The object of the present invention is a magazine record player comprising, respectively mounted on two parallel decks, apart from a series of discs arranged in a row. circle so to form a torus whose axis of revolution is perpendicular to the plates, on the other hand a pick-up and drive means of the discs arranged in the middle of these, moreover a motor of the tines to driving one of the plates in rotation around the axis of the torus, a selector device and a searcher device intended to stop the rotary stage in,
the angular position for which the pick-up is in. side of the chosen record, record player further comprising two mechanisms intended to simultaneously cause, after stopping the rotating turntable, on the one hand the tilting of the selected record in its plane, towards the axis of the torus, against said means & drive and on the other hand the nùse in place of the pick-up and, after hearing this disc, its return and that of the pick-up in their respective initial positions.
This store record player is characterized by the fact that the discs are placed in individual compartments and perform their trans lation movements under the action of a device mounted on the pick-up plate and acting exclusively in the plane and on the edge of the discs.
The drawing represents, by by way of example, two embodiments of the object of the invention.
In order not to overload this drawing unnecessarily, only the parts of these record players have been shown in relation to the invention. For their general operation, reference will be made to the main patent which describes an apparatus of the same type as the previous executions forms. Moreover, to facilitate the comparison, the same reference signs were taken for the organs which are found in both cases.
Fig. 1 is a view, in partial and schematic elevation of the first embodiment, FIG. 2 is a corresponding plan view.
Fig. 3 is a view similar to to FIG. 1 of the second form & execution ; fig. 4 and 5 are detail views.
The record player shown in fig. 1 and 2 is constituted by a fixed horizontal plate 12 ' by a horizontal plate 13 capable of rotating around a vertical axis 144, by disks 15 mounted on plate 12 so as to form a torus concentric to the axis 144, by a device # X drive the disk attached on the plate 13, by selector means, and by automatic means bringing the disc, chosen in hearing position, by a movement of rotation of < / B> the turntable 13 and by a translation of this disc in its plane, then, after audition, bringing the disc played back in reverse to its initial position.
The parts of the record player which are not shown are the pick-up and the drive motor, the selector device and the means for bringing the turntable 13 into the angular position corresponding to the record to play. These different parts may be the same as the corresponding ones of the record player described in the main patent. They are foreign to the present invention.
The essential differences between the latter device and the record player shown in fig. 1 and 2 lies in the way the disks are supported, at rest, in the transport device which brings them into their position & hearing and returns them to their rest position, and in the record player drive device. In the record player shown in fig. 1 and 2, the discs 15 are arranged in a wire magazine mounted on radial metal brackets 201 fixed to the plate 12 by the intermediary of a crown 202 integral with the latter.
This store is formed by an outer circle 203 welded to fastening tabs 204 riveted to the consoles 201, by an inner circle 205, by bent rods 206, welded at their ends to circles 203 and 205, and by circular spacers 207. </ B> The rods 206 define individual compartments for the discs 15 which rest vertically, by their edge, on the circles 203 and 205, at two points A and B. These rods are embossed in C in such a way to maintain the discs sensitive to the middle of their respective lockers.
The device for transporting the discs from the magazine to the hearing position comprises a rocker 208 mounted on the turntable 13 by means of two brackets 209. </ B> This rocker has two arms 210 and 211 folded at their free end, normally arranged in the position they occupy in in FIG. 1.
The movements of this rocker are controlled by a pull tab 64 (found in the main patent) which has an opening 213 in which is engaged a stud 214 of the rocker 208. When the latter rotates in the direction of the arrow che Fi, the arm 210 comes into contact with the edge of the disc to transport, lifts it and forces it to turn around point A and a stopper 215 until 'so that it is stopped by a second stop 216 in a position (indicated in phantom in fig. 1) where it is taken over by the turntable drive.
This device, which is controlled by a second pull tab 92 (which can be found in the main patent), comprises (fig. 2) a first plate 217 formed by a head 218 having an annular groove corresponding to the central opening of the discs and by an axis 219 rotatably mounted in a bearing 220, and by a second plate 221 formed by a truncated conical head 222 conjugated to the annular groove of the first plate, and by an axis 223 rotatably mounted in a bearing 224. The two bearings 220 and 224 are supported in a manner not shown by the plate 13.
