On a donc cherché à éviter cet inconvénient.
Emergency lamp for a vehicle The present invention relates to an emergency lamp for a vehicle.
The driver of a vehicle that breaks down on the way at night or on a dark day has two important problems to solve, that of the lighting to recognize the causes of the failure and repair it as far as possible, and that of signaling to warn in the distance. that a vehicle is stopped on the road and may constitute an obstacle to free movement.
To solve these problems, the holder has already made known a lamp equipped with an electric circuit supplied by a battery of batteries or accumulators which supplies two sources of light, one of white light and the other of red light, the latter possibly flashing; the white light source can be easily separated from the lamp body. It is fitted with a connection of suitable length allowing it to be reached anywhere in the vehicle. To make use easier, the lamp is articulated on a support, which allows it to be oriented easily.
Said support has a handle which may possibly serve as a danger signal and thus supplement the action of the red lamp.
However, experience has shown that at the time of use, the lamp battery can be discharged, thus rendering the lamp completely useless. We therefore sought to avoid this drawback.
The lamp which is the object of the present invention is characterized in that the electrical supply circuit comprises a bypass which ends with an electrical connection device mounted in the wall of the box and accessible from the outside, this device being arranged so as to be connected to a complementary removable connector from which leaves a flexible line terminating in a connection device capable of being coupled to a point of the electrical installation of the vehicle.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the lamp which is the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a perspective view. Fig. 2 is a partial diagram.
The lamp shown comprises a tubular box 1, articulated on a support 2 in the form of a fork and provided with a handle 3 for its transport. This handle may have a general triangular shape and include a reflective coating allowing the emission of a danger signal.
At each of the two ends of the box 1 are connected two light sources 4 and 5; the source 4 comprises a transparent capsule 5a of red color, while the source 5 of white light carries a hook 6 allowing it to be suspended at the desired location, the cable 7 to which it is connected having a length which gives it a radius of extended action.
Inside the box 1 is arranged a battery of cells or accumulators which supplies the circuit, as well as a switch which connects the two sources 5 and 4 at will, or else one of the two separately. An interruption device has also been provided for the source 4, the essential mission of which is to provide light indicating danger, in order to make this light more visible by flashing.
Each source 4 and 5 comprises a lamp 10 comprising two terminals 8 and 9 from which lead wires 11 (FIG. 2) each of which ends at one of two terminals 12 and 13 mounted in the wall of the box 1 and accessible from the outside. From one of the conducting wires 11 is derived a third wire 14 which, through a resistor 15, is connected to a terminal 16, also mounted in the wall of the box 1 and accessible from the outside.
In the aforementioned terminals can be inserted your plugs 17 located at the end of a cable 18 with two conductors of the desired length which ends in two clamps 19 for its connection to a suitable point of the electrical circuit of the 'automobile. The presence of terminal 16 and resistor 15 allows the plugs to be inserted either directly into terminals 12 and 13, in the event that the voltage of the automobile's electrical circuit corresponds to the voltage of the light sources 4 and 5, or in terminals 12 and 16, when the voltage of this circuit is higher.
The lamp can be used anytime, even in the event that the lamp battery is discharged. In this case, it will suffice to connect the cable 18 to terminals 12 and 13 or 12 and 16, while the clamps 19 must be connected to the appropriate place of the automobile circuit which will directly supply the light sources 4 and 5.
