In gewissen Fällen jedoch, in welchen z.
Wheel suspension The present invention is a wheel suspension for rail vehicles with three wheel pairs, the axes of which are supported in axle housings. It can be rail locomotives, the six wheels of which are suspended directly from the locomotive frame, or rail wagons with six-wheeled chassis.
The wheels of such rail vehicles normally have to be resilient in the vertical direction with small deflections in the stationary state, and since the rail vehicles often have to travel on very irregular rails, it is customary to provide at least approximately a load compensation between the wheel axles so that the Load is practically distributed over the axles in the desired manner while driving.
In this context, it should be noted that load balancing means maintaining the load ratio of the wheel axles that was predetermined during the construction of the vehicle. In most cases it is required that the load is evenly distributed over the individual wheel axles. In certain cases, however, in which z. B. one of three axes is only a support axis, while the other two axes are drive axes, the drive axes can be more heavily loaded than the support axis, which results in better adhesion of the wheels on the rails. In this case, load balancing means maintaining the predetermined load ratio during driving.
According to the invention, the wheel suspension of the type mentioned at the outset is characterized in that a pair of balancing beams extending in opposite directions is provided for the axle housing of each wheel of the middle pair of wheels, which are articulated on the axle housing or on a part firmly connected to it, that they can be swiveled up and down in a vertical longitudinal plane,
The equalizing beams extending in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle are connected with their end parts further away from the central axle housings with the adjacent axle housing of the two other wheels on the corresponding side of the vehicle and that the vertical load of the suspended vehicle parts as well as the traction acting in the direction of travel - And braking forces are provided on absorbing rubber springs, which are arranged such that they share the vertical load in a predetermined ratio on the wheels ver.
As a result of the configuration described, each individual wheel of three wheel pairs can 'lift' with respect to the five other wheels against a spring force which is less than the force counteracting a simultaneous lifting of a pair of adjacent wheels of the three wheel pairs on the same side of the vehicle with respect to the vehicle body.
In a preferred embodiment of the suspension according to the invention, the rubber springs are arranged in such a way that the vertical load is evenly distributed over all wheels. This does not necessarily have to be the case, however, and the springs can also be arranged in such a way that the two outer pairs of wheels or their axles are more heavily loaded than the middle axle.
The axle housings are expediently self-adjusting, and the ends of the equalizing beams are firmly connected to the adjacent axle housings, which are assigned to the other two wheels on the same side of the vehicle.
This facilitates the construction insofar as no free play has to be created for the axle housings of the individual axles so that they can adjust themselves while the vehicle is in motion. The rubber springs expediently support the vertical load of the suspended parts of the vehicle under both shear stress and compression, the shear stress on the rubber springs being greater. Furthermore, the rubber springs are expediently designed so that they can withstand a transverse movement of the wheels with respect to the suspended parts of the vehicle under loads of shear and compression.
In this case, the rubber springs not only take up the vertical load of the suspended parts of the vehicle, but they also regulate the transverse movements of the wheels with respect to the suspended vehicle parts and thus of course also the suspended vehicle parts with respect to the wheels.
In a particular embodiment of the wheel suspension according to the invention, a single rubber spring unit is provided between each equalizer and a frame of the vehicle in order to absorb the vertical load of the suspended parts of the vehicle. In this case, each rubber spring unit has two angled rubber springs which are arranged at a distance from one another in a vertical longitudinal plane of the vehicle. The at the feathers are arranged with their tip facing in opposite directions.
However, the springs can also be arranged so that they are each formed by a pair of rubber blocks arranged in a V-shape.
Some embodiments of the subject invention are in the accompanying drawings Darge provides.
1 shows a side view of a wheel suspension according to the invention for a six-wheel diesel-electric locomotive, the wheels of which are arranged in three pairs and are suspended directly on the frame of the locomotive, FIG. 2 shows a plan view of one half of the suspension according to FIG 1, the suspension of course being identical on both sides with respect to a longitudinal center line through the locomotive, FIG. 3 a side view of a further Radaufhang according to the invention also for a six-wheel diesel-electric locomotive with wheels arranged in three pairs, FIG in plan view one half of the suspension according to Fig.
3, the suspension on both sides of a longitudinal center line of the locomotive being identical in this case as well, and FIG. 5 a partial view according to FIG. 3 of a variant of this wheel suspension.
