B. Ammonium-Karbonat, Natriumphosphat, Tannin, Keratin u. a.
B. Schlackenwolle in Betracht, an Kunst stoff-Faser z. B. Perlon.
The invention relates to a method for the production of structures from materials that tend to cling to felt-like Ver, such. B. fibers of all kinds, and mineral binders containing calcium sulfate.
There are methods for the production of Baukör pern such. B. plates, made of fiber and hydrau lic binders such as cement are known in which continuously an aqueous slurry of fiber materials and cement is made, distributed, shaped and pressed, on a move on the endless absorbent pad. The excess water is removed from the fiber cement mass by suction. It is also known to compress the fiber cement fleece that is being formed by means of a rotating roller which, if necessary, is moved to and fro in the plane of the fleece.
It is also known that the endless sub-layer as a water-permeable belt, for. B. as Baum.- wollband, but also as a metallic screen belt trainees and to arrange vacuum suction heads under this belt. It is also known to clean the belt by tapping and by spraying it with water and to allow the squeezed out and other excess water to run back into a mixer for the production of further food porridges.
With non-hydraulic binders, e.g. B. plaster, could not work in this way so far. Up to now, plaster of paris structures have mostly been manufactured in molds. There are z. B. Wall panels made of plaster ge standardized. Next one knows plasterboards, plasterboards and wall cladding panels, which are made of plaster with ge suitable aggregates and fillers and differ from the wall panels mainly in their dimensions. Show panels, filler panels, heating panels and similar structures made from high quality plaster are also known.
Finally, there are also plasterboard, which are known in Germany under the name Rigips panels .
In the known production of gypsum structures in molds, the gypsum paste is poured into the wooden or metal molds in a more or less liquid state. After the mass has hardened, the mold is removed and the resulting plaster structure is dried naturally or artificially. It is also already known to use mechanical aids in the manufacture of plaster of paris structures in forms.
In the known production of Gipsbaukör pern in molds one used plaster of paris. The addition of water had to be kept as low as possible in order to achieve sufficient strength, because less resistant crystals and larger pores are formed with a greater excess of water. The strength is then not sufficient for the demands that occur especially when transporting the Gipsbaukör by. The ratio of water weight to gypsum weight was around 0.75 in usable mixtures. Even with such a ratio, the paste already contains 3 to 4 times that of The theoretically necessary amount of water to bind as crystalline water to bind the gypsum.
Such gypsum paste has already been processed into gypsum cardboard on roller lines. The gypsum paste is poured into the high-quality cardboard, which is formed into a flat hollow. The cardboard used as a mold remains firmly attached to the plaster core and gives it its elasticity. There was no other possibility for mass production of thin elastic structures using plaster of paris.
The method according to the invention is characterized in that from the substances that tend to cling and the mineral binders containing calcium sulfate. a slurry is produced with a large excess of water, the slurry is preformed into a fleece and the excess water is removed before the binding process begins.
In one embodiment of the method according to the invention, solid mineral binders which contain at least 10% calcium sulfate are used in ground form.
One possible embodiment is to use calcium sulfate-containing air as the mineral binder, e.g. B. gypsum to use, another is to use a hydraulic calcium sulfate-containing binder, namely gypsum slag cement, in addition to calcium sulfate-containing air binders.
One of the difficulties with which the continuous production of gypsum fiber boards in continuous processes has failed so far is that the excess water contains hardened gypsum parts that act as crystallization nuclei, which do not allow this water to be reused because these germs prevent the setting of Gypsum paste, to which they are added with this water, greatly accelerate.
Hemihydrate is more soluble in water than dihydrate. The setting of the plaster is based on this. The hemihydrate changes into the dihydrate in a dissolved state, of which only a smaller part can remain dissolved than was previously dissolved as hemihydrate, so that the excess must fall out in a solid state. Since water is available again to dissolve hemihydrate, the process can continue.
One of the sub-tasks on which the further development of the invention was based was to control the acceleration of the setting of the plaster by germ-containing water.
According to the above, one possible way of doing this was to reduce the solubility of the hemihydrate and a second way to reduce the speed of the hemihydrate. Various substances that can form precipitates with plaster of paris reduce the solubility and speed of solution of the hemihydrate, so that the setting process can be delayed by adding such substances. Such substances are e.g. B. ammonium carbonate, sodium phosphate, tannin, keratin and. a.
