EMI1.1
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
Fig. l.
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
tiger Phasenfolge angeschlossen ;

EMI1.1
The invention relates to a stationary electrical room heater for room ventilation devices or the like ... so-called air conditioning fan, the fan of which is arranged in the fan housing, which contains a thermal relay with a temperature sensor around which the fan air flows and which automatically supplies power to the heating elements via a contactor when a maximum temperature occurring in the device is exceeded interrupts.
In the case of portable space heating devices that are freely accessible from all sides, it is known to provide a bimetal switch which becomes effective in the event of inadmissible heating of the heating elements, for example if the blower fails. In this switch, the actual bimetal element is held in place by a snap spring, which can only be locked again by a button acting on it when the bimetal element has returned to its original rest position after cooling.
The use of such a bimetal switch is forbidden with a stationary built-in electrical space heater, since according to the structural design of the switch, the push button for the mechanical restart lock in the immediate vicinity of the bimetal element, i.e. H. the temperature sensor, must be arranged, but the space heater as such is not accessible.
Room ventilation devices generally consist of a more or less long air duct which connects the outside air or a ventilation chimney with the interior of the room to be ventilated and to which a so-called air conditioning fan is assigned, which in turn has a fan and a heating element arranged in a fan housing having. Steam heating coils or electrical heating elements, for example wire coils, can be used as heating elements.
In order to counteract the dangers that arise when the fan motor stops unintentionally, it is known to install an overcurrent switch in the motor circuit of the fan. Since the starting current of such fan motors is, however, generally much higher than the rated current, these overcurrent switches cannot be set in such a way that they respond immediately when the motor is at a standstill. It is therefore fundamentally not possible to achieve reliable protection against excessive heating of the heating elements in this way. Therefore, a wind vane relay was built into the air flow of the air conditioning fan, which causes the heating elements to be switched off when the fan stops now, as has been shown, to quickly get dirty and thus jam with closed contacts.
Since air conditioning fans are usually installed near the ceiling of the room and thus in an inadequate place where it is not easy to check the wind vane relay, for example, this solution also harbors considerable fire risks. The ineffectiveness of the relay is generally not noticed.
The invention has provided a remedy here in a simple manner in that the contactor controlling the power supply to the heating elements is activated after the thermal relay has responded
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The electrical restart lock-out is assigned, which is formed by a contact pair of the contactor that can be temporarily bridged by means of a manually operated pushbutton and is located in the exciter circuit of the contactor to which a selector switch that controls the power supply to the heating elements and the fan motor is assigned, if necessary.
This enables the manual release of the restart lock to be carried out on any
Place far away from the permanently installed space heater, since the associated push button is only connected to the electrical control device of the device with two lines. This novel design makes it possible to dispense with the use of a wind vane relay, which has the disadvantages already mentioned, as was previously used, even in the case of stationary room heating devices.
The use of a temperature sensor, which in and of itself, since it is arranged in a closed housing and therefore cannot be blocked, is characterized by very excellent operational reliability, made the invention possible in a fixedly installed device a
Has created the possibility of continuously switching the thermal relay on and off, as would result if the fan motor stopped as a result of the periodic heating and cooling of the temperature sensor, without it being necessary, for example by means of a ladder, to which about permanently installed space heater arranged below the ceiling.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown. Show it :
1 shows an air conditioning fan according to the invention partially in a cutout in a perspective illustration. FIG. 2 shows the air conditioning fan according to FIG. 1 in a schematic illustration in an axial section on a different scale, FIG. 3 shows the air conditioning fan according to FIG more perspective
Representation on a different scale and FIG. 4 shows the electrical circuit diagram of the air conditioning fan
Fig. L.