In the drawing, the same parts are provided with the same reference numbers.
According to FIGS. 1 and 2, the subframe 10 of the locomotive has three pairs of wheels 11, 12 and 13. This frame 10 could also be designed as the frame of a chassis of a railroad car, as will be explained in more detail below. In the construction shown, the middle wheels 12 have no rim flange. They have a cylindri cal shape. These wheels could just as well have a truncated cone shape. The axle housings of the wheels are denoted by 14 in the drawing.
The axle housing 14 of each of the two mitt sized wheels 12 is carried by a carrier 15, the cross section of which has the shape of an inverted U and which is fastened by means of a retaining screw 16 to the axle housing.
On each carrier 15 two Gleichsträ ger 17 are articulated, which protrude in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle depending on one of the two sides of the central axle housing.
Each equalizing beam is forked at its hinge end and is articulated to the central beam 15 by means of a pair of thin-walled rubber sleeves 18. The rubber sleeves are arranged across the vehicle from each other and are each against one of the fork arms of the equalizing beam. The rubber sleeves have great conical rigidity and, due to their transverse spacing, offer a relatively high resistance to transverse vibrations of the off equal carrier at its articulation point on the middle carrier 15. In this way, the middle pair of wheels is guided in the transverse direction, with the wheels 11 and 13 are designed so that they can absorb side loads.
The remote from the middle axle housing ends of the balance beam 17 are made in one piece with a U-beam 19, which supports the adjacent end of the axle housing 14 of the two other wheels 11 and 13 on the same side of the vehicle. The axle housings of the other two wheels are firmly arranged in the carriers 19 and are secured to the latter by retaining screws 20.
The vertical load of the locomotive body is supported on the balancing beam 17 via the rubber spring units 21. These rubber spring units 21 are arranged in such a way that they distribute the vertical load of the locomotive evenly over the three pairs of wheels. For this purpose, each spring unit is arranged in a third of the length of the balancing beam, measured from the free end of the latter.
Each rubber spring unit 21 has two angled rubber springs 22 and 23, which have metal intermediate layers and end plates and are of a known type. The springs 22 and 23 are arranged at a distance from one another in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle and together form a V in a vertical longitudinal plane of the vehicle. As can be seen from Fig. 1, the springs 22, 23 are closer together at their upper end than at their lower end. The tips of the springs are arranged facing in opposite directions, in such a way that each forms a V in a horizontal plane. This is particularly clear from Fig. 2 it is evident.
In the drawn and described embodiment, the tips of the springs look from the voneinan away, the springs together enclose a support 24 which protrudes from the equalizing beam 17 upwards. With respect to this support 24, the springs are inclined upwards, and each lies between a V-shaped surface 25 of the support 24 and a V-shaped surface 26 of an adapter block 27. The block 27 is attached to the undercarriage frame 10 of the locomotive body.
The individual adapter blocks 27 are each against a vertical slide of a frame, which has an inverted U-shape and men from Untergestellrah 10 protrudes downwards. Each block 27 rests against an adjusting screw which, by means of rotation, allows the block to be raised or lowered in order to be able to adjust the height of the locomotive body with respect to the wheel axles.
The rubber spring units 21, as shown in Fig. 1 and 2, are in their ge tensioned position in which the arrangement is made so that the pressure centers of the springs 22, 23 of each spring unit lie in a horizontal plane, which the Contains axle centers so that the whole suspension is stable and has self-balancing axle housings.
The feathers. 22, 23 of each spring unit 21 are inclined at a small angle to the vertical, this angle being <B> 11 '</B> in the example shown. This ensures that the vertical load of the locomotive body mainly stresses the rubber on shear, but also on compression of the rubber. As a result of the V-shape formed by the springs in horizontal planes, as can be seen in FIG. 2, the springs absorb transverse forces which act between the wheels and the locomotive body, the springs being made sufficiently stiff for this purpose.
In the longitudinal direction, the springs are combined both in shear and compression and have a longitudinal stiffness that is large enough to withstand the tensile and braking forces, with relatively small relative movements between the locomotive body and the wheels. The vertical flexibility of the springs 22, 23, which are mainly subjected to shear as mentioned above, is large enough to ensure the suspension of the locomotive, which is necessary to allow only small vertical deflections in the stationary state.
