Method for treating textiles with a liquid The present invention relates to a method for treating fabrics or other textiles with a liquid, for example a dye or washing bath. The invention is particularly suitable for dyeing fabrics in rope form, but other applications are also possible.
Various processes have already become known for dyeing material in strand form. According to a known method of this type, the textile material sewn together to form an endless strand is treated on a dyeing vat by continuously dipping the material into the liquor and pulling it out again by means of a mechanical conveying device. The material is thus in continuous circulation. According to another known method of this type, the material is treated in a liquor which is contained in a vessel closed by a lid, the material being guided over a driven roller arranged outside the liquor.
Although these methods produce a very good coloration, they do not allow the coloring to be carried out in a completely closed container and, in particular, the coloring process cannot be carried out under increased pressure. The main reason for this is that the arrangement of the mechanical drive elements in a vessel containing the dye liquor easily leads to malfunctions and, on the other hand, a tight seal of the vessel is not possible if a conveyor element arranged in the vessel has to be driven from outside the vessel.
It has also already been proposed that fiber bundles or yarns, when they are treated in a liquid bath or a liquor by means of a liquid jet, have a transport effect which, either alone or together with mechanical conveying elements, is able to move the material to be treated through the liquor. to lead. However, this suggestion is based on dyeing processes or other textile treatment processes that require a certain duration of treatment,
poorly applicable and, in particular, a recirculation of endless strands, as takes place in reel-skid dyeing processes, is practically impossible, since the deflection of the strands which is necessary here produces a relatively large frictional resistance.
The present invention relates to a method for treating textiles with a liq fluid, in which the material can be transported through a liquor in the sense of recirculation without the aid of mechanical conveying means.
The inventive method is characterized by the removal of part of the liquid from the bath and transferring the liquid removed into a moving flow on a curved path, which extends over the bath and flows into it downwards, and a lead of the Textile material into the flow, so that the material is carried along by the flow into and through the bath, the process being repeated several times.
When the textile material above the bath is acted upon by the flow running in a separate path, the outflow of which is directed towards the bath, the material is not only guided and deflected, but it is also intensively rinsed and, if necessary, impregnated by the conveying medium Treatment liquid instead.
In the drawing, an apparatus is shown with which the inventive method can be carried out. 1 shows a front view of the apparatus, FIG. 2 shows a section along A-A in FIG. 1 and FIG. 3 shows a detail on an enlarged scale in section.
In Figs. 1 and 2, a cylindrical pressure vessel 2 is shown, which is supported on a foot 4 in horizon tal position. The vessel 2 has an opening 5 which allows access to the interior of the same and enables the same to be filled with dye or another treatment liquid L to a certain level before, as shown in FIG.
A liquid outlet 6 is provided on the underside of the vessel 2 and is connected to the suction side of a pump 10 via a line 8. This pump 10, which is arranged outside of the vessel 2, represents the only part of the apparatus with mechanically moved elements.
The pressure side of the pump 10 is connected to a line 12 which is connected to one end of a curved pipe 14. The tube 14 is arranged in the upper part of the vessel 2 and extends from one side to the other, the ends being above the liquid level. The tube is semicircular here.
The tube 14 contains a liquid inlet 16 to which the line 12 is connected. A material inlet 18 is provided adjacent to this dimension. At the opposite end of the tube an outlet 20 is formed which is directed downwards and discharges liquid and material to be treated into the vessel. Inlet 16 and 18 and / or outlet 20 can be elongated and immersed in the liquid L. However, it is preferable if the tube 14, as shown in Fig. 2, ends above the liq sigkeitsleeveaus.
The method according to the invention can be carried out with the aid of the apparatus shown as follows: First, the vessel 2 is filled with liquid, which can be introduced through the opening 5 or through the pipe 14 from a liquid source connected to the circulation system. In any case, after the vessel has been filled, a predetermined amount of liquid is discharged through the outlet 6 by means of the pump 10 and fed via the line 12 to the inlet 16 in the pipe 14.
The pump 10 then presses the liquid through the pipe 14 in the form of a closed flow, which moves on a semicircular path and initially from one side of the bath upwards. runs, and then on the other side is discharged downwards through the outlet 20 into the bath. A material to be treated, e.g. B. a fabric C in the form of a rope can be introduced through the opening 5 into the inlet 18 of the tube 14.
As will be described later. one end of the tissue is sucked into the center of the liquid flow in the tube 14 with the result that the tissue is conveyed through the tube and expelled from the outlet, by means of the flow generated by the pump 10 in this tube is procreated. As a result of the curvature of the tube or its end towards the bath and the curvature of the bottom of the vessel or a sieve attached over it, the textile material is constantly moved on its orbit through the bath, namely against the inlet 18. After a desired Ge webel length is present in the bathroom, the free end of the fabric with the other end of the fabric, for.