The air conditioning fan consists of a box-shaped housing 1, on one side of which a blind with adjustable air baffles 3 is arranged in a frame 2 detachably connected to the housing 1. The air baffles 3 can preferably be adjusted so that the air flowing in the direction of arrow A (FIG. 2) is deflected upwards. The other side of the housing 1 is closed with a cover plate 4 which leaves an opening 5 of circular cross section. In the housing 1 there is a fan, the motor 7 of which is connected by means of the supports 8 to the side walls of the housing 1 via screws 9. On the shaft 10 of the fan motor 7 there is a fan wheel 11, the blades 12 of which are fitted into the opening 5 of the cover plate 4 of the housing 1.
Behind the fan wheel 11, electrical heating elements 13 are wound in a spiral shape on a surface corresponding to the circular cross section of the opening 5. The connections of the heating elements 13 are routed to a terminal strip at 14.
In the interior of the housing 1, a thermal relay 15 is also arranged, the temperature-sensitive element i6 of which lies in the flow of the air sucked in by the fan wheel 12. The electrical lines of the fan motor 7, the thermal relay 15 and the heating elements 13, which are not shown in FIG. 1 for the sake of clarity, are each routed to one or more externally accessible terminal strips, as indicated for example at 17.
The housing 1 is provided on the outside with a coating made of plastic, which is indicated at 18 and which can have a sound-absorbing effect.
The heating elements 13 are divided into several groups, which can be switched on by means of a selector switch 19 (FIG. 4) to change the heating power of the air conditioning fan as desired. The fan motor 7, the heating elements 13, the thermal relay 15 and the selector switch 19 are connected together in accordance with the circuit diagram of FIG.
The thermal relay 15 is switched on via a contact 22 of the contactor 21, to which a pushbutton 24 is parallel, in the circuit of the excitation coil 20 of a three-phase current contactor 21 connected to the three-phase current guide lines RST of the air conditioning fan. In series with the thermal relay 15 is: a pair of contacts 25 of the selector switch 19, which has six switching paths a-f and six pairs of contacts 25-30. A signal lamp 31 is located parallel to the excitation coil 20 of the contactor 21. Each of the switching paths a-f of the selector switch 19 corresponds to a certain position of the switch.
There are :
In the switching position a, the heating elements 13 are switched off and the fan motor 7 is connected with two reversed phases, so that the air is conveyed in the opposite direction; in switch position b, the fan motor 7 and the heating elements 13 are switched off; in switch position c, the heating elements 13 are switched off and the fan motor 7 is connected in the correct phase sequence so that the air is conveyed in the normal direction (arrow A in FIG. 2); in the switch position d a third of the heating elements 13 are switched on and the fan motor 7 is in correct
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
tiger phase sequence connected;
in the switch position e 2/3 the heating elements 13 are switched on and the fan motor is connected in the correct phase sequence and in the switching position f all heating elements 13 are switched on and the fan motor 7 is connected in the correct phase sequence.
To switch on the air conditioning fan, the procedure is that the button 24 is pressed and then the selector switch 19 is first moved from switch position b into one of the two desired switch positions a and c, whereupon the button 24 can be released again. The excitation coil 20 of the contactor 21 is initially connected to voltage via the closed pair of contacts 25, the thermal relay 15 and the closed button 24, so that the contacts of the contactor 21 are closed. This also actuates the contact 22, which prevents the circuit of the excitation coil 20 of the contactor 21 from being interrupted when the button 24 is released.
Should now z. If, for example, the fan motor 7 stops or the air temperature exceeds a maximum value that can be set in the thermal relay 15 for some other reason, the thermal relay 15 interrupts the excitation circuit of the contactor 21, the contacts of which thus drop. Since the contactor 21 can only be switched on again by pressing the button 24 serving as a restart lock, the excitation coil 20 is no longer connected to voltage when the thermal relay 15 cools down and thus closes its contacts again.
In parallel with the excitation coil 20 of the contactor 21 there is a signal lamp 31 which lights up when the excitation coil 20 is connected to voltage and the contactor 21 is thus switched on.
The connections for the supply lines RSTMp of the air conditioning fan are brought together on a terminal strip 17, as is also indicated, for example, in FIG.