The effect of these substances may be due to the fact that they cover the individual granules of plaster with a skin of the skin; the denser and more impermeable this skin is, the more the speed of solution will be reduced. Keratin has proven to be particularly effective. The solubility of the hemihydrate in water drops from 0.885 g / 100 cm3 to 0.678 g / 100 cm3 when 2% keratin is added, and the rate of dissolution is reduced so much that the setting process is extended from 32 minutes to 48 days.
The further development of the invention is also based on the knowledge that the setting accelerating effect of the gypsum germs in the water when using retarders increases only up to reaching a maximum value, so that a state of equilibrium occurs after which an increase in set gypsum parts in the water occurs the setting of the plaster of paris no longer accelerates.
The amounts of gypsum going into solution are normally very large. They amount to about 15% of the gypsum requirement, which, if the separated water remains unused, means a considerable loss of material and also causes operational disruptions by crystallizing out at unsuitable places. If, on the other hand, the separated water is reused, the crystals of the set gypsum that precipitate out of it accelerate the setting of the raw material in increasing amounts so that after some time it can no longer be processed and loses its binding power.
It has now been found that by adding keratin-containing substances in the amounts mentioned below in liquid or soluble form to the mixing water, the solubility of the gypsum is reduced so much that the amount of gypsum that goes into solution and when the water is reused from crystallizing gypsum is very small . This results in an equilibrium between the accelerating effect of the crystallizing plaster of paris and the delaying the effect of the keratin components, which enables the setting of a suitable stiffening time that remains the same in continuous operation.
For example, the calcium sulphate-containing binders, preferably gypsum, are therefore mixed with an addition of delaying agents to be added to the mixing water, e.g. B. Keratin products, used in an amount of 0.1% to 1% of the binder weight. The high solubility of calcium sulfate, which opposed its use for the purpose of the invention up to now, can be reduced by adding a retarder, e.g.
B. of keratin products in amounts of 0.1 to 1.0%, based on the amount of gypsum to be added, sufficiently reduce. This also results in a stiffening time that is favorable for the manufacture of the building structure. Thereafter, the retarder additive has the double task of reducing the solubility of the individual gypsum grains by forming a membrane and ensuring a suitable stiffening time. The effect is best achieved when the retarder is dissolved in the mixing water before it comes into contact with the plaster of paris.
Vegetable, animal, mineral and artificial fibrous materials of all kinds, as well as mixtures of different types of fibrous materials, come into consideration as materials with a tendency to felt-like clinging. As vegetable fibers are z. B. cotton, peat, sisal, jute suitable; but preferably waste fibers from spinning or weaving should be used. Animal fibers are suitable for. B. wool or animal hair, leather waste is used as preference. As mineral fiber z. B. slag wool into consideration, on plastic fiber z. B. Perlon.
To felt-like Verklamme tion tend not only fibers, but also other sharp-edged or beard-like edges aufwei send or twisted particles, as they arise in the crushing of water-insoluble solids such. B. waste generated during machining, such as plastic turnings, metal filings or particles, such as those obtained by comminuting products that are themselves made of fibers or contain fibers; it can e.g. B. the softened parts of shredded used paper bags can be used. Wood fibers, including mixtures with wood wool and wood chips, are also suitable.
The excess water is expediently removed not only by allowing it to run off from the support set up for this purpose, but also in a manner known per se by pressing, preferably by means of rollers.
It is advisable to use 8 to 16 times the amount of water by weight of the binder. The best effects are achieved when 10 to 12 times the amount by weight is used. The setting speed is expediently set so that the setting in the sense of a noticeable stiffening after more than 10 to 500, z. B. begins after 120 to 300 minutes, preferably after 120 to 180 minutes.
The binder can be replaced by clay in an amount up to a third of the binder weight.
The advantages of the process according to the invention are as follows. According to the new process, all types of plat can be produced, as well as pipes, plates such. B. for the production of light partition walls, but also for cladding solid walls and ceilings and those that are used as dry plaster s> instead of plaster, as well as sound-absorbing panels. An essential advantage is that the method according to the invention can be carried out continuously.
