where R1 is a hydrocarbon radical of aliphatic character with 3-7 carbon atoms, R2 is a hydrocarbon radical and n is a lower integer, but at least 2, or their salts.

EMI1.3
wherein R1 and R2 together contain at least 5 carbon atoms, preferably 7-10 carbon atoms, and their salts.
The hydrocarbon radical of aliphatic character R1 with 3-7 carbon atoms is, for example, an alkyl radical, such as propyl, isopropyl, butyl, secondary rutyl, pentyl, isopentyl, hexyl or heptyl, a cycloalkyl radical, such as cyclopentyl or cyclohexyl, or an unsaturated radical, such as allyl, cyclopentenyl or cyclohexenyl. The hydrocarbon radical R2 is also expediently of an aliphatic character, especially an aliphatic or cycloaliphatic hydrocarbon radical with 1-10, especially 3-6 carbon atoms, preferably a lower straight or branched alkyl radical, e.g. B.
Methyl, ethyl, propyl, isopropyl, allyl, methallyl, butyl, sec-butyl, pentyl or hexyl, or a cycloalkyl radical, e.g. B. cyclopentyl or cyclohexyl. The symbol n preferably stands for a number from 2-4, in particular for 2.
The new compounds, especially those of the formula
EMI1.4
where R1 is butyl or pentyl and R2 is propyl or butyl, and their salts have good local anesthetic properties and can accordingly be used as medicinal agents. Mainly to be mentioned here are the N- [ss- (mn-pentyloxy-phenoxy) -ethyl] -isopropylamine, the N- [ss- (mn-pentyloxy-phenoxy) -ethyl] -isobutylamine, and the N- [ ss- (mn-butoxy-phenoxy) -ethyl] -n-butylamine, and their salts.
The process according to the invention for the preparation of the new compounds is characterized in that a compound of the formula
EMI1.5
substituted by the radical R2.
The substitution can preferably be carried out reductively, e.g. B. directly, d. H. by reaction with an aldehyde or ketone R'2 = 0, where R'2H is the same as R5, under reducing conditions, or in stages, by initially forming the Schiff's base or a corresponding oxy compound by reaction with the oxo compound mentioned and this then the reduction z. B. with hydrogen in the presence of catalysts such as nickel catalysts, e.g. B. Raney nickel, or with Di light metal hydrides, such as sodium borohydride, is subjected.
The reaction mentioned can be carried out in a customary manner.
Depending on the procedure, the new compounds are obtained in the form of the free bases or their salts. The free amine bases can be obtained from the salts in a manner known per se. From the latter, in turn, salts can be obtained by reaction with acids which are suitable for the formation of therapeutically useful salts, e.g. B. the hydrohalic acids, sulfuric acid, nitric acid, phosphoric acid, hydrofluoric acid, acetic acid, propionic acid, oxalic acid, malonic acid, tartaric acid, succinic acid, malic acid, methanesulfonic acid, ethanesulfonic acid, oxyethanesulfonic acid, benzene or toluenesulfonic acids or of therapeutically active acids.
The starting materials are known or can be obtained by methods known per se.
The starting materials can also be formed under the reaction conditions.
The new compounds can be used as remedies, e.g. B. in the form of pharmaceutical preparations which contain them or their salts mixed with a pharmaceutical, organic or inorganic, solid or liquid carrier material suitable for enteral, topinal or parenteral administration.
In the following example the temperatures are given in degrees Celsius.