The plate 2.17 is axially fixed, while the plate 221 tends to slide in its bearing towards the head 218 under the action of 'a spring 225. This last plate is secured, by means of a lug 226, engaged in a groove of the head 222 , to an arm 227 of a vertical shaft 228 pivoting in two bearings 229 and 230 < / B> integral with the 13. plate
This tree 228 has at its base a second arm 231 fitted with a roller 232 which rolls on a ramp 233 a sliding bar 234 linked to the zipper 92 by an ankle 235.
The drive of the disc is provided by the plate 217 which is connected in a manner not shown (for example by a belt) to the motor of the record player.
The axis of the 217 and 221 plates is located slightly above of the axis of the disc when the latter is supported on the stops 215 </ B > and 216.
The drive device takes over the disc as follows: when the disc rests on the stops 215 and 216, the bar 234 is driven from right to left by the zipper 92 and rotates the shaft 228 clockwise of a watch, this which causes an axial movement of the plate 221 towards the plate 217. During this movement, the head 222 enters the central opening of the disc, lift the disc, which leaves its points of support and apply it by centering it against the head 218.
The 217 plate is then driven in rotation and the pick-up positioned for reading the engraving. The return of the disc, after audition, is carried out by a series of reverse operations, always jammed by the drawbars 64 and 92 as follows: the head 222 moves away from the plate 217, which allows the disc to descend slightly under the action of its own weight to regain support, by its edge, on the stops 215 and 216, then the rocker 208 returns to its initial position by causing by its arm 211 this time the pivoting of the disc around the point A and its return to its locker .
The movements of the drawbars 64 and 92 are controlled, as in the turntable described in the main patent, by a single cam 50 so that the movements of the rocker 208 and tray 221 to transport the selected disc from the magazine to the audition position and to bring it back after audition to the magazine are carried out in a coordinated and synchronized manner. The operation of this cam described in detail in this patent will not be repeated.
The second embodiment constitutes a variant of the first in which on the one hand the to disc magazine has a structure which is somewhat different from the previous one and on the other hand the movements of the rocker. 208 and the turntable drive device are controlled by the same lever 64.
In this record player, the 208 rocker and the drive device are mounted on a wedge-shaped frame formed by two flanges 244. In addition, to ensure correct retention of the record during transport. , the 208 rocker has at the ends of its two arms 210 and 211 two V-shaped tabs 241 and 242.
The pull tab 64 carries a rack 236 engaged with a toothed sector of the rocker 208 and a cam 237 on the surface 238 which (fig . 5) rolls a roller 239 mounted at the lower end of a control lever 240 of the device training. This comprises two trays for driving 217 and 221, similar to those of the first embodiment described mounted on the flanges 244. Here, however, the plate 221 is axially fixed, while the plate 217 is subjected to the action of the res sort 225.
The upper end of the lever 240 passes through the bearing 245 of the plate 217 and engages in a circular groove of the shaft 246 of this plate.
In this form of execution, the succession of the various operations necessary to transport the disc to its listening position and to play it takes place as follows - Drawbar 64, which moves from right to left to perform these movements, begins by rotating the rocker 208 which rolls the disc to the position shown in phantom in fig. 3 where it rests on the stops 215 and 216, then the lever 240 pivots in the direction of the arrow F, which allows the spring 225 to move the chainring 217 towards the chainring 221 ; the disc is lifted and centered, then driven in rotation, while the pick- up is set up.
After the hearing, the drawbar 64 moves from left to right by controlling the operations inver ses so to bring the disc back to its rack .
In this second embodiment, the control member of the pull tab 64 has not been shown, which could be constituted by a similar cam to the cam 50 of the first embodiment.
The two embodiments described have, besides being of an extremely simple construction, the advantage of allowing a quick and easy replacement of the discs contained in the magazine.
As a variant, one could imagine a device for transporting the discs immediately centering them. It would then have to provide means for retracting the transport arms during the hearing, in order to avoid any friction against the discs. .
Likewise, the drive disc platters may be lifted slightly after centering the disc.
It will also be noted that the store may advantageously be made of compressed or molded plastic.
