Process for the production of new asymmetrical chromium mixed complex azo dyes
It has been found that valuable unsymmetrical chromium mixed complex azo dyes which contain two different monoazo dyes bound to a chromium atom, a monoazo dye residue being a residue of a monoazo dye I of the general formula l:

where R is a benzene radical in which the COOH group is in the o-position to the azo bridge, Rl is an alkyl radical and R2 is an aryl, aralkyl or alkyl radical, and the other monoazo dye radical is the radical of a monoazo dye II of 0, 0'-dioxy, o-oxy-o'-alkoxy-. o-Oxy-o'- - carboxy or o-oxy-o'-amino-azo dye series means which dyes are obtained from diazotized o-aminophenols, 0-aminophenol ethers or o-aminophenylcarboxylic acids by coupling with oxynaphthalenes, 5-pyrazolones, 5-aminopyrazoles, Acylacetic acid amides and oxybenzenes are formed when the 1:
1 - Chromium complex compound of a corresponding monoazo dye II of the o, o'-dioxy, o-oxy-o'-alkoxy, o-oxy-o'-carboxy or o-oxy-o'-amino-azo dye series in an approximately equimolar ratio with a metal-free monoazo dye I of the general formula (1) or if the 1: 1 chromium complex compounds of a dye I of the formula (1) are reacted in an approximately equimolar ratio with a corresponding metal-free monoazo dye II.
The radicals R 2 in the general formula (1) can contain other non-acidic dissociating substituents such as alkyl, alkoxy, nitro, sulfone, optionally N-substituted sulfonamide and carbonamide radicals, halogen atoms and also acylamino and cyan substituents. The second metallizable monoazo dye II, which is different from I, can also have the abovementioned substituents common in azo dyes.
The starting dyes of the general formula (1) can be obtained by coupling diazotized anthranilic acid or its core substitution products with acyl acetic acid amides. The 1: 1 chromium complex compounds of the monoazo dyes II different from 1 can also be obtained by known processes.
For the preparation of the monoazo dyes I of the general formula (1), in addition to anthranilic acid itself, the following substitution products of anthranilic acid can be used: anthranilic acid-4-sul-

-dimethylamid, -methyl-oxäthylamid, -isopropylamid, thylanilid, -2 ', 5'-dichloranilid, -o-anisidid.
Monoazo dyes can be used as the metallizable dye II other than I, insofar as they contain metallizable groups in the azo group 0, 0 '. O, o'-dioxy, o-oxy-o'-alkoxy, o-oxy-o'-carboxy and o-oxy-o'-amino-azo dyes are suitable. The metallizable monoazo dyes are formed from diazotized o-aminophenols, o-aminophenol ethers or o-aminophenylcarhonic acids by coupling with oxynaphthalenes, 5-pyrazolones, 5-aminopyrazoles, acylacetic acid amides and oxybenzenes, it being possible for the starting components to be further substituted as indicated above.
A modification of the process for producing such dyes consists in the action of chromium-releasing agents on a mixture of the dyes I and II. The asymmetrical chromium mixed complexes can also be obtained by reacting the 1: 1 chromium complex compound of I with a monoazo dye II other than I. The dye-chromium complexes obtained after the modification of the process are not pure, however, because they contain approximately 50% of the asymmetrical mixed chromium complex and approximately 25% each of the symmetrical 2: 1 chromium complexes of the two starting materials, they differ considerably in color and color behavior from the pure chromium mixed complexes and usually behave less favorably. Therefore this becomes.
Procedure only used in special cases. Suitable processes for chromating are, for example, the action of chromium salicylato complexes and treatment with chromates in the presence of reducing carbohydrates.
Various processes are known from the literature for the preparation of the 1: 1 chromium complex compounds of monoazo dyes II. Particularly favorable are those processes which are carried out openly or under pressure in organic solvents such as ethylene glycol, with simple chromium salts such as chromium (III) chloride, in a weakly acidic range at temperatures of 100 to 1500C (e.g. German patent specification No. 479373).
The 1: 1 chromium complex compounds thus obtainable are reacted with the metal-free monoazo dyes I in an aqueous or organic medium in a weakly acidic, neutral or, advantageously, weakly alkaline range in the presence of acid-binding agents, such as sodium acetate, soda, dilute sodium hydroxide solution or formamide.
The new asymmetrical chromium mixed complex azo dyes are particularly suitable for dyeing and printing nitrogen-containing materials, in particular fiber materials made of wool, silk,

and polyurethane fibers. Dyes have good drawability for the materials mentioned.

4000 parts by volume of water are dissolved and 5 parts by weight of ammonium acetate are added. In the dye liquor who entered 100 parts by weight of wool yarn at 500C and heated the liquor to boiling temperature within 20 minutes. It is then boiled for 1 hour. The wool yarn is then rinsed and dried; a clear green coloration with good fastness properties is obtained.
Example 8: 43.5 parts by weight of the monoazo dye 1-amino-2,5-dimethoxy-4-chlorobenzene> 2-oxy-8-methylsulfonylaminonaphthalene are incorporated into 200 parts by volume of ethylene glycol. stirred, treated with 26.6 parts by weight of chromium (III) chloride in crystallized form and heated to 155 ° C. for 4 h. Mai allows to cool to 1100C and carries 32.5 parts by weight of the monoazo dye l-amino-2-carboxy-ben'zol ----> aceto-aceticanilide and 400 parts by volume of formamide. Then it is left for 25 min at 100 ° C and the reaction solution is poured into 4000 parts by volume of water at 50 ° C., to which 58 parts by volume of a 40% sodium hydroxide solution were previously added.
The dye is in solution; to isolate the chrome mix. complex, 110 parts by weight of rock salt are sprinkled. It is suctioned off and dried at 600C in vacuo. The dried dye is a dark powder that dissolves in water and dyes wool from neutral baths in clear shades of green.
