gegebenenfalls sub stituierte Carbalkoxyreste verwendet.
EMI0002.0064
Process for the preparation of trisazo dyes The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of new trisazo dyes of the formula
EMI0001.0006
where one x denotes the nitro group and the other x denotes the sulfonic acid group and the hydroxyl group of the naphthalene radical is in the position adjacent to the azo group and in the 5-, 7- or 8-position when -NH-acyl is in the 1-position,
but in the 6- or 7-position when -NH-acyl is in the 2-position.
The inventive method is characterized in that an aminodisazo compound of the formula
EMI0001.0019
where one x denotes the nitro group and the other x denotes the sulfonic acid group, and the diazotized body is diazotized with a 1- or 2-acylamino-hydroxynaphthalene monosulfonic acid of the formula which is coupled adjacent to the hydroxyl group
EMI0001.0027
wherein the hydroxyl group is in the 5-, 7- or 8-position,
when -NH-acyl is in the 1-position, and in the 6- or 7-position when -NH-acyl is in the 2-position, coupling.
The two aminodisazo compounds of the formula (1I) are obtained, for example, by coupling diazotized 2-amino-1-hydroxy-6-nitro-benzene-4-sulphonic acid or
2-Amino-1-hydroxy-4-nitro-benzene-6-sulfonic acid with 1- (4'-aminophenyl) -3-methyl-pyr-azolone-5, diazotizing the resulting monoazo compound, coupling the diazo body with 2-Acetyl-amino-1-hydroxy-benzene, cleavage of the acyl radical in the diazo compound by means of sodium hydroxide solution and precipitate and filter off the product obtained.
Suitable acylaminohydroxynaphthalene monosulphonic acids are, for example, 1-acylamino-5-hydroxy-naphthalene-7-sulphonic acid, 1-acylamino-7-hydroxy-naphthalene-3-sulphonic acid, 1-acylamino-8-hydroxy-naphthalene-4-sulphonic acid and 2- Acylamino-6-hydroxy-naphthalene-8-sulfonic acid. Acyl radicals are preferably acetyl or benzoyl radicals or simple substitution products thereof or low molecular weight,
optionally substituted carbalkoxy radicals used. The coupling of the diazotized aminodisazo compound (1I) with the acylaminohydroxynaphthalene monosulfonic acid (11I) is advantageously carried out in an alkaline medium and in the presence of a tertiary organic base, e.g. B. pyridine.
The isolated trisazo dyes are valuable dyes which color cotton and fibers made from regenerated cellulose in lightfast and washfast brown shades that are resistant to crease-proof finishes.
The new trisazo dyes can also be metallized in bulk, preferably using agents that donate copper or nickel.
The metal-containing trisazo dyes dye cotton and fibers from regenerated cellulose in shades that are lightfast and washfast and resistant to crease-proof finishes.
In the following examples, the parts are parts by weight, the percentages are percentages by weight, and the temperatures are given in degrees Celsius. Example 1 54 parts of the aminodisazo compound of the formula are dissolved
EMI0002.0064
with the aid of 15 parts of sodium hydroxide in 400 parts of hot water, 6.9 parts of sodium nitrite are added to the solution and it is allowed to flow at 10-15 to 25 parts of 30% hydrochloric acid.
After a few hours the diazo compound formed is filtered off and it is added to an ice-cold solution of 1-benzoylamino-8-hydroxy-naphthalene-4-sulfonic acid, 15 parts of 30% sodium hydroxide solution and 150 parts of water, the coupling being carried out accelerated to the trisazo dye by adding 200 parts of pyridine.
The dye formed is precipitated by adding 180 parts of 30% hydrochloric acid, filtered off, dissolved in 1200 parts of water with 40 parts of 30% sodium hydroxide solution at 80, reprecipitated from the solution with sodium chloride, filtered off and dried.
A dark powder is obtained which dissolves in concentrated sulfuric acid with a yellowish brown color, in water with a red color and colors fibers made of natural and regenerated cellulose in reddish brown shades by the copper plating process. The dyeings are characterized by their good lightfastness and washfastness as well as their suitability for the crease-proof finish.
A similar dye is obtained when 1-acetylamino-8-hydroxynaphthalene-4-sulfonic acid is used as the azo component. If the other aminodisazo compound is used with the remainder of the 2-amino-1-hydroxy-6-nitrobenzene-4-sulfonic acid, a trisazo dye is obtained which dyes purple-tinged browns.
The copper complex compound of the trisazo dye obtained according to Example 1 can be obtained as follows: The moist filter material is dissolved in 3000 parts of 70 water. The solution is mixed with 25 parts of crystallized sodium acetate and then dropwise with a 20% aqueous solution of 50 parts of crystallized copper sulfate until excess copper (II) ions can be detected in the dye solution.
The mass is then heated for some time with the addition of excess ammonia. The copper complex compound is precipitated by adding salt, filtered off and dried. The copper-containing trisazo dye is a dark powder that dissolves in water with a brown color and colors fibers made from natural and regenerated cellulose very real brown.
Example 2 If the aminodisazo compound of Example 1 is coupled with 34.3 parts of 2-benzoylamino-6-hydroxy-naphthalin-8-sulfonic acid according to the procedure described there, the result is after the up work a dark powder that dissolves green in concentrated sulfuric acid and brown in water and colors fibers made of natural and regenerated cellulose in real, yellowish brown tones using the copper plating process.
The dye with 2-acetylamino-6-hydroxynaphthalene-8-sulfonic acid as the azo component has similar properties.