With the squeezed out water, almost no binding agent is lost because the water is used again and again. Preferably, the inventive method works compared to the known method for producing plasterboards in molds without waste.
Since all kinds of fibers can be used for plaster of paris binding without pre-mineralization, the use of fiber and waste materials that are unusable for the production of panels with cement is also possible. Since the measures according to the invention eliminate the risk of premature setting, it is possible to manage with simple mixing and conveying means that are easy to keep clean. The use of an excess of water to the extent according to the invention gives the slurry a texture that facilitates its preparation and further conveyance.
For all these reasons, the method according to the invention enables the inexpensive mass production of high-quality plaster of paris structures, especially panels. The fact that the water content before the start of setting is much higher than the water content previously customary when using plaster is reduced to less than the previously customary content before the final shaping of the building, the products are particularly hard and firm. In addition to reducing the water content, pressing also mechanically contributes to compaction, e.g. B. by pressing out air and gas inclusions. Because of the low water content, the produced blank can also be dried quickly.
Gypsum boards produced by the method according to the invention are ready for dispatch after drying for a few hours, while cement boards have to set for about 28 days before dispatch.
The gypsum structures produced by the method according to the invention are almost unbreakable in contrast to the plasterboards produced in molds in a previously known manner. They have high mechanical strength; In an exemplary embodiment, there was a flexural strength of 104 kg / cm 'parallel to the direction of manufacture and 117 kg / cm2 transversely to the direction of manufacture, and also a ball indentation hardness of 130 kg / cm2. Because of their greater strength, the structures produced by the method according to the invention can also be used as resilient structures.
In the form of a plate, they are so hard that they can be hung freely over a large area.
The advantages inherent in the previously known gypsum structures are retained, such as the low thermal conductivity and thus great thermal insulation, the incombustibility, their better resistance to the effects of fire as a result of the release of water vapor, and the independence of the production from the import of foreign raw materials fabrics. Compared to cement boards, gypsum fiber boards have a lower risk of condensation in interior rooms because of their lower specific heat.
The adhesion for gypsum, wall or ceiling plaster is better with gypsum fiber boards than with cement-bound or gypsum cardboard panels. The fiber plasterboard is more elastic than a cement-bonded board. The products made according to the invention have no brittle plaster of paris layers between the fibers or the faserähn union components, but the felt-like mitein other interlocked components are elastically connected to one another by the finest gypsum crystals, over the entire plate thickness.
The plasterboards produced according to the invention do not shrink in contrast to cement boards; they grow so little that no difficulties arise from them. After all, they are much more versatile in interior construction than cement fiber panels.
That embodiment of the method according to the invention, which provides the use of a hydraulic sulphatic binder, namely gypsum slag cement (sulphate slag cement) in addition to air binders such as gypsum, has the particular advantage of combining the advantages of the air binder and the hydraulic binder with one another and the possibility of offer to vary the properties of the product by changing the binder mixture.
The binders, the water and the substances that tend to clump like felt, as well as any fillers, can be mixed in any order. Thus, the binders can first be mixed with one another and the binder mixture can then be mixed with the fiber or fiber-like substances, and this mixture can be stirred into water which contains the amount of retarder determined to be suitable.
However, fiber and filler can also first be mixed with the retarder-containing water and then the binder or binder mixture can be added to the mixture, or the fiber material can be added to the binder mixture mixed with retarder-containing water, and finally all substances to be mixed can be added to a mixing container can be added and mixed at the same time, only the necessary amount of retarder has to be added to the water beforehand.
A system for carrying out the method according to the invention comprises a mixer, a metering device, a porous conveyor belt, one or more suction devices acting on the belt, a winding drum for the fleece formed on the belt, at least one pressing device, e.g.
B. a pair of rollers in the way it is used in cardboard machines or consisting of a table and a roller pressing against this, possibly a second pressing device, which is preferably designed as a re-rolling device, and possibly a stacking and drying device. The system is designed in such a way that all draining and pressed water is fed back into the mixing device until an operating period has ended.
In an exemplary embodiment of the process, the nonwoven fabric produced is subjected to a special surface treatment before the start of setting, e.g. B. provided layers with special surfaces. The surface treatment can consist of soaking with paint or other application of paint layers. However, special surface layers can also be applied to the fleece in the form of sheet-like substances. The sheet-like materials can be printed and not only plastic foils, but also metal foils or foils.
