Description

Built-in pipe filler There are already lighters for smokers, whether they are for liquid or gaseous fuel, comprising a sliding pipe filler, adjoining and incorporated into the housing which then itself constitutes its main body. and guidance.

However advantageous it may be, this assembly nevertheless has the drawback that in the event of accidental deformation of the housing resulting from impacts or falls, the sliding of the pipe tamper is blocked or made difficult.

There are also lighters of this type in which the pipe filler requires additional holding and guiding members which are delicate, bulky and increase the price.

According to the invention, the stem of the pipe tamper is constituted by a hollow cylindrical element slurrying and surrounding the stone tube of the lighter which serves as a guide for the cylindrical element.

The accompanying drawing shows, by way of nonlimiting example, an embodiment of the invention. FIG. 1 represents the pipe filler; fig. 2 is a longitudinal section of a lighter in which the pipe tamper is in the retracted position; fig. 3 is the same longitudinal section as FIG. 2, the filler pipe being in the extended position; fig. 4 shows this lighter without its housing or its reservoir, provided with: its pipe tamper.

The lighter is of the type having the stone tube located laterally and outside the tank, but inside the case.

This lighter comprises, in substance, a head 2, a housing 3 and a reservoir 4. The head 2 serves as a support for the entire mechanism and for the stone tube 5; this stone tube 5 serves as a male telescope guide to a tubular rod 6. This rod 6 carries at its upper part a knurled button 7, the fixing lug 8 of which is welded to said rod. The lower end of the rod 6 is closed by a paddle-pipe 9 welded as shown in FIG. 1.

The assembly 6, 7, 8, 9 constitutes the actual pipe tamper. Thanks to an opening 11 provided in the bottom of the housing 3, the rod 6 can slide along the stone tube 5. When the rod 6 is retracted as far as possible, the pallet 9 fits right into the opening 11 as shown in fig. . 2.

The button 7 is located on the outside of the housing 3 and its fixing tab 8 passes freely through a groove 12 cut in the face 3a of the housing 3. The bottom 12a of this groove serves as a stop for the tab 8 and lower limit the sliding of the stuffer pipe.

The spring blade 13 in the form of a clamp, fixed to the top of the stone tube 5 and which bears, by its sides, on two opposite interior faces of the housing 3, thus ensuring the maintenance of its assembly to the head 2, also takes support by its ends, on the rod 6 which it encloses and thus brakes its sliding along the stone tube 5.

Thus, to bring the pipe tamper into the extended position, it suffices to exert, on the button 7, a thrust up and down sufficient to overcome the friction due to the leaf spring 13, a pressure in the opposite direction bringing the pipe tamper in retracted position.

The adaptation of this pipe tamper does not require any additional device, and moreover, its operation is insensitive to the deformations that the housing may undergo. As a result, its cost price is extremely low. On the other hand, the volume of the briquet is not increased.
