Apparatus for treating textiles The present invention relates to a device for treating textiles, e.g. B. fabrics, with a liquid, such as a dye, or in a washing or scrubbing process. The device according to the invention is particularly suitable for dyeing fabrics in rope form, but other applications are also possible.
The device according to the invention, which has a vessel containing a liquid bath, is characterized in that a curved line is provided which extends over the bath and the outlet of which is directed downwards, a liquid pump on the one hand to the bath and on the other hand to the Line is connected to convey the liquid contained in the bath ent through the line.
The fabric or other textile material is advantageously introduced into the center of the liquid flow. For this purpose, an annular nozzle and a Venturi tube can be provided in the liquid path in order to center the tissue in the liquid stream. An exemplary embodiment of the device according to the invention is shown in the drawing.
1 shows a front view of the device, FIG. 2 shows a section along line 2-2 in FIG. 1 and FIG. 3 shows a detail on an enlarged scale in section.
In Figs. 1 and 2, a cylindrical pressure vessel 2 is shown, which is supported on a foot 4 in horizon tal position. The vessel 2 has an opening 5, which allows access to the interior of the same and enables it to be filled with dye or another treatment liquid L to a predetermined level, as shown in FIG.
A liquid outlet 6 is provided on the underside of the vessel 2 and is connected to the suction side of a pump 10 via a line 8. This pump 10, which is arranged outside the vessel 2, represents the only part of the apparatus with mechanically moved elements.
The pressure side of the pump 10 is connected to a device 1 which is connected to one end of a curved tube 14. The tube 14 is arranged in the upper part of the vessel 2 and extends from one side to the other, the ends being above the liquid level. The tube is preferably semicircular.
The tube 14 contains a liquid inlet 16 to which the line 12 is connected. A material inlet 18 is provided adjacent to this dimension. At the opposite end of the tube an outlet 20 is formed which is directed downwards and discharges liquid and material to be treated into the vessel. Inlet 16 and 18 and / or outlet 20 can be elongated and immersed in the liquid L. However, it is preferable if the tube 14 ends above the liquid level.
The apparatus shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 can be operated as follows. First the vessel 2 is filled with liquid in order to form the bath 1 in it. The liquid can be introduced through the opening 5, or other means can be used, e.g. B. A liquid source to the Umwälzsystzm can be ruled out in order to introduce the required amount of liquid through the pipe 14.
In any case, after the vessel has been filled, a predetermined amount of liquid is discharged through the outlet 6 by means of the pump 10 and fed via the line 12 to the measuring device 16 in the pipe 14. The pump 10 then presses the liquid through the pipe 14 in the form of a closed flow, which moves on a semicircular path and initially runs upwards from one side of the bath and then downwards on the other side through the outlet 20 is expelled into the bathroom.
A material to be treated, e.g. B. a fabric C in the form of a rope can be introduced through the opening 5 into the inlet 18 of the tube 14. As will be described later, the tissue end is sucked into the center of the liquid flow in the tube 14 with the result that the tissue is conveyed through the tube and expelled from the outlet by means of the flow caused by the pump 10 is generated in this pipe.
As a result of the curvature of the tube and the flow prevailing in it, the tissue C is moved through the bath after leaving the outlet 20, namely towards the inlet 18, i. H. in the direction of the arrows in FIG. 2. After a desired length of fabric is present in the bath, the free fabric end can be connected to the other end of the fabric, e.g. B. be connected by sewing, namely at the opening 5.
The closed fabric web can then be circulated continuously through the pipe and the bath, the duration of the treatment depending on the type of treatment.
A screen body 22 is preferably provided above the outlet 6 in order to prevent the Ge tissue from penetrating into this outlet.
In Fig. 3, the formation of the A let 16 and 18 provided end of the tube 14 is shown in more detail. The material inlet 18 has a pipe section 24 which extends into the pipe 14 and is fastened to it by a thread 26. This thread allows the distance between the rear end 27 to be adjusted relative to the pipe.
