Fig. 1 eine erfindungsgemässe Verschlussvorrichtung in Zangenform in ihrer Offungsstellung in Ansicht, teilweise weggebrochen, und
Device for connecting the overlapping ends of a metal band wrapped around a package by means of a sleeve-less closure
The invention relates to a device for connecting the overlapping ends of a metal band wrapped around a package by means of a sleeveless closure which has at least one pair of angular slots spaced apart in the width direction of the metal band and whose web located between the slots is pushed out of the plane of the metal band is, wherein the device for forming the sleeveless Ver, circuit has several stamps,
of which at least one is movable and the movable punch (s) act on the metal band from the package side and, in cooperation with another punch above the metal band, consisting of two mutually variable parts, produce the sleeveless seal.
In a known embodiment of such a device, the stamp located above the metal band consists of two stamp parts, the mutual position of which can be changed. A gap is provided between the two movably mounted stamp parts, which Brolte can be changed. When the closure is formed, the common width of the two stamp parts corresponds approximately to the clear width between the angular slots to be created in the metal band. After the lock has been formed and the movable stamp has been opened, the spread position of the two stamp parts is canceled.
The stamp parts get closer to each other, the result that both their overall size and that of the gap between them are reduced. This design of the stamp located above the band is intended to facilitate the removal of the locking parts of the metal band from the device.
It is an object of the present invention to improve a device for connecting the overlapping ends of a metal band wrapped around a package by a sleeveless closure so that it can be used to pinch the metal band ends transversely to the longitudinal direction of the metal band.
To solve this task, it is proposed according to the invention that the two stamp parts of the stamp located above the metal band, after the angular slot formation, can be moved against each other transversely to the longitudinal direction of the same, and have return devices that insert the movable stamp parts into the opening points of the device lead back. In the preferred embodiment of the invention, a compression spring is used as a return device, which loads the stamps, parts, in the sense of a disengagement.
It is recommended that the compression spring be buried in blind hole-like recesses of the two punch parts, the openings of the two blind-hole-like recesses facing each other.
With the design of the closure device according to the invention, the desired squeezing of the metal strip ends transversely to the longitudinal direction of the strip can be achieved without further ado, in which case the degree of squeezing must be determined in the Hanid. If only a relatively weak squeezing of the band ends is desired, the interacting parts of the movable punches need only be slightly less than the width of the metal band with their mutual spacing. If, on the other hand, Ida's degree of squeezing is to be increased, this area can be considerably reduced.
The squeezing of the tape ends can easily be carried out due to the slidable design of the stamp located above the tape. This is because the stamp parts of this stamp, which are movably connected to one another, allow the total width of the stamp parts to be reduced, the total width being reduced by compressing the associated compression spring. If the pressure on the springs increases, their restoring forces are used to return the movable stamp parts of the upper stamp to the open position.
In the drawing the connection is shown in an embodiment, namely show:
1 shows a locking device according to the invention in the form of pliers in its open position in a view, partially broken away, and
FIG. 2 shows the locking device according to FIG. 1, icidooh in its locking position.
It should first be mentioned that the device for tensioning the metal band is omitted for the sake of simplicity in the locking direction shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 in the form of pliers. This can have a design known per se. It is also not absolutely necessary for the locking forceps to be attached to the clamping device; the clamping device and the locking device can often be used independently of one another. Since in most cases the closure of a metal strapping consists of several closure parts, for example three parts arranged one behind the other in the direction of the strap, a leash-like receptacle can be used for the closure device.
This drinking, taking is expediently divided into several rows, in which the locking device is inserted one after the other. However, precautions can also be taken to automatically transfer the locking device into the respectively required area of the receptacle. The locking device shown in the two figures has a positive guide for the parts acting via the lever. All the individual parts of the locking device that are still to be trimmed are held by a frame 70. They are movably supported on this.
An exception is a handle 72, the latter is fixed to the frame 70 and essentially serves to hold the frame. to be able to hold onto. The handle 72, of which only a part can be seen, consists of a tube which is firmly connected to the frame 70, which can be done, for example, by welding. At the beginning of the handle 72, the frame 70 has a stationary stop 74, which is formed in a trough-shaped manner on its upwardly pointing end face. This trough serves as a support for an actuating lever 73, at the same time it also represents a stop for this.
The actuating lever 73, which consists of a tube, receives a pin 75 of a joint head 76. Both parts are secured against axial displacement by a pin 77. The joint head 76 is rotatably mounted on a pin 78 of the frame 70. Furthermore, two levers 79 and 80 are articulated in a radially widened area of the joint head 76, which happens without a pin 81 in between. So that the opening position shown in Fig. 1 achieved who can, the lever 80 is designed bent like a toggle.
Therefore, in the opening position, the upper part of the extended lever 79 can be embedded in the free area which is formed by the arch of the toggle lever. The levers 79 and 80 are articulated at their lower ends to two levers 82 which are mirror images of one another and are also arranged. The articulated connection of the levers 82 to the levers 79 and 80 is carried out by pins 83. The movable levers 82 of the locking device, which are used to deform the metal strip, act like pliers. They are designed as double-armed levers, act against one another and are assigned to the frame 70 in an articulated manner.
