five embodiments of the object of the present invention.
The fia. 1 is a partial vertical section of the first embodiment and the fia. 2 is a section on II-II of fia. 1.
The fia. 3 is a partial vertical section of the second embodiment and the fia. 4 is a section on IV IV of the fia. 3.
Fig. 5 is a partial vertical section of the third embodiment and FIG. 6 is a section along VI VI of FIG. 5.
The fia. 7 is a partial vertical section of the fourth embodiment and FIG. 8 is a section according to VIII-VIII of the fia. 7.
Fig. 9 is a partial vertical section of the fifth embodiment and the fia. 10 is an X-X section of the fia. 9.
In the first embodiment, the base-cap 1 fits into a caseband-bezel 2 against a bearing surface which it clamps on. with interposition of a sealing package 3, the rim 4 of a glass 5.
The back 1 is fixed to the middle part 2 by means of four sliding bolts 6, of rectangular shape, housed in openings of said bottom and the ends of which engage in corresponding openings 7 of the middle part.
A leaf spring 8 tends to apply the lock against the middle part and the end of this lock has an inclined plane 9 cooperating with the rim of the opening 7 so as to constantly press the sealing package with a predetermined pressure. This inclined plane is also relatively long with respect to the sides of the box and rests with its entire surface on a flat rim of the opening so as to minimize the wear of these elements.
So as to prevent that by removing the bottom, the locks are ejected by the spring, a vertical pin 10 is placed in an opening in the bottom and passes through a slot 11 -practiced in this lock. The inclination of the end of the lock and the bore of the spring are chosen "so that this lock can, on the one hand, easily penetrate into the corresponding opening, and on the other hand take up any deformations without significantly reducing the pressure of the back against the caseband.
In particular, thanks to the sliding of the lock in the housing, it is possible to make the clamping pressure independent of manufacturing tolerances and to compensate at all times - sagging of the glass or of the absolute sealing package of the room.
In the second embodiment, the lock 6a has a cylindrical body, but its active end also has an elongated inclined plane 9a. This lock is controlled by a coil spring 8a and its stroke is limited by a horizontal pin 10a penetrating into. a lateral housing 11a of said lock.
In these two embodiments, the inclined surface of one of the elements, lock and opening, cooperates with an edge of the other element, this inclined surface being parallel to said edge of the other element.
In the third embodiment, the active end of the lock is in the form of a spherical cap 12. This lock is integral with a piston 13 subjected to the action of a small coil spring 14, these two parts being housed in a cylindrical sheath 15. driven into the bottom. This sheath has an opening for the passage of the end of the lock, an opening delimited by an internal rim 16 constituting a stop for the piston.
The opening made in the caseband comprises an inclined plane 17 so that the spherical cap can slide on this plane to take up any deformations without appreciably reducing the pressure of the back against the caseband.
In the fourth embodiment, the end 17 of the lock is in the form of a spherical cap and it is part of its surface which, cooperating with an edge 18 of the opening, constitutes said inclined face.
Finally, in the fifth embodiment, the end 19 of the lock 20 has a larger diameter than that of the body of this lock, which makes it possible to reduce the wear of this end on the edge of the middle part.