The tube 24 can by means of a nut. 28 and a rubber sealing ring 30 are secured at the end of the tube 14, the sealing ring preventing the liquid from flowing along the thread ver. Despite the fact that the tube 24 is adjustable, its rear end 27 must extend beyond the inlet 16. In addition, the outer diameter of the pipe must be smaller, e.g. B. by 25%, than the corresponding inner diameter of the tube 14 to form an annular space 32 surrounding the tube 24.
Behind the inner end 27 of the tube 24, an inwardly directed circumferential rib 34 is formed on the tube 14, which forms a Venturi nozzle 36 with an annular cross-section. The liquid conveyed through the pipe 12 to the inlet 16 enters the space 32 and flows around the pipe 24 in order to finally enter the pipe 14 through the nozzle 36 in the form of an annular jet.
As a result, the material to be treated introduced into the tube 24 is pulled out of this through the end 27 and passed through the tube 14 in the center of the liquid flow. The force exerted by the flow on the material can be adjusted by adjusting the tube 24 relative to the tube 14. In order to keep the turbulence at the nozzle 36 as small as possible, the end 27 of the tube 24 is provided on its outer surface with the same conicity as the interacting surface of the rib 34. The inlet 16 can also widen conically, as in 38 shown.
It is clear that various changes can be made to the apparatus described above. Instead of a tube 14 with a circular cross-section, for example, a quadrati cal or rectangular tube can be used. The type and size of the pipe depends on the material to be treated.
In the case of a rope or hose-shaped fabric, a circular pipe cross-section is preferable, while a rectangular pipe cross-section is more suitable for a flat structure.
The apparatus can be used to treat all types of textiles. For example, let sen, woven and other structures in the form of carpets, tapes, ropes, strands of yarn and fiber bundle from natural or synthetic fibers, eg. B. cotton, wool, rayon, nylon, polyethylene terephthalate (Dacron) and acrylic polymers such as Orlon and Acrilan.
Since there are no moving parts for conveying the tissue through the liquid bath, the tube 14 can be fully enclosed within a pressure vessel in order to carry out the dyeing process at high temperature and under pressure. The rapid movement of the dye and the movement of the tissue create excellent Be conditions for the distribution of the dye and a quick and even coloring.
The advantages of dyeing at high temperature are well known, but it has not previously been possible to dye in rope or strand form above atmospheric pressure. Of course, the device can also be used to dye at atmospheric pressure and ambient temperature. In such a case, the cylindri cal vessel 2 can be replaced by an open vessel.
The following can apply as a typical example of a method carried out with the device: 60 liters of dye were introduced into the vessel 2 through the opening 5. 16,000 liters per hour were withdrawn through line 8 and conveyed into pipe 14 by means of pump 10. One end of a blended fabric of Dacron and rayon in the form of a rope or hose was inserted into the inlet 18.
After about 80 meters were present in the vessel 2, the end in the bath was sewn to the other end of the rope through the opening 5. The vessel was then closed and heated to about 120 ° C. The circulation of the dye was then continued for about an hour with simultaneous circulation of the tissue through the tube 14 and the bath L. The liquid inlet 16 had an inner diameter of about 50 mm, while the nozzle 36 had a width of about 0.8 mm. The tube 14, which was bent in a semicircle, had an inner diameter of about 100 mm and was about 2.4 m long.
The tube 24 had an outside diameter of about 80 mm and an inside diameter of about 75 mm. An exquisitely colored product was produced.
If you work at atmospheric pressure, the dye in the bath can be used up completely within 20 minutes. Under pressure and at a correspondingly higher temperature, the dye absorption can be reduced by about half or more. However, the coloring time depends on various influences.
While the apparatus shown in the drawing has only one circuit, several bands or strands can be treated by lengthening the vessel and operating several nozzles from the same pump. The nozzles and pipes are arranged over the length of the vessel shares. In such a case, the apparatus can be used for continuous washing or dyeing under atmospheric conditions. It is Z.
B. possible to feed a strand through several nozzles one after the other, the strand entering the machine on one side and leaving it on the other side in a continuous process. The strand only passes each nozzle once.
