Apparatus for removing various materials arranged in piles
The present invention relates to an apparatus for removing various materials arranged in piles, for example materials stored in a hold. I1 comprises a lifting member constituted by an Archimedean screw and it is characterized in that the tube of this member carries on the outside, on the part close to its inlet end, a rib forming a helix, of which the pitch is in the opposite direction to that of said Archimedean screw, this rib being intended to bring the material back towards the inlet end of the tube during the rotation of the latter.
By way of example only, the accompanying drawing shows an embodiment of an apparatus for removing material from a pile of material in accordance with the present invention.
Fig. 1 is a side view of this device.
Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the inlet end of this apparatus.
The apparatus shown comprises: a) a base or carriage 1, mounted on wheels 14; b) a frame 2 comprising two spectacle flanges
3 and 4 and resting on the carriage 1, on the one hand, by
a journal axis 5 and, on the other hand, by the inter
medial of a jack 6; c) a lifting member made up of an Ar screw
chimedes, the tube diameter of which is chosen according to
the desired flow and the interior of which is partitioned by
a sheet 8 arranged in a spiral. The ante end
top 7a of tube 7 does not end following a
straight section, but follows the shape of the
nth 'spiral of the propeller 8. On the leading edge
7c of tube 7 is fixed a tooth 9, which matches the
cylindrical shape of the tube 7. This tooth 9 extends
on part of this leading edge 7c so
to leave a clearance between the active part of
tooth 9 and the end of tube 7.
Tube 7
externally has a rib 10 coarse
helical on its part near the end
7a. The pitch of the helix formed by the rib 10
is in the opposite direction to that of the screw helix
of Archimedes. Tube 7 passes through the flanges
glasses 3 and 4 and has two paths of rou
lement, in which enter mistletoe pebbles
dage 11 and 12; d) a motor 13 carried by the frame 2 drives in
rotation of the tube 7 by means of a reducer
speed controller, a speed variator and a
toothing provided on the raceway, co
acting with rollers 11.
The device can be used as follows:
The apparatus is brought to the foot of the pile of material to be taken up, the end 7a of the tube 7 possibly being higher than the other end 7b and maintained in this position by means of a jack 6.
By means of this jack 6, the tube 7 is rotated around the axis 5 until the end 7a of the tube 7 comes to rest on the pile of materials. The jack 6 is then neutralized by its setting in the free position so that the tube 7 rests freely by its own weight on the pile of materials and can follow the variations in height of this pile.
The motor 13 is started, the tube 7 then rotates around its axis. The materials lying in the path of the tooth 9 are entrained by the latter in the helical passage formed by the helix 8, the latter causing these materials to travel in the tube 7 towards the end 7b. The materials arriving at this end are rejected outside the tube 7 by the helix 8 and fall on another device, not shown.
Due to the rotation of the tube 7, the rib 10 pushes the materials that it encounters towards the end 7a where they are taken up by the tooth 9 as explained above.
During this work, the end 7a of the tube 7 rests on the pile of materials and descends as the pile decreases without however being embedded in the pile of materials.
I1 should be noted that, in the apparatus described and shown, the sheet 8 arranged in a spiral and the tube 7 form one and the same rotating part.
Compared to the known apparatuses currently in use in which an inner propeller rotates in a fixed tube, the amount of material broken during the reworking in the pile, even if they are friable, is notably reduced with the apparatus described herein. invention. On the other hand, the presence of the rib 10 makes it possible to automatically return the materials to the end 7a of the tube 7 and to feed the latter in a much more efficient manner without the aid of laborers who are necessary to power known machines.