The fleece surface can also be covered only partially or in different patterns with the like substances, which then form deposits in the surface. Finally, other liquid or semi-liquid substances can be applied to a fleece as colors.
If the system has two press stations, e.g. B. two at a distance from each other rollers chairs, can be a surface treatment treatment of the nonwoven produced advantageously perform rich in the loading between the two press points.
Even in the first press station that works with rollers, the continuous fleece can be profiled in any desired way. Profiling can also take place at the second rolling point or be continued. A second rolling point also has the advantage that the strength of the product is increased and final drying is facilitated by even better pressing out of the water and by additional compression of the fleece passing through.
The surface treatment can also be a fine profile: the surfaces can be rolled smooth or patterned.
It can be useful to use more than one mixing vessel in one and the same system so that one can be cleaned while the other one continues to operate.
The use of a winding drum, as it is known from the production of asbestos-cement boards and cardboard machines, makes the scope that is available for the wall thickness of the products is particularly large. Even the fleece on the conveyor belt, which allows the excess water to be carried away, can be produced in very different thicknesses without the uniformity of its properties over the cross-section being damaged. The known winding of the fleece on the winding drum allows this strength to be multiplied as required.
The drum is expediently equipped with a brush that works its circumference and is used to continuously clean the part of the drum that remains free from the fleece or the drum circumference that has become free after the fleece has been removed.
This ensures that the surface of the subsequently produced plate remains smooth, while otherwise a binding agent film that is increasingly adhering to the drum shell would result in unclean plate surfaces. This approach can also be prevented by the fact that the jacket of the winding drum is treated with powder to be powdered or with agents to be applied in liquid form, eg. B. with silicone oils. The aforementioned Bür ste can also be used as an application device, if necessary with the additional use of spray nozzles.
You can also have a permanent coating made of synthetic resin, z. B. polyvinyl chloride, firmly apply, preferably shrink, which also lines a groove extending across the drum shell. This ensures that the surface of the gypsum fiber board removed from the drum is always as smooth as the surface of the synthetic resin coating, which for its part can easily be kept clean and undamaged. However, should the surface of the synthetic resin coating be damaged, the coating can be replaced easily and without great expense.
Instead of using a permanent coating on the winding drum, the production of smooth plate surfaces can also be ensured by providing the jacket of the winding drum with an easily removable, possibly only one-time, cover made of sheet material such as tissue paper or synthetic resin film before each application of a fleece.
The drawing shows in Fig. 1 in a schematic representation an embodiment of a suitable system for implementing the method described.
2 is a longitudinal section through the winding drum, FIG. 3 is a corresponding end view, and FIG. 4 shows a detail of the winding drum on a larger scale.
A mixing tub 1 is fed through a funnel 2 in the direction of arrow 3 pulp and through a funnel 4 in the direction of arrow 5 binding medium. A pump 6 is connected to the mixing tub and delivers a powerful water jet into the mixing tub via the nozzle 6 '. The energy inherent in the water jet ensures that the water is intimately mixed with the fibers and the binders, so that a slurry containing a lot of excess water is formed in which the solid particles are evenly distributed in the excess water, so that the mixture components together form a Form thin, easy-to-handle slurry. The pump 6 sucks in the water from a storage container 7 via a line 8.
A stirrer 29 and a stripping roller 9 are located in the mixing tub 1.
The endless belt 11 is passed through the tub 1 with which the stripping roller 9 cooperates. The entry gap for the tape is provided with sealing lips.
The aqueous slurry 10 produced in the mixing tub 1 is sucked onto its surface by a suction head 17 over which the endless belt 11 runs. The suction head 17 connects to the underside of the belt 11 with sealing lips. The belt 11 runs over the rollers 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 16 'and is driven in the direction of the arrow 11'. It consists of water-permeable fabric. A suction head 17 'is arranged under that section of the belt 11 which is loaded with the poured-on fibrous material binder slurry 10, which adjoins the belt with sealing lips 18, 19.
A negative pressure is generated in the suction heads 17 and 17 'by means of an air pump 20 which is connected to the suction head by a line 21. The water sucked out of the pulp on the belt is fed directly from the suction heads 17 and 17 'via lines 22 and 22' as well as the collecting line 23 to the storage container 7 or the suction line of the pump 6.
