<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

in bestimmten Zeitintervallen eine bestimmte einstellbare Menge Luft absaugen bzw. entsprechend Frischluft zuführen will.

Arrangement for a room ventilation The invention relates to an arrangement for a room ventilation by means of a fan.
The purpose of the invention is to create a simple and inexpensive arrangement for room ventilation, which can be installed by the user himself, requires practically no maintenance and ensures that sufficient fresh air is supplied. A preferred application of the invention is stall ventilation.
Arrangements for stall ventilation are known in which a fan sucking the stall air from a thermostat, e.g. B. a bimetal regulator switched.
The disadvantage of these designs is that the fan that extracts the air in the house still has to be switched on and off manually, but the thermostat only switches off when the lowest house temperature, e.g. B. 14 C is fallen below.
The disadvantage that it always has to be operated by hand and that it is often either switched on or off is forgotten and it is still up to the individual to decide when to switch on or off, is to be eliminated by the invention.
In an arrangement for room ventilation, in which a fan that sucks the room air is switched by a thermostat, the solution to the problem according to the invention is that in series with the thermostat that switches off when the room temperature is too low, it switches at adjustable time intervals, regardless of the room temperature Contacts are arranged.
Such an arrangement is based on the consideration that z. B. in a stable a certain number of cattle units has a certain fresh air requirement or consumption. The time intervals in which the contacts automatically switch the fan off and on depend on the number of livestock units in the barn. Through experiments z. B. found that the air rate (amount of sucked air) 100 ms for cattle and horses per hour is sufficient. The contacts can now be switched in such a way that the fan is switched on and off so often in an hour that the required air rate is available.
The fan is dimensioned so large that it is not switched on continuously. The length of the breaks then depends on the size of the fan and the livestock units to be supplied with fresh air. This supply of fresh air is independent of the outside temperature. There is only one thermostat, which shuts down the whole system if there is a risk of hypothermia in the barn. As a rule, such thermostats are set to 14 C.
Of course, the appropriate air inlet slots are available in the house so that the same amount of fresh air enters the house as the extracted air.
One possibility of designing the contacts that switch at adjustable time intervals is that the periodically switching contacts are formed by a bimetal strip with a heating coil, which work in a self-interrupting circuit.
Such arrangements are z. B. in advertising lighting, known. They have the advantage of being cheap. The switching capacity is also sufficient, as fans that are used to ventilate the barn usually only consume 40 to 120 watts.
If there is a risk of corrosion on the contacts due to the climate in the house
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Another possibility is that the periodically switching contacts are formed by a mercury switch, one contact being formed by the mercury column and the other contact being an armature which is periodically moved magnetically through the glass wall and which carries a contact.
Such switches are known. You will e.g. B. used in electric fence devices, where also periodically switched on and off.
It is expedient for the distance between the periodically switching contacts to be adjustable using an eccentric.
This setting option will be used with a bimetal strip with heating coil, while with mercury switches z. B. mechanical escapements can be moved whose inhibiting force is also adjustable.
A particularly expedient construction of the stable fan with the contacts is that the setting buttons for the thermostat and the periodically switching contacts are arranged next to one another on a housing that accommodates the fan in the suction pipe at the back and has the exhaust air openings at the top and bottom.
Such a design achieves the draft-free removal of the stall air and an attachment of the stall ventilation, which takes up little space in the stall and therefore does not give rise to any work impediment.
Embodiments of the invention are shown in the drawing.
Fig. 1 shows schematically the housing with the knobs and the fan in partial section in the stable wall, Fig. 2 corresponds to the side view of Fig. 1, Fig. 3 shows the circuit diagram of the arrangement, Fig. 4 shows a possibility of forming a mercury switch .
In Fig. 1, the stable wall 1 is drawn, into which a circular opening was chiselled so that the suction pipe 2 can be introduced. The fan 3 is arranged in the suction pipe 2. A closing flap 4 prevents the penetration of gusts of wind. In the housing there is also a control flap 5, which can be brought into the positions 7, 8, 9 by means of a handle 6.
As a result of these different positions and the corresponding pivoting of the control flap, it is achieved that, when the position shown is assumed, the suction takes place in the direction of arrow 10 from below from the stable floor 11. In position 8, the suction takes place half in the direction of arrow 10 from below and half in the direction of arrow 12 from above. In the position 9, the suction then only takes place from above in the direction of arrow 12. The suctioned air then reaches the outside in the direction of arrow 13. In position 9 the suction only takes place in the direction of arrow 12 from above.
From FIG. 2 it can be seen that the setting buttons 15, 16 for operating the system are present next to one another in the housing 14. The function is then as follows: Mains voltage is applied to the connection terminals 17, 18 in FIG. The mains voltage is indicated by the glow lamp 19, which is connected in series with the series resistor 20. A thermostat 21, the z. B. is formed by bi-metal strips 22, serves as a setting for the lowest temperature. He switches off the system if z. B the temperature falls below 14 C in order to avoid hypothermia in the stable.
In series with this thermostat 21 are then the contacts 23, 24, which are periodically switched on and off independently of the temperature. B. the contact 24 a heating coil 25 on a bi-metal strip. If the eccentric 26 is moved, which is done by turning the adjusting knob 16, it can then be achieved that the contacts 23, 24 close. If the main switch 27 is closed, then the winding 25 heats the bimetal strip and opens the contacts 23, 24 again, so that an interruption takes place.
The fan 3 is switched off and on in accordance with this switch-on and switch-off cycle. The operating state is indicated by the glow lamp 29 with the series resistor 30. Depending on the position of the switch-on button 16 or of the eccentric 26, a more or less long time elapses between cooling and heating of the heating coil 25. The switch-on and switch-off pauses of the fan 3 are correspondingly shorter or longer. This makes it possible to turn off the fresh air to be supplied, precisely matched to the number of cattle units.
4 shows a mercury switch known per se, the magnet winding 31 of which with the adjustable series resistor 32 is connected to the same terminals as the heating winding 25.
In a glass tube 33 there is a resilient tongue 34 which carries an armature 35 at the front and the contact 36. If the armature drops, the contact 36 makes contact with the mercury 37. The fan 3 is then switched via connections 38, 39. A mechanical escapement known per se is not shown in detail. Instead of the mechanical inhibition, it is also just as possible to arrange another magnet opposite the magnet 40, which magnet exerts the opposite effect on the armature 35. The time sequence in which the armature 35 is moved back and forth in the direction of arrow 41 then depends on the predominance of the magnetic force from the magnet 40 or the counter magnet (not shown).
The electromagnet 40 can also be replaced by a permanent magnet. If the permanent magnet is now moved closer to or removed from the armature 35 through a bimetal strip 24 with a heating coil 25 on which it is attached, the same switch-on and switch-off cycle takes place.
As an application of the invention, all possibilities of ventilation, in particular of stables, are to be designated, where one is independent of the temperature

wants to suck in a certain adjustable amount of air at certain time intervals or to supply fresh air accordingly.
