Device used to manufacture, fill and seal a container made of thermoplastic material
The invention relates to a device for producing, filling and closing a container made of a thermoplastic, in particular polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride and the like, with an extruder and a divided container shape, which is in a lower mold for producing the container belly and in an upper mold for Manufacture of the container head is subdivided, with a feed member for the supply of filling material being introduced into the plastic tube received by the lower mold.
A device has already been proposed in which the mold remains below the extruder head and compressed gas and the material to be filled is to be introduced into the container either via the extruder head or via special lines in the upper part of the production mold. In the first case, in addition to holding jaws to support the plastic tube during the filling process, special mold halves have to be used to produce the closed head, and in the other case the supply lines are passed through the mold halves and protrude into the mold to pierce the tube formed by the press inside.
In the first-mentioned embodiment, a complicated design of the extrusion head is required, and in the second embodiment there is only little space available for accommodating the feed lines formed as hollow needles, and these are easily clogged because the plastic hose pierces them.
The aim of the invention is to use a special feeding and filling element that is independent of both the extrusion press and the production form. According to the invention, this aim is achieved in that each lower mold half for producing the container belly is connected to at least one nozzle that holds the plastic tube in the processing position and is arranged above the upper mold half serving to produce the container head, and that the upper mold half is provided with at least one suction nozzle. The arrangement of a suction nozzle in the production mold prevents the still plastic tube received by the mold from collapsing, so that the mold can be moved under the filling element by the extrusion press.
This enables the extrusion press, the filling head and the production mold to be designed independently of one another, which has the advantage that the device can easily be converted to different container shapes and sizes and to different contents.
In one embodiment of the invention, the lower mold in the region of the end of the plastic tube forming the container head is thermally insulated on its section adjacent to the tube and / or the filling element is thermally insulated on its outside adjacent to the production mold or the plastic tube. As a result of the thermal insulation, rapid dissipation of heat is prevented, so that the hose can be kept in the plastic and weldable state for a period of time that includes the process of the production mold and the filling of the hose and the formation of the container head.
In the drawing, a device for producing, filling and closing a container made of thermoplastic material is shown as an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention. The figures show: FIG. 1 a longitudinal section along line I-I in FIG. 2, FIG. 2 a cross section along line II-II in FIG. 2 on a different scale.
On a table 1 is a slide 2 with the aid of a hydraulically or pneumatically actuated I piston-cylinder unit 3 from a position below an orifice element 4 of an extrusion press 5 to a position below one that is fastened to the table 1, can be raised and lowered To move feed and filling member 6. The extruder 5 is used to produce a plastic tube 7 from polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride and the like and has a cutting element 8 on its mouth element 4 for cutting off the plastic tube 7. A line 9 connected to a compressed air source and a filling line 10 for bringing the goods to be filled are connected to the filling element 6.
The slide 2 carries two lower mold halves 12 and 12 'which can be displaced transversely to the direction of displacement of the piston of the piston-cylinder unit 3. A vacuum chamber 14, 14 'is attached to each of the lower mold halves 12, 12' by means of a connecting piece 13, 13 ', the cylinder-like side of which is provided with suction nozzles 15, 15' adjacent to the tube 7 to be received. Between the vacuum chamber 14 and the lower mold half 12 there is an upper mold half 16, which is displaceable on the lower mold half 12, for producing the head of the container together with the upper mold half 16 '.
The lower mold half 12 is to be displaced on the slide 2 with the aid of a Koiben-cylinder unit 17 and the upper mold half 16 with the aid of a piston-cylinder unit 18 on the lower mold half 12. The lower mold half 12 is on its upper inside and the filling mandrel is provided on its outside with a heat-insulating lining 19, 19 ″. The upper mold 16 is connected in the same way as the negative pressure chamber 14 via a line 24 to a suction source (not shown) and has suction nozzles 20.
The right part of the mold shown in FIG. 2 is denoted by the same reference numerals as the part shown on the left in FIG. 2, with the difference that these are provided with a comma.
In Fig. 1 and 2, the shape below the mouth 4 of the extruder 5 is shown. The extruder 5 delivers a piece of hose 7, the beginning of which can just be seen. As soon as the hose piece 7 has reached a sufficient length, the two un terformhälften 12, 12 'move together and take the hose piece 7 between them. A piece of tubing protruding approximately below and sheared off the shape can fall down through the opening 21. When the lower mold half 12 moves, the upper mold half 16 is carried along by the latter, but without being brought into its closed position.
The tube piece is held at its upper end by the negative pressure in the negative pressure chamber 14, 14 'before the tube piece is cut to a certain length by the cutting element 8.
The partially closed mold moves under the filling element 6, which lowers itself onto the lower mold halves 12, 12 ', the filling nozzle dipping into the hose and standing on the lower mold halves with the hose interposed. For this purpose, the top side of the lining 19, 19 'is flared and the end of the filling nozzle provided with the insulating lining 19 "is correspondingly conical.
Via the filling line 10, compressed air is blown in, which can only escape from the container by overcoming a certain pressure, so that the still thermoplastic hose piece 7 rests against the lower mold halves 12, 12 '. Then the filling material (liquid, paste, dusty or sand-like material and the like) is introduced into the container that has already been formed, while the compressed air is displaced from it while the filling material is being introduced.
After the container has been filled, the filling element 6 is raised and the upper mold 16, 16 'closes to form the container head. So that the head part of the container is well formed, the corresponding area of the still plastic hose is held on the upper mold 16, 16 'by suction. The upper end of the hose is still in the plastic state, since the dissipation of heat in the lower mold half 12 through the chuck 19 has been greatly reduced. After the container is closed by completing the head piece, the vacuum source is switched off and the mold halves of the lower mold 12, 12 'and the upper mold 16, 16' open and return to their rest position.
When the mold is opened, the filled container falls through the holes 22 and 23 in the carriage 2 and in the table 1. The mold 12, 12 ', 16, 16' moves back under the mouth 4 of the extruder 5 to receive a new piece of plastic hose 7 and the operations for making a filled and closed container start over.
The movement of the upper and lower mold halves 12, 12 'and 16, 16', the exit of the hose 7 from the mouth 4 of the extruder 5, the blowing in of compressed air and the filling of the goods as well as the necessary lifting and lowering movements of the filling element 6 are performed controlled with the help of end stops, time relays and the like switching elements, so that the process for the production of a container and the subsequent container runs automatically.
It is also possible, without the prior supply of pressurized fragrance, to shape the container solely by the supplied filling material. Air in the hose piece 7 can escape under pressure.
