with 1 mole of an azo component coupling in the ortho position to a phenolic or enolic hydroxyl group or to a primary or secondary amino group.
The dyes obtained in this way can be treated in substance with a metal donating agent, preferably in such a way that metal-containing azo dyes are formed which essentially contain one metal atom bound to two molecules of a disazo compound in a complex manner.
If, in the metallization, instead of a single disazo dye of the formula (I), a mixture of two or more such disazo dyes or of one, two or more such disazo dyes and one, two or more metallizable mono- or disazo dyes are obtained, mixed metal complex dyes are obtained, their coloring Properties can be adapted to any desired use.
Of the substituents which the nucleus A can carry are, for. B. to name: methyl, ethyl, tert. Butyl, methoxy, ethoxy, formylamino, acetylamino, propionylamino, benzoylamino, carboxy, carbomethoxyamino and carbethoxyamino groups, while the aryl radical can have the following substituents: halogen atoms (chlorine, bromine), nitro, acetylamino , Propionylamino, benzoylamino, carboxy, carbomethoxyamino, carbethoxyamino, methyl, ethyl, tert.

Coupling, metallization and isolation of the disazo dyes or their metal complex compounds can be carried out in the same way as was described in Patent No. 353107 for the production and isolation of monoazo dyes and their metal complex compounds.
The metal-containing azo dyes obtained are metal complex compounds in which essentially one atom of metal is bonded to two molecules of azo compounds. The metal complex compounds are so-called 1: 2 complexes, in which one molecule of azo compound is linked to about 0.3-0.7 atoms of metal.
The new disazo dyes dye wool, silk, leather and synthetic polyamide fibers in red, yellow, green, blue, violet, gray or brown shades with good wash, milled and lightfastness using the post-chrome plating or single-bath chrome plating process.
The metal-containing azo dyes dye wool, silk, leather and synthetic polyamide fibers from a neutral or weakly acidic dyebath in red, yellow, green, blue, violet, gray or brown shades of good fastness to light, washing, milled, perspiration and rubbing. In addition, the dyeings with the chromium complex compounds have good acid fastness. If their solubility in organic solvents is sufficiently high, they are also suitable for dyeing masses intended for spinning and dissolved in organic solvents, and varnishes and plastics of all kinds. The colorations obtained are light, wash, sweat and smoke dye-fast.
In the examples below, the parts are parts by weight, the percentages are percentages by weight, and the temperatures are given in degrees Celsius.
example 1
29.2 parts of 3-amino-4-hydroxy-1,1'-azobenzene-3'sulphonic acid amide are dissolved with 10 parts of sodium hydroxide in 300 parts of water. After adding 6.9 parts of sodium nitrite, the orange-brown solution is admixed with 50 parts of 300% hydrochloric acid while cooling with ice. The diazo body which has precipitated out with a brown color is isolated and introduced into a solution of 26.2 parts of 1-dimethylaminosulfonylamino-7-hydroxynaphthalene, 5 parts of sodium hydroxide and 15 parts of sodium carbonate in 400 parts of water. As soon as the formation of the disazo dye has ended after stirring for several hours with ice cooling, this is precipitated by adding sodium chloride, filtered off with suction, washed with sodium chloride solution and dried.
It is a dark powder that dyes wool in olive-gray tones using the single-bath chrome plating process.
To convert into the chromium complex compound, 11.4 parts of the above disazo dye together with 5.5 parts of crystallized potassium chromisulfate in 60 parts of formamide are heated to 95 for 6 hours, after which no more metal-free dye can be detected in the reaction mass. The chromium-containing dye is precipitated by dilution with 250 parts of water and then isolated. It is purified by dissolving it with 6 parts of sodium hydroxide in 200 parts of water and then precipitating it with sodium chloride. After isolating, drying and grinding, it is a dark powder that dyes wool, silk, leather and synthetic polyamide fibers in olive-gray shades of excellent fullness, washing and lightfastness.
Color specification
2 parts of the chromium-containing azo dye obtained in this way are dissolved in 4000 parts of water at 40-50 ". 100 parts of pre-wetted wool are added to this solution and 2 parts of 100% acetic acid are added dropwise, whereupon the dyebath is heated to boiling within 30 minutes and it is kept at this temperature for a further 45 minutes. The dyed wool is then removed from the liquor, rinsed with water and dried, giving an olive-gray dyeing which has very good fastness to light, perspiration, washing and flexing.
Example 2
11.4 parts of the disazo dye described in Example 1 are heated to 95 for 1 hour together with 3 parts of cobalt sulfate in 60 parts of formamide, whereupon no more metal-free dye can be detected in the reaction mass. The cobalt-containing dye is precipitated by dilution with 250 parts of water. It is filtered off with suction, then dissolved in 200 parts of a 3% sodium hydroxide solution, precipitated again with sodium chloride, then filtered off with suction, washed with a sodium chloride solution and dried. After grinding, it is a dark powder that contains wool, silk, leather and synthetic materials Polyamide fibers in olive tones with excellent mill, wash and lightfastness dyes.