B. by sewing, at the opening 5. The closed fabric web can then continuously circulate through the pipe and the bath, the duration of the treatment depends on the type of treatment.
A screen body 22 is preferably provided above the outlet 6 in order to prevent the tissue from penetrating into this outlet.
In Fig. 3 the design of the end of the tube 14 provided with the inlets 16 and 18 is shown in more detail. The material inlet 18 has a pipe section 24 which extends into the pipe 14 and is fastened to it by a thread 26. This thread allows the distance between the rear end 27 to be adjusted relative to the pipe. The tube 24 can be secured by means of a nut 28 and a rubber sealing ring 30 at the end of the tube 14, the sealing ring preventing the liquid from flowing out along the thread. The rear end 27 of the tube must extend beyond the inlet 16. In addition, the outer diameter of the pipe must be smaller, e.g.
B. by 25 ',' o, than the corresponding inner diameter of the tube 14, in order to form a space surrounding the tube 24 with an annular cross-section 32.
Behind the inner end 27 of the tube 24, an inwardly directed circumferential rib 34 is formed on the tube 14, which rib forms a Venturi nozzle 36 with an annular cross section. The liquid conveyed through the pipe 12 to the inlet 16 enters the space 32 and flows around the pipe 24 to finally enter the pipe 14 through the nozzle 36 in the form of a jet with an annular cross-section. As a result, the material to be treated, which is introduced into the tube 24, is withdrawn therefrom at the end 27, and passed through the tube 14 in the center of the liquid flow. The force exerted by the flow on the material can be adjusted by adjusting the tube 24 relative to the tube 14.
In order to keep the turbulence at the nozzle 36 as small as possible, the end 27 of the tube 24 is provided on its outer surface with the same conicity as the interacting surface of the rib 34. The inlet 16 can widen conically, as shown at 38.
It is clear that various changes can be made to the apparatus described above. Instead of a tube 14 with a circular cross-section, for example, a square or rectangular tube can be used. The type and size of the pipe depends on the material to be treated. In the case of a rope or hose-shaped fabric, a circular pipe cross-section is preferable, while a rectangular pipe cross-section is more suitable for a flat structure.
The process can be used to treat all types of textiles. For example, woven and other structures in the form of carpets, tapes, ropes, strands of yarn and fibers can be bundled from natural or synthetic fibers, e.g. B. cotton, wool, rayon, nylon, polyethylene terephthalate (Dacron, registered trademark) and acrylic polymers such as Orlon and Acrilan (registered trademarks).
Since there are no moving parts to convey the tissue through the liquid bath, the tube 14 can be fully enclosed within a pressure vessel to allow the treatment, e.g. B. dyeing, to be carried out at high temperature and under pressure. The rapid movement of the dyebath and the movement of the fabric create excellent conditions for the distribution of the dye and rapid and even dyeing. The advantages of high temperature dyeing are known; however, up to now it has not been possible to carry out the dyeing in rope or strand form above half atmospheric pressure. Of course, the process can also be used to dye at atmospheric pressure and ambient temperature.
In such a case, the cylindrical vessel 2 can be replaced by an open vessel. Exemplary embodiment 60 liters of dye solution are introduced into the vessel 2 through the opening 5. 16,000 liters per hour are withdrawn through the line 8 and conveyed into the pipe 14 by means of the pump 10. One end of a blended fabric of Dacron and rayon in the form of a rope or tube is inserted into the inlet 18. As soon as there are about 80 meters in the vessel 2, the end in the bath is sewn to the other end of the rope through the opening 5. The vessel is then closed and heated to around 120 ° C.
The circulation of the dye is then continued for about an hour with simultaneous circulation of the tissue through the tube 14 and the bath L. The liquid inlet 16 has an inner diameter of about 50 mm, while the nozzle 36 has a width of about 0, 8 mm. The tube 14, which is bent semi-circularly, has an inner diameter of about 100 mm and is about 2.4 m long. The tube 24 has an outside diameter of about 80 mm and an inside diameter of about 75 mm. An exquisitely colored product is produced.
When working at atmospheric pressure, the dye in the bath can be used up completely within 20 minutes. Under pressure and at a correspondingly higher temperature, the time for complete dye absorption can be reduced by about half or more. However, the dyeing time depends on various factors.
While the apparatus shown in the drawing has only one circuit, several ribbons or strands can be treated by extending the vessel and operating several nozzles from the same pump. The nozzles and pipes are arranged over the length of the vessel shares. In such a case, the apparatus can be used for continuous washing or dyeing under atmospheric conditions. It is Z. B. possible to pass one strand one after the other through several nozzles, the strand entering the machine on one side and leaving it on the other side in a continuous union process.
The strand only passes each nozzle once.