In the above-described Radaufhang supply, it is not necessary to keep the weight of the equal support 17 from minimal, since it is usually necessary in a composite locomotive to keep the weight rather high against a certain Totalge weight. The carrier 17 can therefore be designed as a solid construction.
The rubber bushings 18 allow the equalizing beams to be raised and lowered by twisting the rubber of the sleeves, i.e. H. by torsion. Thus, there is no sliding of metal on metal at these points. The sleeves 18 can, however, also be replaced by full-body trunnions, if so desired. In this case, however, the bearings must be lubricated.
The wheel suspension described is suitable for diesel locomotives which are provided with a cardan shaft or a coupling rod drive. The mean distance between the axes is kept rigid, while the total width of the spring units 21 is small. so that a coupling rod drive can be used with both an inner and an outer frame.
The flangeless center wheels 12 serve to facilitate relatively sharp turns. If desired, these middle wheels can also be provided with flanges, in which case the middle pair of wheels is arranged floating, in that universal joints are provided at the inner ends of the equalizing beams 17 between these beams and the central beams 15. These universal joints can be of any conventional design, but have an expedient inner part-spherical part and an outer base with an intermediate layer of rubber, which allows Universalbe movements through torsional deformation.
The use of supports for the Achsge housing is particularly advantageous with regard to the assembly and maintenance of the suspension. On the other hand, the wheel suspension could also be designed in such a way that the equalizing beams consist of one piece with the axle housing itself or with a part rigidly attached to the latter. In this case, the inner ends of the off are equal carrier directly to the middle axle housing or to joint support blocks which are rigidly attached to the latter.
An embodiment of the last-mentioned type is shown in FIGS. 3 and 4 and will be explained in more detail below. The outer ends of the equal carrier 17 are screwed directly to the axle housing 14, as shown at 28. The inner ends of the equalizing beams, on the other hand, are each articulated to a joint block 29, which is screwed to the middle axle housing 14 at 30. From the same carrier 17 are formed in this case by a ge welded plate structure, while they were formed in the example described above by solid castings. The Federeinhei th 21 are arranged between the side plates 31 of these equalizing beams 17.
The example according to FIGS. 3 and 4 also differs from the example according to FIGS. 1 and 2 by the fact that the spring units 21 are reversed here. Accordingly, in the present case, the middle support 24 is attached to the undercarriage frame 10 of the locomotive body: while the springs 22, 23 of the spring unit are inclined downward from the support against V-shaped surfaces 26 on the adapter blocks 27. The adapter blocks 27 are carried by the equalizing beams 17.
Furthermore, in the present example, the pressure centers of the springs 22, 23 are arranged in the horizontal plane through the axis centers when these springs are under load.
In the present construction, too, the spring units 21 can be held in the same position, as has been described with reference to the example according to FIGS. 1 and 2. This embodiment variant is shown in FIG. 5, in which the support 24 is carried by the equalizing beam 17. In all of the examples described above, the individual NEN springs 22, 23 can be replaced by a couple of resilient rubber blocks, which are arranged in a V-arrangement. In addition, such rubber blocks also act analogously to the angle springs. These rubber blocks are also provided with end plates and intermediate layers as metal, as was described for the springs of the preceding examples.
The present invention is not limited to wheel suspensions for traction vehicles. It can also be used for six-wheel railroad cars. In this case, however, a reduction in the weight of the equalizing beam 17 is necessary. In the case of a six-wheel wagon, it is probably more expedient to use flange wheels for the middle pair of wheels and to mount the balancing beam by means of universal joints in the manner described above.
The wheel suspension according to the invention can also be used for six-wheel chassis of heavy railway wagons, e.g. B. by tankers can be used. In this case, two chassis are usually seen easily, the car body or the sen platform being supported on the chassis frame, which corresponds to the frame 10 of the example described above.
This support is carried out by means of a central pivot for each chassis and by means of side supports, each central pivot being designed and arranged in such a way that it enables the associated chassis to swing about a horizontal transverse axis so that the chassis can also follow vertical curves of the roadway. The term rubber as used herein is intended to include both natural rubber and synthetic rubber and any rubber-like material.
