Microscope The object of the present invention is a micro scope, characterized in that it comprises a base, the upper part of which, forming the support of a stage-holder to be examined, is provided on one of its sides with a horizontal axis intended to serve as an articulation at one end of a support for the optical device of the microscope, the other end of the latter support being provided with a transmission part,
capable of moving in translation along vertical slides by means of a micrometric control, the whole being arranged so that, by rotating by means of the micrometric control, the support of the optical device around its axis of articulation, the focus of said device is adjusted.
The accompanying drawing shows an embodiment and a variant of the microscope which is the subject of the invention, given by way of example.
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the micro scope.
Fig. 2 is a vertical section of the control device for the micrometric adjustment screw.
Fig. 3 is a sectional side view thereof.
Fig. 4 is a sectional plan, taken along the line IV-IV of FIG. 3.
Fig. 5 is an elevational view of the specimen stage in a variant of the microscope.
The microscope, in the embodiment shown in Figs. 1 to 4, comprises a base B, the upper part of which comprises a plate P, intended to receive an object to be examined under the microscope. One of the sides of the upper part of the base B is provided with a horizontal hinge O, on which a support S is articulated, intended for fixing the optical device of the microscope.
On the side opposite to that of the hinge O, the support S is provided with an appendage A, capable of receiving, by means of a control, a rotational movement around said hinge.
This order comprises a tubular column 1, for example of circular section, fixed in a vertical position on the base B by means of a threaded stud 2, integral with the bottom 1 'of the column 1, and by a nut 3. Inside the column 1 is housed a transmission part T, having the shape of a piston, said part being able to move inside the column which serves as a guide. On the wall. of column 1 is fixed a horizontal axis 4 on which is articulated a pin 5, fixed in the appendix A of the support S.
The transmission part T, in the form of a solid cylinder, has at its upper part 6 (fig. 2) a diametrical notch, forming a yoke in the branches of which is housed the flat part 5 'of the oscillating spindle 5. The piston T also has lateral notches 7, 7 '(fig. 3 and 4) in which the coil springs 8, 8' are housed respectively, said springs being intended to urge the piston downwards.
One of the ends of each of the springs 8, 8 'is held by a screw 9, 9' respectively, fixed in the piston T, the other end of said springs being retained by a transverse rod 10, fixed in recesses made in the wall of column 1.
The lower face 11 (FIG. 2) of the piston T presents an inclined plane, with a slight slope, intended to serve as a sliding path for the upper part of a slide 12, in the general shape of a nut, said slide. being intended to move in horizontal translation on a micrometric screw 13, horizontal, each of the ends of which is provided with an operating button 14, 14 'respectively.
To prevent the nut from turning, the lower, fork-shaped part of the slider 12 is guided by a transverse rod 15, each end of which is fixed in the wall of the column 1. The upper part of the slider 12, on which rests the piston T, has a profile in the form of a segment of a circle, coaxial with the screw 13, as shown in FIG. 3.
The adjustment of the micrometric control of the described microscope is carried out as follows: by rotating one of the buttons 14, 14 'of the screw 13 in either direction, the piston T moves vertically, upwards or downwards respectively, the articulation 4, as well as the support S of the optical device, having the effect of causing said support to oscillate around the hinge O.
As the slope of the face 11 of the piston T is very low with respect to the horizontal plane, the multiplying action of said slope is added to that of the micrometric screw 13, so that the focusing operation of the optical device of the microscope by the buttons 14, 14 'is very regular and very soft.
As the preparations to be examined, or rather their supports, vary in thickness and that the development of the optical device could require a displacement of the piston T exceeding the two ends of its lower face 11 in slope, because of the small difference in level of said slope, there is provided, in a variant of the embodiment described, a means for moving in height over a short length of the specimen stage relative to the base of the microscope. For this purpose, the plate P (fig. 5) is for view,
in its lower part, a thread intended to penetrate into the tapping of a support B 'formed at the upper part of the base B. By rotating the plate P in the support B', the object is brought to be examined at the desired level, the slide 12 being placed in a central position. The focusing of the optical device is then carried out by means of the micrometric screw 13.
The microscope described is made of a rigid material, for example metal, plastic or the like.
