Fig. 3 einen Schnitt längs der Linie III-III in Fig. 2.
Device for drying and ventilating hay and method of operating the device
The patent relates to a device for drying and ventilating hay in a haystack stacked on an air-permeable storage surface with a channel extending through the bottom of the haystack. As is known, the hay is stacked on a slatted frame that extends over the entire base of the haystack, this slatted frame at the same time forming the upper limit of a pressure space which is pressurized in its entirety or in sections by a fan.
A disadvantage of the known arrangement of this type is that the air noises and mechanical vibrations generated by the fan located in the outer wall of the haystack radiate directly into the open air and thus represent considerable noise pollution for those living in the vicinity. The operation of hay ventilation systems is therefore very undesirable, particularly in tourist areas and during the night.
It has already been proposed to reduce the noises occurring by means of absorption silencers, but such silencers require, depending on the strength of the noise to be attenuated, a corresponding expenditure of space and costs, which is particularly unsustainable for smaller businesses.
Extensive noise attenuation is achieved in the device according to the invention in that the channel runs below a part of the bearing surface and can be connected through openings to a pressure chamber arranged below the bearing surface, otherwise closed off from air, or to individual areas of the same, and in this channel a Fan is arranged, which is at a distance from the two channel end openings. In such an embodiment, the noises generated by the fan are strongly attenuated by the surrounding hay on the way of the sound waves to the outside. The hay thus acts as a silencer, so that, as tests have shown, the noises are no longer disruptive even at a short distance from the end openings of the channel. In the drawing, an embodiment of the device according to the invention is shown.
FIG. 1 shows a longitudinal section through the device according to the invention along the line I-I in FIG.
Fig. 2 shows a section along the line II-II in Fig. 1 and
FIG. 3 shows a section along the line III-III in FIG. 2.
The three figures do not match each other in scale.
In the haystack 1, a channel 2 is arranged on the floor, which extends in a straight line across the haystack 1. Depending on the position of the haystack, it can also be expedient to arrange the channel in a diagonal direction or to run obliquely through the haystack. It is also conceivable to design the channel with end openings on the same haystack side or on sides that meet at an angle. In the middle of the channel 2, which corresponds approximately to the middle of the haystack, a fan 3 is installed. The fan 3 is designed to be pivotable about the pin 4. On both sides of the fan 3, part of the duct 2 between the end openings and the fan is provided with a diffuser 5 for better air guidance.
The channel 2 is designed in the manner of a slatted frame and has, in the vicinity of the end openings 6, 6 a, sound-absorbing fittings 7 made of sound-absorbing material.
The end openings 6, 6 a can be closed by means of louvre flaps 8. In the lower part of the channel 2, as can be seen from Fig. 1, openings 10 are arranged, which can be closed by means of flaps, not shown. Through these openings 10, the fresh air is blown from the channel 2 into the pressure chamber 11 below the slatted frame 12 which forms the storage area for the hay and which is supported on supports 13, 14. The channel 2 runs below part of the slatted frame 12. At the level of the fan impeller 3, an air-impermeable bulkhead 15 is installed, which extends over the entire length of the haystack and divides the pressure space 11 into two sub-spaces.
If there is no bulkhead 15, the hay is ventilated in such a way that those openings 10 that connect it to the pressure chamber 11 in the part of the channel 2 acting as a suction line are closed and the corresponding openings 10 in the other act as a pressure line Part of the channel 2 are open, and so that the parts of the pressure chamber 11 extending on both sides of this part of the channel 2 are put under pressure. By closing the openings 10 on one side of the channel it is possible to subdivide the space containing the hay and to ventilate the partial spaces separately.
A different subdivision of the ventilation is possible in the embodiment shown in that the pressure space 11 is subdivided perpendicular to the channel 2 approximately at the level of the fan 3 by the bulkhead 15.
However, by using these two measures at the same time, it is also possible to ventilate only one or the other quarter of the haystack.
The hay can be placed on one of the two halves of the haystack or on a quarter of the haystack in batches and the other half or the other quarters can be blown at the same time, which means that drying or drying is economical.
Ventilation is particularly favorable.
Thanks to the fact that the two halves of the channel 2 are also completely or partially formed like a slatted frame, the hay has a particularly intense effect as a sound-absorbing material. With such a design of the channel, the above-mentioned bulkhead 15 dividing the pressure space 11 perpendicular to the channel 2 approximately at the level of the fan impeller can serve to avoid pressure losses during blowing.
There are various options for reversing the direction of flow of the fan. It is particularly favorable to design the fan to be pivotable by 180 °. Instead, the electric drive motor of the fan could also be designed to be reversible, or the blades of the fan could be provided with an adjusting device that rotates the blades by 180 in each case. The direction of conveyance is generally reversed by hand; but it is also possible to carry out the reversal by means of an automatic control.
The louvre flaps 8, with which the end openings of the duct can be closed, are expediently designed in such a way that they are pushed over or over by the fan 3 generated. Automatically close or open negative pressure.