In their open position (Fig. 1) they form a mouth-like introduction for the metal strip. A pin 84 is shown for connection with id, em frame 70; while the articulated connection of the double ar, mgigen levers 82 with their levers 79 and 80 via the bearing pin 83 already mentioned.
The positions of the pins 83 and 84 are matched to one another in such a way that the levers can be pivoted.
Both double-armed levers 82 have an angular recess 85 to form a closure in a metal band (not shown). It has different flanks that will be used for purposes that will be described. To transfer the metal band to be closed to a height such that it can be gripped by the mouth flanks of the lever 82, only a support or a spacer is used. For this purpose, GT parts of a tensioning device can also be used, which keep the metal strip at a sufficient distance from the package so that that of the closing mouth areas 85 can be grasped.
The stamp, generally designated 71 e, is made in two parts. Its two parts 71 'and 71' 'are fastened to the frame 70 by means of a pin 191 dr, ehbar. The shape, design and mounting of the stamp 71 is to be compared with that of the one known scriber in which the legs are bluntly cut off at the same height, so that the string sides of both legs form a common end face. In the exemplary embodiment, the end face is designated by 88 in each case.
The two legs 71 'and 71 "can be spread apart. This is protected by a compression spring 190, which is embedded in two blind holes facing each other and assigned to each punch part 71' and 71". In addition, the two legs 71 'have and 71 ″ have recesses 89 on their outer surfaces facing away from each other. These are arcuately curved and have a radius which matches the curved portion of the outer surface of that double-arm lever 82 which is adjacent to the respective recesses 89.
The colored fastener is a well-known angle slot fastener that securely holds the overlapping ends of a metal band together. In order to be able to generate these angled slots, the recess 85 of the double-armed lever 82 is designed with angled arms in its front side which interacts with the punch 71. The lower mouth flank, denoted by 86, has a facet-like design, as a result of which a favorable angle of attack for creating the angled slot is provided. The lower mouth flank 86 interacts with the recess 89 of the two punch parts 71 'and 71 ". The wider mouth flank, designated 87, does not perform any cutting function when forming the angled slot. She has other tasks for it.
First of all, the truncated tip 93 located at the front end rests against the one delimitation wall of the arcuate recess 89 of the punch 71. As a result, the upper mouth flank 87 prevents the stamped rails 71 'and 71 ″, which are loaded by the compression spring 190, from spreading during the entire pivoting range, so the two-part SGi.
Rnfläche 88 always has the favorable width for forming the angle slot. As in particular from the Fi, - ,. 1 (opening position of the device), the upper mouth flanks 87 serve to strip the metal strip from the punch 71 after the closure has been formed. In fact, as can be seen in particular from FIG. 2, the steel band is pulled a little over the punch 71 when the closure is formed. It would in itself be difficult to remove the metal strip, which is still double-layered in this area, from the punch 71.
To counteract this condition, when the device is opened, the two upper mouth flanks 87 press the metal band from the punch 71 under. And finally, the upper mouth flank 87 causes the metal strap fastener to jam after the angular slot has been formed and thus counteracts any undesired, subsequent opening of the fastener. In order to achieve this jamming, the mouth flank 87 has, in its lower region adjacent to the mouth flank 86, an angled portion 92 that fills the corner of the mouth flanks. As a result, the metal strip, which is already provided with angled slots, is squeezed together during the last phase of the closure formation by the two opposing, forceps-like areas 192 of the upper mouth flanks 87.
The two side edges are squeezed together roughly at the level of the WÅankel slots.
The side edges are pressed in the direction of the middle border of the closure. As a result, there is not only an intimate abutment of the slot edges that are perpendicular to the metal strip surface, but also partially overlapping of the Kanben in the free area resulting from the formation of the slot. The unimpeded squeezing can take place in particular because the punch 71 with its two parts 71 ′ and 71 ″ can be reduced in width.
A pulling off from the punch 71 takes place without any difficulty in spite of the squeezing in the manner already described.
The mode of operation of the closure device is indicated below, which results from considering the two FIGS. 1 and 2 of the drawing. In the open position according to FIG. 1, the actuating lever 73 is perpendicular to the general base area. The bearing points 81 of the levers 79 and 80 are not completely superimposed on the journal 78. The two double-armed levers 82 are inclined to the base. The space between its two free ends is so large that the metal bar can easily be brought into this area. To form the lock, the Actuator lever 73 is pivoted in the direction of the handle 72 until it rests on the stop 74.
During this movement, the joint head 76 is rotated clockwise, as a result of which the two joint pins 81 are displaced in the direction of the pins 84 him. To a certain extent, the common length of the levers 89, 80 and 82 has been shortened, or, in other words, the angle between the levers 82 and 79, 80 is reduced, with the result that the two legs 82 twist against each other and essentially become one reach horizontal position. As a result, in cooperation with the stamp 71, as already described, the desired closure blind is obtained.
As already mentioned, the embodiment shown is only an example implementation of the invention and; these are not limited to this. In fact, many other designs are possible. Thus, the resetting devices for the two movable punch parts can also have a design that deviates from the embodiment shown. For example, control cams can also be used for this.