From the ent watered pulp a fleece 10 'forms on the belt 11, which is pressed onto a winding drum, the format roller 30, by means of a counter-pressure roller 31 via the deflection roller 13 and is wound onto the drum or format roller 30 several times over one another. The drum 30 consists of a cylindrical shell 56 (Fig. 2), which is attached to the end faces by in it, for. B. welded circular disks 57, 50 is closed. In these discs La like hub 51, 52 are attached centrally, for. B. also welded in.
At one point on the circumference, the jacket 56 has a groove 53 running parallel to the cylinder axis. At this point the jacket is reinforced on its inside by a strip 54. On the jacket 56 sits a coating 55 made of synthetic resin, which is conveniently attached by shrinking on the jacket and also the groove 53 clothes.
The tape 11 is cleaned of adhering mixture residues by means of a knocker 25 running in the direction of arrow 24 and then sprayed from spray nozzles 26, 27 with pressurized water fed through line 28, so that it cleans ge in the mixing tub 1, where it continues it is loaded again with a pulp-binder suspension.
The wound on the drum 30 fleece is, when the winding has the desired strength, slit in a known manner by means of a cutting knife engaging in the groove 53 (FIG. 4) and removed from the drum. It then arrives as a flexible plate 10 "on a conveyor belt 49. The flexible plate or the further conveyed fleece finally get between the rollers 33, 34, which are pressed against each other in the direction of the arrows 35, 36 and which are still contained in the fleece or the flexible plate Squeeze over shot water.
Following the pressing point formed by the rollers 33, 34, a second pressing point is seen in the example shown, which consists of the table 37 and the roller 38 pressed against the table in the direction of the arrow 39. Instead, the second press point could also be designed as a roller frame containing two rollers, or conversely, the first press point could also consist of a table and a counter-pressure roller. Finally, only one pressing point could be arranged.
Both the rollers 33, 34 and the roller 38 can be profiled rollers which give the continuous fleece or sheet blank a longitudinal profile which later facilitates the drying of a stack. As he mentioned above, the plates can also be given patterned surfaces by means of the rollers, and the plate surface can be made in another way, e.g. B. by applying special Oberflä chenschichten be treated in addition.
A cutting device, which is indicated by the arrows 40, 41, adjoins the second pressing point. It is used when the fleece is continuously cut to size or when the panels to be produced are to be smaller than the circumference of the drum 130 the stack closes after flexible bellows 44, 45, z.
B. made of rubber or rubber substitutes that connect the stack cross-section with a drying space 46. If the plates are profiled so that they form spaces in between in the stack or if they are stacked with the interposition of strips, a possibly heated air stream can be sucked or blown through the stack to accelerate drying. In the drying tunnel 46, a carriage 47 is arranged, which can be driven under the stack 42 in such a way that it can be moved away from the table 43 that is then lowered.
Line 48 in the drawing indicates that all of the water flowing out of the system, be it via the collecting tank 7, or be it directly returned to the suction line 8 of the pump 6. Example 1 10 to 25% fibrous materials, e.g. B. softened, divided, used paper sacks are floated with 90 to 75% plaster of paris and ten times the amount of plaster by weight in water, with enough keratin added to the water as a retarder that the excess water is removed after about two hours sets.
Example 2 As example 1, but with the replacement of a third of the weight of the stucco plaster with clay. Example 3 The method according to Example 1 is modified so that 15% fiber weight and 85% calcium sulfate dihydrate weight are selected; when selecting fibers of a suitable specific weight, a plate with a density of 1 can be obtained.
With a gypsum fiber suspension produced according to the invention, pipes can also be produced by otherwise known methods which have the same advantageous properties as were described for the panels produced according to the invention.
The method according to the invention does not exclude the possibility of using other known additives to the non-hydraulic and hydraulic binders described. For example, hardening agents known per se or, conversely, additives which make porosity can be added to the pulp, the latter e.g. B. when sound-absorbing plates are to be generated. A suitable additive for this case is kieselguhr. Other additives can improve the surface texture, z. B. to increase the surface smoothness. Finally, the chemical resistance of the body produced can be improved by known additives, such as:
B. by adding barium hydroxide, the resistance to water and thus the weather resistance.
