Frames, especially for doors and windows The previously usual window and door frames made of wood or steel have the disadvantage that they are only slightly weatherproof and therefore gradually deteriorate in appearance and are given a new protective coating at regular intervals have to. That is why more weather-resistant light metals have already been used instead of steel. However, such frames are quite expensive if they are to be sufficiently stable and their durability is also limited.
It has also been proposed to make window and door frames made of hollow-profile legs made of plastic with a correspondingly large wall thickness. This resulted in the disadvantage that when using a highly weather-resistant and therefore expensive plastic, due to the large wall thickness required for the necessary strength and the correspondingly high material consumption, economical production was not possible, while economically viable plastics were not necessary for window and door frames have high weather resistance.
According to the invention, the frame composed of hollow-profile legs is characterized in that the legs of the frame are formed on the outside by an approx. 1 mm layer of highly weather-resistant plastic and inside the legs are formed by a core that ensures the shape retention and strength of the frame less weather-resistant plastic is provided. The core expediently consists of a plastic compound made of phenol formaldehyde resin and wood flour, while the legs of the frame on the outside can be made of PVC. The core itself can be solid or hollow in order to reduce weight.
To connect these frame legs at the corners can be inserted in cross-section with the Innenpro fil of the frame legs matching Win elbow pieces in the hollow for this purpose ends of the colliding frame legs and connected to them by gluing or welding. The subject of the invention is shown in an exemplary embodiment in the drawing.
1 shows a hollow profile used to manufacture the frame legs; Fig. 2 is a vertical longitudinal section through a leg made from the profile of Figure 1 frame; FIG. 3 shows a horizontal section through a frame of the human leg according to FIG. 2; 4 shows two corner connections in different stages of manufacture; Fig. 5 shows an angle piece in a larger representation.
The hollow profile rail 1, which is T-shaped in the example shown, is made of a plastic of the highest weather resistance by means of any known manufacturing process, e.g. B. PVC, which is very resistant to mechanical and chemical stresses, manufactured. In view of the high costs, the wall thickness of the frame leg is preferably not chosen to be greater than 1 mm.
The inadequate strength or strength for a window or door frame. Dimensional stability of such a frame is increased to the necessary degree by using a stiffening core 2, which, unlike the frame, consists of plastic masses of correspondingly high strength. As such a plastic compound, for. B.
Phenol formaldehyde resin or Sorrel cement, water glass u. similar Binders with suitable additives as fillers, such as wood flour, wood fibers, cork flour, etc. are used.
The core 2 itself can be designed to be full or also hollow.
The profile rail 1 is expediently filled only after it has been trimmed into the shape of the individual frame legs 3, ie. H. cut to the correct length, with the ends cut in Geh tion.
The reason for this measure lies in the corner connection of the frame legs 3, which provides that the ends of the frame legs 3 remain hollow, so that an angle piece 4 which establishes the connection and which is preferably also made of plastics is inserted into the hollow ends 5 of the abutting legs 3 is inserted and can be glued to these. To increase the strength of this connection, pins 6 can be provided on the angle pieces, which engage in corresponding depressions 7 in the filling core 2.
In addition, several grooves or grooves 8 are made on the surfaces of the elbows 4, which receive the bonding agent used for gluing, whereby a particularly strong connec tion between the elbow 4 and the frame leg 3 is formed.
