Closure with metering device for containers containing a fine powdery or granular product The subject of the invention is a closure with a metering device for containers containing a fine powder or granular product.
The dosage of known metered-dose closures is irregular; for each dosage the container must be upright and inverted; furthermore, these closures tend to stick together and no longer work.
The aim of the invention is to eliminate these drawbacks and defects. For this purpose, the closure according to the present invention is characterized by a conical shaped metering device and by two movable valves, one of which is placed at the upper inner part and the other at the lower outer part of the valve. metering device and which are mutually conjugated in their axial movement by a rod, the product metering being provided by the axial movement of the two valves and the volume of the metering device.
The drawing represents, by way of example, different embodiments of the object of the invention. Figs. I and II are sectional views of. first and second embodiments.
Fig. III is an inverted plan view of FIGS. I and II without the valves.
Figs. IV and V are sectional views of the third embodiment.
Fig. VI is an elevational view of the fourth embodiment.
Figs. VII and VIII are exploded partial sectional views showing in detail two variants of valve clearance.
The first embodiment according to FIG. I has a metering device 1 in the form of a cone which is integral with the cover of the container 4 for the product. The interior of the metering unit 1 is equipped with a cross groove 2 arranged in the axial direction and the center of which is drilled right through to receive a rod 5 carrying the valves 6 and 7.
This rod has a groove 9 to receive the spherical end of the lateral blocking bar 10 under the effect of the spring 13 pressed on the one hand on the shoulder of this bar and on the other hand on the screwed notch ring 12. outside the dispenser. In this position the valve 7 is retained on the seat 8 and the metering unit is closed. By a slight rotation of the lever 11 the notch ring 12 pushes the bar 10 from the groove 9 to the rod 5, whereby the rod is axially released with the valves 6 and 7 by their own weight. The valve 7 is released from the seat 8 of the metering device 1 and the product can escape.
To allow the evacuation of several dosages in succession, it suffices to push back the valve 7 with a finger, without turning over or overturning the container.
Fig. It has an embodiment of the metering device identical to that of FIG. I (valves 6 and 7 are shown in the closed position, respec tively open). This form is, in addition, equipped with a spring 14 mounted between the valve 7 and the cross groove 2; the sole purpose of this additional element is to accelerate the opening of the valve 7.
The îig. III shows a reverse plan view of the closures shown in FIGS. I and II to illustrate the arrangement of the spider 2 inside and of the handle 11 with the notch ring 12 on the outside of the metering device.
Fig. IV presents a third form of execution also composed of the metering device 1 with inside the spider 2, the valves 6 and 7 as well as the rod 5 in the center. The spring 18 has as support, on the one hand, the valve 6 and, on the other hand, the: spider 2. By the force of the spring 18 the valve 7 is pressed in a hermetic manner on the seat 8 and the doser is therefore closed.
On the other hand, the valve 6 is released from the seat 3 of the metering device 1 so that the product enters the space between the two valves 6 and 7; the dosage is done. The opening and closing movement of the valves 6 and 7 is obtained by the action of the lever 17 with the handle 11. This assembly is fixed to the outside of the metering unit 1 by a ball joint system. At its end on the plug side 7, the lever 17 is forked so as to span the rod 5 serving as a guide. By pushing the lever 11 against the doser 1, the fork of the lever 17 puts pressure on the upper part of the valve 7 which is thus released from the seat 8 so as to allow the product to pass from the doser 1.
By releasing the lever 11, all of the valves 6 and 7 return to the closed position on the side of the seat 8, respectively open, on the side of the seat 3 under the effect of the spring 18.
Fig. V has the same embodiment as FIG. IV but in the open position of the valve 7, respectively closed, of the valve 6.
Fig. VI presents a fourth embodiment of the metering device with the same container and valve elements as for the executions according to fig. I and II. The difference is characterized by another form of valve blocking system. The lever 20, fixed to the outside of the metering unit 1, is provided at the end of a spout 22 folded over the rounded external part of the valve 7 in order to retain it hermetically closed on the seat 8 of the metering unit 1. Under the effect of the spring 21 placed between the lever 20 and the metering device 1, the lever 20 with its spout 22 retains the valve 7. To release the valve 7, it suffices to exert pressure against the metering device on the upper part of the valve. locking lever 20.
Fig. VII presents a variant with the container and valve elements identically similar to the executions according to fig. IV and V. The difference is characterized by the shape and the functioning of the release system of the valve 7. The inner end of the lever 17 forms an eccentric 19 which rests on the upper face of the valve 7. By a lateral rotation of the lever 11, the eccentric is released from the valve 7 so that the latter is released and returns under the effect of the spring 18 on the seat 8 and thus operates the closing of the metering device 1.
Fig. VIII presents another variant with the container and valve elements identically similar to the executions according to fig. IV and V. The difference is characterized by the shape and the functioning of the release system of the valve 7. The inner end of the lever 17 is forked in order to span the rod 5 serving as a guide. In addition, the lever 17 has a conical range. When pressure is exerted on the net ma 11, the conical range 17 slides and presses on the upper part of the valve 7 which is thereby released from the seat 8 of the metering device 1; the product can escape.
