Der Erfolg ist neben einer gleichmässigen und günstigen Tempera tur der Beschichtungsflüssigkeit und des Druckform zylinders über seine gesamte Länge hauptsächlich davon abhängig, d'ass der Druckzylinder mit der Beschichtungsf lüsszgkeit an jeder Stelle seiner Länge gleichmässig und während gleicher Zeitdauer in;

Device for coating printing cylinders with a photosensitive layer When coating printing cylinders, producing a uniform and bubble-free layer presents considerable difficulties.
In addition to a uniform and favorable tempera ture of the coating liquid and the printing forme cylinder over its entire length, success is mainly dependent on the fact that the printing cylinder with the coating liquid is uniform at every point along its length and for the same period of time in;
Contact is made and that only bubble-free coating liquid reaches the printing cylinder.
Devices are known which consist of a container for receiving the coating liquid with a bottom opening through which the printing cylinder is moved upwards, the bottom opening against the printing cylinder by means of. a sealing ring is complete.
If the printing cylinder is pulled through, the level of the coating liquid drops continuously with this device, so that the length of the operating surface is constantly decreasing and, as a result, the time during which the coating liquid rises with the surface of the printing cylinder at an even rate of migration Touch stands.
In the known device, it is also not ensured that the printing cylinder and also the coating liquid are kept at a uniform temperature or brought to such a temperature.
In other devices, the pressure cylinder is placed in the coating liquid and slowly withdrawn.
Apart from the fact that a uniform temperature is not maintained, these devices have the disadvantage, or the liquid and the printing cylinder are heated to a favorable temperature,
that the coating liquid acts on the lower section of the printing cylinder for a longer period of time than on the upper part and, as a result, uneven effects occur on the surface of the printing cylinder.
The invention is based on a device for covering printing cylinders with a light-sensitive layer, with a container for receiving the coating liquid,
the bottom of which has an opening provided with a sealing sleeve for pulling the pressure cylinder upwards. According to the invention, the liquid container is provided with a space above the base and around the base opening <RTI
ID = "0001.0117"> arranged: separating cylinder in two chambers; divided, with the trust nzyhnder as a connection between the chambers. until the fully permanent seal forms an adjustable gap.
With this device, the liquid level can be kept constant by pulling the pressure cylinder through, and it can be achieved that bubbles and impurities. the feed liquid, which generally collects in liquid containers on the surface of the liquid,
do not come into contact with the printing cylinder.
The separating cylinder can be adjustable in height. In order for the coating liquid to be admitted when the coating liquid is poured in before the coating and after the end of the coating: to the;
To be able to shut off the interior completely, can be provided below this edge of the separating cylinder in the bottom of the container a useful wedge-shaped channel into which the edge of the movable separating cylinder enters.
Furthermore, a heated jacket can be attached below the container, which is used to heat the pressure cylinder so that it is kept at a uniform temperature over its entire length.
The container and the heating jacket can be double-walled and connected to a hot water pipe. However, other means for heating the container and the heating jacket can also be seen.
An exemplary embodiment of the device is shown schematically in the drawing.
It shows: FIG. 1 a longitudinal section, FIG. 2 on a larger scale the upper part of the device.
The container 1 is: provided with an opening 2. At the opening edge 3, an elastic sleeve 4 is inserted, along which the outer surface of the pressure cylinder 5 strokes, which is pulled up through the opening. Inside the container there is a cylindrical partition 6 at a distance from the inner edge of the bottom opening, so that the liquid space is separated into two chambers 7, 8.
The separating cylinder 6 is adjustable in height by means of a device not presented and the lower edge is wedge-shaped. It corresponds to a wedge-shaped groove 9 in the edge 3 of the container bottom. The container 1 is inserted into a tub 10 through which: hot water or a suitable heating liquid flows through it.
As in the exemplary embodiment, the container can consist of one piece with the tub 10. Below the container 1 and the tub 10 is a double-walled cylinder 11, which is also flowed through by a heating fluid and heats the printing cylinder 5 to a uniform temperature and during this coating process, which is achieved by pulling out the Cylinder takes place in the direction of arrow A, maintains a constant temperature.
The outer chamber holds the bulk of the coating liquid. Due to the variable gap between the bottom of the container and the. At the lower edge of the separating cylinder 6, the inner chamber 8 and thus the surface of the printing cylinder 5 moving therein is supplied with such an amount of the liquid that remains on the printing cylinder during the coating process.
For correct dosing of the inflowing amount of liquid in the gap between the two chambers 7 and 8 adjustable. Since it is a coating liquid of relatively high viscosity, the liquid level in the inner chamber 8 remains lower than in the outer chamber 7, and indeed it remains consistently high. Furthermore, the surface of the pressure cylinder 5 is only the liquid free of bubbles and dirt particles, which is located at the bottom of the container 1,
fed.
The coating liquid in the container 7 flows through the adjustable gap between the lower edge of the separating cylinder 6 and the bottom 3 into the interior 8 and is kept at a constant height here, while the pressure cylinder 5 is pulled out upwards or pushed from below by means of a lifting device.
